and april 19th. the next primary is the new york primary. we're going to see a lot of all these candidates, both republicans and democrats over the next 12 days in new york state. on the republican side, looking ahead, donald trump will have to win 57% of all future delegates. it's a little bit tougher for ted cruz. he has to win 80% of all those delegates. dave evans, channel 7 eyewitness news. while there were cheers inside the rally, it was a different scene outside. hundreds of protesters lined the streets both for and against trump. eyewitness news reporter josh einiger is there with that part of our coverage. >> when they hit that magic number of 11,000, the capacity inside the venue where trump was speaking, a lot of supporters were turned away. they left the old grumman campus only to encounter a pen full of anti-trump protesters. the police had to scramble and

endear himself to new yorkers by lampooning so-called new york values. ted cruz shouted at today at a restaurant in the bronx. it happened after the bronx lighthouse prep academy canceled its bigger event with cruz. it claimed the senator from texas is racist, homophobic, and misogynous. >> his values don't reflect on us as a school. if ted cruz doesn't want us or mostly from immigrant backgrounds in this country, then we don't want him inside our school. >> so he didn't go. cruz tonight attending private fundraising events in new york city. he'll continue his campaigning in new york city with an event in brooklyn. ohio governor john kasich will also be there campaigning in brooklyn and park slope at vfw. on the democratic side, hillary clinton is launching an all-out effort to win votes in her home state. clinton will be campaigning tomorrow in new york city. on friday she'll head to buffalo and rochester.

students at one of the largest colleges in the u.s. are on edge tonight as police investigate a possible murder mystery. the body of a woman in her 20s was found at the bottom of a creek yesterday at the university of texas in austin. police have not released the victim's name nor would confirm that she was a student at the college, but classmates say she was a well known dance student. police are conducting extra patrols and warning students not to walk alone. meanwhile, police on long island are trying to figure out who would steal a wheelchair from a disabled boy. the wheelchair was stolen from outside a home in holbrook. kathleen bermelia said her 10-year-old son cody who suffers from several disorders including cerebral palsy needs the chair to get around. >> the only way i can think about it and not be sad is that somebody needed it maybe more than we did. maybe it was somebody homeless who needed to sell it for money

actually rising to near 50 by morning. it's mostly cloudy in new york city, right be a spritz, but definitely spotty drizzle or showers. it's getting steadier late morning in to the midday through 4:00. i think after 5:00 it starts to taper. i don't have showers posted at 7:00, but there will be lingering showers and the wind will also be gusty out of the south. right now it's just clouds. there's the steady showers right here. might be looking at that and saying that's pretty far away. what we'll have to watch out for on radar is a ribbon of showers that forms overnight and goes to long island and connecticut by dawn. look how that forms by 7 a.m. showers over connecticut, long island. back in to new york city and jersey shore and parts of westchester. it's getting more widespread and steadier late morning, peaking around 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning. then trying to make a quick exit during the morning commute. then we'll start to dry out patchy showers later on tonight. cloudy and windy.
