the breaking news. >> we just learned that the victim in this case, a 53-year-old man has died from his injuries. this is a frightening story. these two people had never met before. they were talking on a subway platform, got in to a dispute, one of them pulled a knife to settle it. it started at 116th street and the victim actually got on the train, got on the 2 train and headed down here to 110th street where he collapsed and where medics later found him. let's go to some video shot about 9:15 this evening, as the victim, a 53-year-old man was brought out of the subway station by medics, taken to harlem hospital in critical condition originally but he's since died from his injuries. police don't yet know what the dispute was about, what they were arguing about what the investigation has slowed trains and closed two train stations.

police are investigating, trying to find people who witnessed this, but again, it's a subway. it's a train station. people are moving and in transition, very difficult to find people who actually witnessed this, especially since the victim himself got on the train and headed south one stop. one person is dead after being stabbed on a subway platform on 114th street, died here when he was taken to harlem hospital. for now reporting live, jim dolan, channel 7 eyewitness news. new tonight, angry parents over lead contaminated drinking water at their children's school. those parents facing school administrators tonight saying they let them down and compromised the health of their kids. this as new testing measures are announced for affected school. carolina in newark. >> testing starts tomorrow here in newark, and it starts at toddlers. the department of health starting with those young

most vulnerable because of their ages. that continues as parents here tonight at a school board meeting were just shaking their heads. >> reporter: parents and students were enraged, both outside and inside tonight's school board meeting in newark. many looking for answers about the district's water quality issue. in response to elevated lead levels found in some schools, free blood tests are available for some 17,000 children at the 30 affected schools. some field leaders past and present failed their children. >> i had to keep my kids home. i'm still having reservations as of today because it's not safe to send them to school. >> i don't think it's fair we get to drink dirty water. >> reporter: last week newark public schools temporarily shut down water fountains. >> lead leads to all kinds of

leukemia, et cetera. we're very concerned about the health of our children. >> reporter: trying to avoid a panic, the superintendent explained anything over 15 parts per billion is a red flag. most schools came in around 100, with one at high as 558. the crisis in flint, michigan hit an astonishing 13,000 parts per billion. >> i absolutely believe that this is a matter of urgency and it is a matter in which the public, parents, and the community is entitled to know everything there is to know. >> so the question remains, what is causing this issue? the superintendent claims that it is not the water source here in newark, rather it is the aging infrastructure that the water is sitting in the pipes and in some cases leading to lead seeping in to that water but of course all of this still needs to be tested. reporting live in newark,

eyewitness news. >> a lot more to come on this story. he spent his career trying to carry on his dad's musical legacy but when your name is frank sinatra, jr., that's a mighty big shadow. 72-year-old frank sinatra, jr. died tonight. he was touring in florida when he went in to cardiac arrest. frank, jr. rarely saw his constantly touring dad. he was kidnapped when he was 19 from a casino in california. his dad paid quarter million dollars in ransom for his return. the younger sinatra born in jersey city, about 4 miles from where his famous dad was born. criminal charges tonight against a limo driver on long island who caused a horrible crash that left four young women dead. carlos pino charged with assault and negligent homicide. prosecutors say pino drove his limousine in to the path of a pickup truck last july while making a u-turn even though he could not see oncoming traffic. eight women were in the limo. four were killed. the driver of the pickup now
