today for 22-year-old devorah stuvin. she was last seen thursday night in maywood and that's where police focused their search until late this evening when word came of a car discovered in wallington in the passaic river. eyewitness news reporter cefaan kim tweeted the photo the moment the vehicle was pulled from the water tonight. he is at the scene right now with the new details. cefaan? >> reporter: well, sandra and joe, it is not the happy ending her family had been hoping for. behind me is a hole in the fence where devorah stuvin drove her car into the passaic river. her car was pulled out of the river just hours ago with a body inside and late tonight officials have confirmed that it is a body of the woman they have been searching for. the mangled gray galant belonging to 22-year-old devorah stuvin pulled from the river. it took dive teams five hours to recover the car with the body inside. the car careened off embankment before crashing into the water.

and it was high tide at the time. so what was happening now the tide was going out. so more of the recovery could be -- could be done. >> reporter: stuvin's car was found about a 15 minute drive from where she was last seen. it was thursday night when the passaic woman was pulled over for a traffic violation in maywood. police say she immediately called her mother afterwards and crying and sounding lost. and then she vanished. search teams had been since friday. it was a call about a damaged fence around 3:00 in the afternoon that led teamst tot location -- teams to the location. >> the owner of the funeral home called because he had property damage to his fence. when the officer got there he felt that because there was some vehicle debris there, that possibly something occurred. >> reporter: now, family members say she had suffered from seizures but investigators say they don't know at this point if that's what caused this crash. or when she crashed into the

reporting live in wallington, cefaan kim, channel 7 eyewitness news. >> cefaan thank you. new at 11:00, the nypd's hate crimes task force investigates an assault on a man in the bronx. the victim told police the suspects yelled isis, isis, before beating him. the attacker punched and kicked the 43-year-old victim yesterday evening at watson and pugs lee avenues in sound view. he was walking with a 9-year- old girl at the time and doctors treated him for bruising to his head and face. also new tonight, a murder investigation after a deadly stabbing in westchester county. police found a 50-year-old woman with stab wounds in an apartment in the houses in yonkers. that woman was from pounced debt at the scene and -- pronounced dead at the scene and security guards at the complex detained a man who police later took into custody at a suicide. -- as is suspect. right now there are no other suspects. now to the weather.

a river on friday. sweeney worked at the abc station in chicago where she managed on lightning operations -- online operations no. arrests have been made. one american is among the dead after terrorist attack and siege in west africa. a small group of terrorists opened fire in a cafe and took control of a hotel in the capital of burkina faso last night. after gunfights overnight, local, french and american security forces successfully stormed the hotel. they freed 126 people but at least 28 others from 18 countries died. four terrorists were killed. and al-qaeda affiliate has claimed responsibility. happening tomorrow, the democratic presidential candidates meet for the fourth and final debate before iowacaucuss, hillary clinton, bernie sanders and o'malley will debate on a stage in north charleston.

the first case of brain damage in a baby linked to the zika virus has been reporterred in the united states. states. the hawaii department of health says a baby was born in oahu. it stresses that the mother likely acquired the mosquito in brazil. they are not contagious and authorities believe zika caused brain damage in thousands of few months. thousands of people lined up at the national zoo today all for their first glimpse at -- bei-bei. the adorable 5-month-old panda stole the show even if he was a little camera shy. riviera. >> reporter: this was the potomac a panda -- moment, a panda cub making his debut to squeals of delight. the first thing he does? shy away from the spotlight.

nearly a quarter inch of rain this morning in central park. closer to three quarters of an inch on the east end of long island with the storm system that moved offshore. sun giving way to clouds quickly tomorrow and could be a couple of afternoon snow flakes especially south and east of new york city. those areas could be enough to a developing offshore storm -- much of that storm will stay well offshore. no accumulating snow and that. scattered snow showers late tomorrow night. with those there could be a coating of snow in some spots especially north and west of the city. and that could create some slick travel especially after midnight tomorrow night and then it's all about the arctic air with the biting wind to begin next workweek. 42 right now in newark and 42 at teterboro. 41 white plains and down the freezing at monticello. again not too bad at all considering it's after 11:00 in the middle of january. 39 belmar and low 40s on the island and lots of clouds out there right now. gives way to a little bit of clearing overnight tonight and

filtered sunshine tomorrow morning. temperatures just above freezing in the park a lot of 20s in the suburban areas. then the clouds rapidly increase and look at by 2:00 tomorrow afternoon. there could be a touch of snow well south of new york city say south of belmar. and then later on in the afternoon, into the early evening that can stipover to -- skip over to eastern parts of island out by the twin forks. late tomorrow night with the ail rival of the -- arrival of the cold front of the arctic air, more snow showers especially late tomorrow night into early monday morning. with that could be a slick spot or two but the big story monday the cold. you see temperatures struggling out of the 20s all day. for tonight partly cloudy down to about 42 and any sunshine quickly giving way to clouds during the day tomorrow. a couple of afternoon snow flakes but with temperatures well above freezing, we wouldn't have any accumulation from that. mostly cloudy snow shower around after midnight tomorrow night. we're down to about 26. here's your accuweather seven day forecast. again, blustery, cold on monday.

>> we come from ordinary means, we are capable of extraordinary things. >> reporter: she was an associate justice of the new york state supreme court and in the bronx, i'm aj ross, channel 7 eyewitness news. tonight, staten island woman is behind bars accused of killing the father of two of her children. police say when they responded to an apartment at the top hill houses in castleton corners early this morning, they found 31-year-old ruben jimenez had been stabbed in the chest. officers arrested 31-year-old christina quinones. the kumyses two children ages 4 and -- couple's two children ages 4 and 10 were in the apartment during the stabbing along with a teenaged daughter relationship. the man is dead after being shot in the head in brooklyn. that shooting happened this afternoon on new lots avenue if brownsville. police found 25-year-old sha

he was dead on the scene and no arrests have been made. on long island they charge a father with drunk driving with his baby daughter in the car with him. police say 34-year-old juan ortiz was pulled over early this morning in hempstead after an officer saw him driving erratically. in the car with him was his 7- month-old daughter and her mother. authorities charged ortiz with aggravated dwi under lee anders' law and endangering the welfare of a child. a suspect who was shot during a bank holdup on long island was arraigned in the hospital today. the judge ordered 20-year-old he sean pierre of elmont be held without bail. he allegedly tried to hold up a chase bank in franklin square at gunpoint on thursday. a security guard shot pierre fortimes and now -- four times and now recovering at the hospital in mineola. a fourth man has been charged in the beating death of

in new jersey. 33-year-old jenell melton taught at red bank middle school and was found dead in her neptune city apartment in 2009. investigators say robbers targeting a different apartment mistakenly entered hers. 38-year-old jerry sprawleddings faces charges including felony murder. he's serving an eight year sentence for an unrelated drug case and three other men are already charged in melton's death. president obama proposes changes to unemployment insurance. the president wants to provide benefits for unemployed people who get a new job with lower pay. they'd be ohm jill a woker could make -- eligible a worker could make $50,000 a year or less. the benefit is limited. the president made the proposal during his weekly internet address. >> it's a way to give family some stability and en-- families some
