detectives are telling parents, talk to your children. if anything comes up, do not hesitate to give them a call. >> reporter: 24-year-old daniel williams tonight facing very serious charges. the school security guard is accused of videotaping a student in the bathroom at roosevelt high school tuesday morning. >> the defendant did go in to the bathroom. did follow the student in and he was able to videotape the student in the stall using the facility. after that he posted it on snapchat. >> reporter: snapchat is a social media app. photos are posted and in some cases quickly deleted, making it difficult to prosecute. but nassau police say the suspect in this case allegedly had the image still saved to his phone. >> the school was alerted of this through personnel at the school. once they found out, they called the police. detectives came. and they were able to view the snapchat. >> do you know about his arrest? >> no. >> reporter: in west babylon

me she had no idea her grandson was arrested. the school superintendent released this statement reading in part the security guard is administratively reassigned to home with pay, meaning he is not to report to work and may not enter school grounds during period of reassignment unless he receives written approval. today williams is out of jail, given an appearance ticket wednesday morning. his family claiming they don't know where he is. >> so the suspect is facing a couple of charges here including unlawful surveillance and child. if convicted on those charges, he's looking at up to four years behind bars. reporting live in mineola, carolina leid, channel 7 eyewitness news. five people are recovering tonight and a driver is in custody after a crash in the bronx. it happened in fordham heights when the driver lost control of sidewalk. first responders rushed five

in the stabbing and robbery of a livery cab driver in yonkers. 62-year-old pedro estrada is charged with assault and robbery. police say he was riding in a cab last wednesday when he attacked its driver, christian rosa amparo, severing an artery. when he ran to a hospital for help, estrada allegedly stole his cab. amparo was hospitalized in critical condition but he is expected to recover. we hear from a mixed martial artist tonight, a fighter who put his training to a different use. he busted in to a burning home in new jersey and helped rescue the people trapped inside. eyewitness news reporter jim dolan is in paterson with details on how this whole rescue unfolded. >> before the fire department even got here, he charged in to this burning building today. he literally kicked down doors to get to families who were inside.

sebastian leal broke four vertebrae and is paralyzed from the waist down but he plans to skydive again. video released of a police officer shooting a man he thought was armed. what the cop believed was a knife was really a barbecue fork. the video shows 55-year-old gregory adams getting down on his knees before being shot and wounded outside his parents' home in fort worth, texas last summer. the officer said his weapon accidentally went off. police officers are recovering tonight from injuries they suffered in a gas line explosion in new jersey. the blast happened as a crew tested a new gas line in bayonne this morning. the workers were using pressurized air when a temporary cap blew off, sending debris flying out of the hole, debris that hit the victims. one worker was seriously hurt. the other suffered minor injuries.

a former cheerleader and honor student has pleaded guilty to a federal terrorism charge for trying to join isis. prosecutors say jaylen young converted to islam while studying at mississippi state university and was drawn to isis in part by its online videos. she even convinced her fianci to join her. he pleaded guilty to a similar charge. the couple was arrested last summer before boarding a flight with tickets to istanbul. she faces up to 20 years in prison. it's a medical first. surgeons have successfully transplanted organs from an hiv positive donor to an hiv positive recipient. doctors at johns hopkins performed the surgery on two patients. it's a long awaited new option for patients with the a.i.d.s. virus whose organs are failing. until recently hiv positive organ harvesting was banned.
