belgium prosecutors have charged three men with offenses related to the terror attacks at the brussels airport and subway >> organizers canceled a solidarity rally because police are too strapped to cope >> meanwhile, mourners are paying their respects to victims at memorials like this one. abc's erin reports from brussels reporter: hundreds of people keep pouring into the streets of brussels to honor the victims of the terror attacks, but a march against fear scheduled for easter sunday is postponed after police said they were spread too anyone to provide security. >> belgium is a close friend and ally of the united states and when it comes to our friends, america has their back. reporter: more than a hundred people remain in the hospital while investigators hunt down the terror cell behind the attacks. prosecutors have charged this

the video he posted on youtube, with terrorist murder suggesting he took part in the bombings. they're also holding this man seen in a raid friday. >> he was sitting on the bus stop with his daughter, two shots, the second shot was sniper shot. reporter: the manhunt had been focused on two suspects, the man in the hat at the airport and a man seen just before the suicide bombing in the subway. now officials are adding a 28 year old syrian calling him very dangerous and possibly armed. investigators have linked him to the attacks in bus else and paris with -- brussels and paris. with isis threatening more attacks, security is tightened. >> i'm more likely to get in a car accident at home than bombed in europe. reporter: not everyone is as confident. >> people are mixing in with society so you have no idea who it is. it could be anyone here. reporter: since easter arrives just five

days after the attacks, it will be celebrated with joy and trepidation. the brussels airport will remain closed until at least tuesday. investigators wrapped up their analysis of the crime scene but experts need to check structural integrity of the airport. mariah carrie is canceling a concert in brussels over security concerns. no word on when she might rescheduled. she also tweeted hope to see you soon. when it comes to preventing a brussels style attack here, dogs play a crucial role for law enforcement. just this week, the nypd graduated its latest squad of vapor wake dogs.

its assumed new york being clinton's adopted state that she'll do well here but sanders is hoping to peel away liberal voters, younger voters, especially in new york city. >> he represents what everybody deeply wants and needs to have, not just a better united states, but a better world. reporter: of course, most of the excitement this primary season is on the republican side, but right now, it is quiet. only democrats are voting today and the next primary for republicans is april 5th. new jersey is one of did last states to vote on june 7th. >> dave, thank you. a petition to allow guns inside the republican national convention is gaining traction online. the petition posted on change.org already has more than 20,000 signatures. it calls for the open carry of firearms at the july event at the arena in cleveland. activists are

kasich to over rule the gun free rule. police are looking for a group of men wanted for a slashing in a subway station. investigators say four men approached a 19 year old man at the no. 1 train station at 96th and broadway around midnight last night. they slashed him in the head, back and both hands. it is not clear why. the attackers were last seen fleeing north on broadway. the victim remains in serious condition tonight. protesters gathered in nassau county hoping to drum up opposition for a proposed video casino at belmont park. they say it will increase traffic problems and increase crime. >> belmont park has a storied history. it has been here for hundred years as a racetrack and that's the way it should stay. >> it's about our community. its about us united in the face of saying that we don't want to see our community fail.

a busy saturday for the head of the new york diocese as he prepares for easter celebration. he attended an annual blessing of the food for the breakfast tomorrow. he is set to lead vigil tonight. and this weekend, ireland is marking 100 years since the easter rising. a ceremony was held in the garden of

. belgian prosecutors charge three men with terror offenses in the brussels attacks. one of the men is the man seen in surveillance video with two suicide bombers. >> it's been one year since the east village gas explosion that killed two people. cermonies are to begin to commemorate the blast victims. police are looking for a group of men wanted for a slashing inside a subway station on manhattans west side. authorities a four men approaches a man and slashed him in the head, back and hands. i'm joe torres. >> we begin with the hunt for a serial robber. police are warning that the

who robbed and traumatized a 91 year old woman in park slope has struck several times more. >> eyewitness news reporter cefaan kim is live. reporter: joe and lauren, he is a massive hulk of a man and he chooses vulnerable targets. investigators believe he's struck several times, the latest in prospect heights. >> honestly, its a little surprising. it doesn't really happen around this neighborhood a lot. it's something i wouldn't expect. reporter: residents have taken notice. >> it's really scary. reporter: scary because of the suspects mo. investigators believe this burly brute at roughly 250-pounds and 6 feet tall is preying on the most elderly women. this is surveillance video of

defenseless 91 year old victim. cops say he followed the victim and pushed his way into her home before choking her add gunpoint. police believe he's struck again. this time an 81 year old victim in prospect place. cops say he approached her at gunpoint with a box cutter in his other hand and demanded money. >> it makes you be more vigilant like when you're coming home at night and watch your back. it is really alarming. reporter: investigators say a pattern is emerging. this suspect, tied to at least four robberies dating back several months, including a home invasion in park slope in february , where he pistol whipped a 71 year old woman. >> it doesn't surprise me totally, although, its too bad. prospect heights is shocked saying a suspect like this knows exactly where to strike. >> a very nice neighborhood is a good

perpetrate crimes because you think you're safe so you don't have to take extra steps to watch your surroundings. reporter: now in each incident, the suspect takes off on foot with several hundred dollars in cash. there is a sizable amount of reward money for information line of dutying to an arrest. $2,500 from crime stoppers and several hundred more from [inaudible] >> an eyewitness news exclusive now. it's happened again, drinking at city construction sites. this time, added to the mix, drug use. these workers were fired on the spot. last month, the investigators uncovered workers drinking on the job, many taking liquid lunch breaks and going back the work. now one major contractor ordered random drug testing and the results ais sounding. jim has the --

>> workers lined up at a mobile van to take an alcohol and drug test. a whistle blower tipped us off to the crack down following our reports of workers at construction sites on the west side who were drinking heavily during lunch breaks. the whistle blower wrote the second avenue subway job is out of control, pills, cocaine, liquor, pot, i have witnessed it all. [inaudible] did confirm to us that 82 workers were recently tested for drugs and alcohol. 9 of them failed and were immediately fired. >> that's an extraordinarily high number. reporter: construction attorney says the mta's own numbers show the drug/alcohol fail rate at the site is 11%. >> if the percentage is that high, statistically, it shows you that it's likely other people would have problems as well. obviously everyone ought to be tested. reporter: the president of ee cruz, one

the project told us quote, they will bring the testing truck back several more times unannounced until we feel comfortable everyone is drug and alcohol free. he went on to say we want a safe work place for everybody. but in one of several e-mails sent to us by the whistle blower, he suggested that the random testing is not so random. he writes, we have testing but it's a joke. the foreman asks if you can pass before they send you to the truck. if not, they send you home. the general contractor tells eyewitness news to get around that, they are now testing more often and at different times includeing early in the morning. we've learned that the nine workers fired were tested around 8:00 8:00 a.m. >> clearly shows you that this is a rampant problem and the question is why. these supervisors must know what's going on.

couple from new jersey returning from a easter egg hunt with their son and grandchildren in the car. police say the other driver was under the influence. a 79 year old and his wife were killed. their adult son and his two children were injured. a 25 year old man faces death by auto and assault by auto charges. an argument in east harlem escalated and ended with a teenager shot in the head. he's now in critical condition. the victims family is keeping vigil at his side. the 17 year old was shot outside the jefferson houses on third avenue right across from a middle school. so far, police have made no arrests. american airlines apologizes to customers after the company cancels a flight because the co-pilot failed a sobriety test. investigators suspected the co- pilot had a

he arrived for his light out of detroit this morning. he failed a breathalyzer test and authorities arrested him. the airline canceled the flight and rebooked passengers on other flights. it had been just days since a house in ohio was sold and now, its been reduced to wreckage. an explosion destroyed the house yesterday evening. the explosion was so strong, it damaged some nearby homes. investigators think a gas leak may be to blame but no official cause has been announced. the columbus dispatch says the home's owner had closed on the sale just last week. singer adele is saying sorry after one of her fans was injured at a concert in scotland. witnesses say a chain fell from a piece of concert equipment and hit the women in -- woman in the audience. the fan was treated at the scene and hospitalized. one of the most famous

. caught on camera, a group of thieves stealing eight vehicles from a car dealership in florida. first, two suspects break into an office and find a box containing all of the keys to the carrions the lot. they -- cars on the lot. they then join eight other men on the lot and match the keys to the cars and drive away with eight vehicles. so far, two cars have been recovered.
