first he said women who get abortions should face a penalty, then he clarified. now candidates are jumping on presidential candidate donald trump's comments about women. but first at 11:00, a security guard at a local high school arrested after police say he secretly recorded a teenaged boy in the bathroom. good evening at 11:00. i'm shirleen allicot. >> and i'm joe torres. bill and sade are off tonight. police say after the security guard recorded the video at roosevelt high school, he posted it online. eyewitness news reporter carolina leid is outside police headquarters in mineola tonight. >> police say the security guard has worked at this school for two years now, that he has no prior arrests and there have not been any problems at this school

detectives are telling parents, talk to your children. if anything comes up, do not hesitate to give them a call. >> reporter: 24-year-old daniel williams tonight facing very serious charges. the school security guard is accused of videotaping a student in the bathroom at roosevelt high school tuesday morning. >> the defendant did go in to the bathroom. did follow the student in and he was able to videotape the student in the stall using the facility. after that he posted it on snapchat. >> reporter: snapchat is a social media app. photos are posted and in some cases quickly deleted, making it difficult to prosecute. but nassau police say the suspect in this case allegedly had the image still saved to his phone. >> the school was alerted of this through personnel at the school. once they found out, they called the police. detectives came. and they were able to view the snapchat. >> do you know about his arrest? >> no. >> reporter: in west babylon

me she had no idea her grandson was arrested. the school superintendent released this statement reading in part the security guard is administratively reassigned to home with pay, meaning he is not to report to work and may not enter school grounds during period of reassignment unless he receives written approval. today williams is out of jail, given an appearance ticket wednesday morning. his family claiming they don't know where he is. >> so the suspect is facing a couple of charges here including unlawful surveillance and child. if convicted on those charges, he's looking at up to four years behind bars. reporting live in mineola, carolina leid, channel 7 eyewitness news. five people are recovering tonight and a driver is in custody after a crash in the bronx. it happened in fordham heights when the driver lost control of sidewalk. first responders rushed five

they're expected to be okay. the driver remained at the scene but was taken in to custody. newscopter7 above the scene late this afternoon on east 165th street in morrisania. police say the 17-year-old boy was hit by a car. the car plowed in to the back of a semi truck. the driver of the car jumped out and fled the scene on foot. so far no arrests. a family from the bronx is desperate for information tonight about a loved one who hasn't been seen since last week. 34-year-old javier horta was last seen friday night on noble avenue. he was wearing black jeans, a black t-shirt, black hoodie and black sneakers. tonight his family is understandably consumed with worry. his brothers are urging anyone with information to call police. >> even like the smallest thing

saying in a statement, if abortion were crimeinalized, the -- if abortion were criminalized, the doctor would be held accountable. hillary clinton in town for a fundraiser quickly pounced. >> even other candidates on the republican side who run for office haven't gone as far as donald trump has in recent years and what he said today is just among the most outrageous and dangerous statements that i've heard anybody running for president say in a really long time. >> ted cruz and john kasich, trump's primary opponents, also jumped all over trump's comments tonight as well, at least as they relate to women who have abortions. all three men do agree abortion as a practice should be banned.

in the stabbing and robbery of a livery cab driver in yonkers. 62-year-old pedro estrada is charged with assault and robbery. police say he was riding in a cab last wednesday when he attacked its driver, christian rosa amparo, severing an artery. when he ran to a hospital for help, estrada allegedly stole his cab. amparo was hospitalized in critical condition but he is expected to recover. we hear from a mixed martial artist tonight, a fighter who put his training to a different use. he busted in to a burning home in new jersey and helped rescue the people trapped inside. eyewitness news reporter jim dolan is in paterson with details on how this whole rescue unfolded. >> before the fire department even got here, he charged in to this burning building today. he literally kicked down doors to get to families who were inside.

where doctors allegedly pulled more than 1400 bags of heroin from his body. 41-year-old fernando estreya pleaded not guilty. he was pulled over for a traffic violation in vermont leading to the astonishing discovery. the newark schools superintendent tonight took questions from parents worried about elevated lead levels in water. inspectors found elevated levels at 30 public schools earlier this month. christopher cerf says retesting is now underway at those sites as well as testing at additional sites. he says fixing the infrastructure solve the problem will not be a quick fix but he has no timetable for it either. new tonight, it was no knife coming up. what a man ended up having in his hand when police opened fire and shot him. >> also, skydivers collide in midair.

sebastian leal broke four vertebrae and is paralyzed from the waist down but he plans to skydive again. video released of a police officer shooting a man he thought was armed. what the cop believed was a knife was really a barbecue fork. the video shows 55-year-old gregory adams getting down on his knees before being shot and wounded outside his parents' home in fort worth, texas last summer. the officer said his weapon accidentally went off. police officers are recovering tonight from injuries they suffered in a gas line explosion in new jersey. the blast happened as a crew tested a new gas line in bayonne this morning. the workers were using pressurized air when a temporary cap blew off, sending debris flying out of the hole, debris that hit the victims. one worker was seriously hurt. the other suffered minor injuries.

a former cheerleader and honor student has pleaded guilty to a federal terrorism charge for trying to join isis. prosecutors say jaylen young converted to islam while studying at mississippi state university and was drawn to isis in part by its online videos. she even convinced her fianci to join her. he pleaded guilty to a similar charge. the couple was arrested last summer before boarding a flight with tickets to istanbul. she faces up to 20 years in prison. it's a medical first. surgeons have successfully transplanted organs from an hiv positive donor to an hiv positive recipient. doctors at johns hopkins performed the surgery on two patients. it's a long awaited new option for patients with the a.i.d.s. virus whose organs are failing. until recently hiv positive organ harvesting was banned.

oklahoma and kansas and we have incredible video of the actual formation. if you look at this, you can see the tornado making the connection with the ground, and it becomes a tornado at that stage. a super cell thunderstorm has rotating air in the horizontal. when it makes that connection, you can see the tornado form. it's amazing to see it slow down. it's like you have a big whirl and small whirls around it so it's called multiple vorteces. we could have heavy downpours. one home destroyed confirmed near the tulsa area. the empire state building is in green tonight for the new york cosmos' home opener. 47 degrees right now. it's been holding steady much of the evening. south wind at 9. high today, 56 degrees. 1 degree above average. no rainfall. we won't have any until tomorrow evening. so your daylight is fine tomorrow. sunrise and sunset times for

flip your thinking about buying your next one. authorities in alaska say they've broken up a plot to poison a classmate, a plot hatched by three 1st graders. administrators at a school in anchorage say the young girls planned to use silica gel packets which they mistakenly believed were poisonous. another student overheard and told a teacher. the three girls were suspended but won't face criminal charges. rare and often deadly blood infection for older adults is now spreading in two states.
