snow is already reaching the ground across parts of southern new jersey. some indications this evening that a heavier band may reach new york city around 2:00 in the morning. the range in snowfall is going to be big. you're talking about no snow in some northern suburbs. maybe in ocean we pick up two or three inches. visibility still good. our temperatures are going to drop below freezing. we've stayed below freezing but we will get wet sidewalks. winter weather advisory is for ocean county. that's where we can see some of our higher totals in the snow. right now snow reaching in to ocean county. a lot of it not reaching the ground because the air is so dry. decent snows here near dc. snow off to the west is weakening. this is where we're going to get some of our snowfall from. watch what happens over the next few hours. watch this band over the ocean that may just direct toward new york city for a little while allowing for quick coatings

tonight for the senseless murder of a man in the bronx, a minor dispute ending in a deadly stabbing. 54-year-old eric ortiz stabbed 27-year-old christopher cabrera week. both distributed fliers for a cell phone store. ortiz didn't like the way cabrera did his job. >> he was a quiet guy and tried to go ahead and get a job. >> he was an intelligent child all his life. and now he left a child of eight >> cabrera's mourning family may. now to exclusive new video obtained by eyes news showing a car crashing in to a staten island hair salon but it was who was inside the car now leading to an investigation. suspended. eyewitness news reporter jim dolan with the wild video and reaction from the salon owner. >> we don't know if the two detectives and the lieutenant

the bar next door before the accident, what we do know though is that what happened next on control. it was a thunderous crash. then blaring horns and sirens. within a few seconds somebody tried to back in to the car with such force that it didn't stop till it hit the back wall. the driver of the car tried to drive right back out but apparently got stuck and this is the scene crystal macnair saw when she got to the hair salon she owns. >> to the wall. >> reporter: as macnair has cleaned up since, she still can't get rid of the tire tracks and some of the other damage made by the car that was apparently driven by a member of the nypd. two other members of the nypd were allegedly passengers in the vehicle. none of whom were there when on-duty police arrived at the scene. nypd lieutenant and two

this snow can remain as long as this low doesn't strengthen and it's just getting to the coast right now but what's going to happen is over the next 46 hours this is really going to wind up and all that snow is just going to be pulled in to, the moisture is going to be pulled in to that low and that will end our window for accumulating snows and that's going to happen by midmorning or so. let's take a closer look at it zoomed in. notice snow showers coming in to new york city 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning here. the biggest coverage with areas of snow, especially steadier to the south around daybreak and then starting to pull offshore by midmorning and looking at breaks during the afternoon hours. with that in mind, we're looking for little to no snow in the midhudson valley. some dustings here. up to an inch lower hudson valley, connecticut, new jersey. in to new york city, coating to an inch. 1 to 2-inch amounts, maybe an isolated 3-inch amount.
