strong and fast reaction to the deadly isis terror bombings in brussels. tonight, an ominous and extraordinary warning to americans about traveling anywhere in europe. news also pouring out over the emotion and anger over the attacks, vigils taking place around the world and in our area like this in union square to remember victims. >> the manhunt is on for one of the attackers caught on camera in the brussels airport. two other terrorists with suicide bombs are believed to have been killed. the death toll, at least 31 and 250 others injured. >> we have two reports beginning with aj rawson brussels. >> reporter: i am here in the capital city of brussels, it is eerily quiet as many remain shocked, heartbroken and reeling from the devastating

belgian authorities made an alarming discovery as the search continues for those responsible. a devastating attack in the heart of europe left the city of brussels physically and emotionally paralyzed as authorities continue the hunt for the remaining suspect in a trail of isis terrorists. the two wearing black with no effort to hide their faces are believed to have been the suicide bombers. with devices hidden in their officials. each with a glove on the left hand perhaps to hide the bombs trigger, according to one fbi official. >> whether it is wires, strings, a button, something is in their bed when they move their hand, it actually makes the bomb go off. >> reporter: a third man whom authorities say got away and is being sought has a hat pulled down over his face pushing what may have been the third bomb that did not detonate. rates across the capital city following the attacks produced

nearby neighborhood where authorities discovered a nail filled bomb, local products and an islamic state flag inside a home. the belgium prime minister is calling this the worst attack the country has ever known. with at least 31 dead and more than 200 injured between the back-to-back bombings and brussels airport and the maelbeek station. >> a lot of people badly injured with a lot of blood. inside but we cannot see anything because of smoke. ruin. there was smoke everywhere, glass broken on the ground. it was clear that there was an bombing. injured were nine americans including aqs servicemember and family yet to be identified.

look at a scare here and the nypd's newest counter terrorist weapon. >> reporter: lets start at kennedy, this is terminal 4, one of the highest profile international terminals in the world. you can see how busy it is at 11:00 with unscreened luggage. it is just as busy on the north side of the terminal, where the cargo is handled, and were two hours ago on the eyewitness news was there as a bomb squad was taking no chances. on a windswept cargo ramp at jfk, port authority cops and the nypd bomb squad were taking one package seriously. this is what they saw when a shipping crate pass through an x-ray machine, a tangle of wires that looks suspicious, police called ambulances to standby just in case. in the end, it was nothing. less than a day after the carnage in brussels, it shows how tense things have become at home. all day and kennedy and the night in laguardia, heavily

>> reporter: as for those paperweight dogs, it is not clear at this hour if brussels police are equipped with dogs with that particular training and if they were in at the airport. port authority police say their dogs are not trained with that vapor technique. as for the nypd, eight new dogs going into service onto the street tomorrow, each of them named for a fallen new york police officer. life at kennedy airport, josh einiger, channel 7 eyewitness news. president obama spoke about the fossils attacks today from cuba, saying that america stands in solidarity with belgium. >> this is not only a reminder that the world must unite, we must be together, regardless of nationality, or race, or faith. and fighting against the scourge of terrorism.

still in flames. flames ripped out of the first presbyterian church tonight in englewood, shattering century- old stained-glass and scorching wooden beams that have both sheltered and sustained a congregation for generations. >> i feel for the people who were baptized here, who were married here, whose parents had their funerals here, and to see that destroyed is not an easy thing to watch. but the congregation is people, and so as long as the people are fine, the church is fine. >> reporter: when they arrived, firefighters front of the chapel portion of the building but the fire was voracious. still it burned into the night. sheriff siegler says she walked by the church moments earlier and there was nothing. >> there was a small window where you can see orange. we knew it was a fire. and then two seconds later, the windows were shattered. >> worries there a lot of flames and fire in their? >> yeah. crazy. >> it is just full of meaning

the interior of the church and the chapel, this is the chapel that is right here, and then the youth church with beautiful beams and grass, it is just incredible. >> reporter: that is jenny who is retiring after this year as a teacher at the school. like many here, she loves the church. >> it draws a lot of people from the community. the congregation is made up of so many different types of people as well. it is a very important part of the town. >> reporter: this is holy week, sunday is easter, the holiest day on the christian calendar. reverend hong says the fire is said that he and the diverse congregation are unbowed. >> we will find a place to worship and we will do it in the parking lot if we have to. >> reporter: they have just gone through an ocean of water trying to get this fire down. we are back life now, the pastor told us earlier that he may not have to have the services on easter sunday in a
