gates here with some breaks. the temperatures are at 46 degrees, feeling like the upper 30s. i will not be surprised to see them extend about 100 county, warren county or mercer with the accumulating snow. we have had a couple of ice pellets mixed in. by dawn tomorrow it shouldn't be doing much in the area. just some rain in southern new jersey that will allow those temperatures to warm a little bit. and from late morning into early evening. depends on where that band is as they will determine where that accumulating snow is and where they have been to the

surprised if they would wobble north again. it is depicted there, but there will be a band of heavy wet snow and the lighter accumulation that will be nothing off to the north. hudson valley and north of connecticut. a possibility where you would be spared from the the storm and what we need to know right now. rain mixed with that wet snow tomorrow morning, especially from the city south and west. as temperatures cool some of the snow could stick. there could be more than two inches of higher elevations. the numbers tomorrow night are dropping below freezing with the freeze watch tomorrow and down through central and southern new jersey. back to you for now.

he'll attend a town hall in syracuse. donald trump and ted cruz, they will return to the campaign trail this weekend. another slashing in the new york subway this time the victim is an israeli citizen who fell asleep on the bench and then they woke up to the attack. it happened in lower manhattan in the bleaker street section as the attacker is in the win. we are live with the very latest. >> reporter: well bill right now this might be the safest subway station with dozens of cops swarming around here. but earlier today it is a much different scene after the other slashing attack the second one here this year and now some, they cannot help, but watch their backs. >> it is the most scariest. >> reporter: riders on alert that they say will be as safe as they could get. but after the man was slashed on the subway platform this morning, following the other slashing attack here in january. some can't help, but look over their shoulder. >> and it will make me feel safe sometimes because you're looking around here early in the morning, you know, you don't feel safe anymore.

the six train this afternoon, detectives, they will continue to comb for clues, leaving no stone unturned. and as trains roll through on the uptown side that they will be checking every car of every train. it was about 3:30 a.m. when that 55-year-old man was slashed on the left side of the neck, face, and both hands, wearing traditional acidic clothing and from israel that they do not speak english. apparently became lost on the subway system. sat down and fell asleep on the subway bench and then woke up when the man tried to rob him. the victim then walked out of the station. several tourists saw him bleeding, helping him find police. they found that knife handle on the north end of the southbound 6 platform, fleaing the scene. detectives are reviewing cameras. in january a 71-year-old woman was randomly slashed on the train here leaving a four-inch

on the left side of her face. that's where the increased police presence today, some say the more cops the better. >> when you would see them and that it is that element and that they will tend to shy away. >> reporter: the man is in stable condition at fairfield hospital, described having dread locks, wearing an orange hooded sweatshirt. tonight the 16-year-old boy is being under arrest accused of bringing a knife to school and holding it to a girl's neck. police say christopher mcquad was caught with a dagger yesterday. he allegedly put the knife to the 17-year-old girl's neck and threatened to slash her throat. mcquad a charged with a weapon, menacing, and harassment. new information on two terror investigations in europe. a suspected attacker has been arrested.

airport. authorities now are looking into whether he's also the infamous man in the hat seen on video before the airport bombing. a 31-year-old belgium moraccan. no motive yet tonight for a base in texas. all we know right now the airman killed his commander then turned the gun on himself. police responded to reports of an active shooter finding the men's body inside a classroom this morning at the joint-based lackland air base in texas. two handguns were recovered. this is an isolated incident and not an act of terrorists. >> we are safe and secure. these unfortunate events happen. we have 82,000 people that come to work in joint-base san antonio every single day. just like any public and in the community we have one that might be off. >>

they raise their national league championship banner the first home game since last said. the request for the repeat has officially started. jacob degrom the starting pitcher. the mets have the lead. philly would tie, but the mets retook that lead in the 6th inning, then blew it open in the 7th. michael conforto with a big day. mets win their home opener 7-2. degrom left this game with lat tightness, but gets the win. home winners on opening day. >> it's a lot of excitement, but we need to be focused on the remaining 359 games now that we have. i'm glad that we won and i'm glad that our fans got to see us win, are excited as we plan on winning a lot more. but now it is the time to focus on 2016 for sure. >> reporter: well there you go. the mets win the game as much as what happens in the stands

right here 45. that may be the hot spot or the cold spot if you will for some of the steadier snow and maybe two to four inches of snow into parts of western new jersey as we get into the higher elevations tomorrow, most of the areas with more of a trace to a slush or two. i'll get to the snowfall maps in a moment. clouds are breaking the late period. it could be a little sunshine north and east early the rain and wet snow will be coming in by the late morning. notice the temperatures at 42 as road ways would be wet and dry and west of new york city. the question is if it is too far south. that's the trend this afternoon. i don't think that anything is

but late morning in the midday with rain in the mid-afternoon when they will mix with the wet snow that will be further north than depicted. again, temperatures that will be above freezing here where they will be wet, pivoting away into the evening hours. it should be moving out during their early evening hours. so if we get anything the roadways could be icy later on tonight. when you try to see it in april it will be difficult to do and maybe a trace or so. nothing at all north of i-84 in the hudson valley. but once you get here in new jersey that is when they could pick up even more. two to four inches of snow. partly cloudy overnight. 43 tomorrow with the messy mix

game known as jews verses nazis and posting a picture of it on >> the students were at a house at the time, but attended princeton high school. tonight one of their classmates is taking a stand. >> darla miles is at the school with a disturbing story. darla? >> reporter: this is not a new game as you mentioned, it is either called holocaust pong or alcoholic caust. and this is one of the rare photos of the game. we are told that one of the students who was at this house party when the game was being played when she asked the kids to stop she was told to stop being a party pooper. >> i just feel as though it was just so insensitive. >> reporter: it was just a three-second snap, so it took a minute to really see that their cups were arranged like a swastika and the star of david. >> i saw it on snapchat and took a screen shot. i wasn't going to do anything with it, but i showed it to one of my close friends and expressed to me that she had been at the party and asked them to stop.

at our school and people are afraid to speak up. >> a lot of the kids in this school are now going after the girl who created the blog. >> reporter: and now ponder and her parents met with the school principal today. they say that they have full confidence in the way that the school is dealing with this issue. it is also important to point out that we have spoken to a number of the students here today and they say not all the pictures, the students in the pictures participated in the drinking or the game. reporting live in princeton channel 7 eyewitness news. >> darla, thank you. new information in the civil trial against the jets brandage marshal as they have decided that there was not enough proof that he punched a woman outside a manhattan nightclub. she was testifying that the wide receiver punched her in 2012 saying that she saw the

surveillance video shows marshall's sleeves rolled down, never criminally charged. a guilty verdict in the woman of the bronx who drowned her two small children. 32-year-old flamiga was convicted of first-degree manslaughter in the deaths of her infant daughter and 4-year- old son back in 2012. prosecutors say she drowned the child in a bathtub after giving them juice mixed with windshield wiper fluid. flamiga faces up to 25 years in prison on each count. investigators in new jersey trying to generate some new leads tonight. any leads. the disappearance of that woman right there that it has been one month since she was last seen when a friend dropped her off at the train station in long branch. the 41-year-old mother shot last fall by the gunman who remains on the loose. prosecutors say they would increase their reward for information from $10,000 to $15,000. police in connecticut arrested a 73-year-old man for bank robbery.

i still like where we are with the rainfall totals and for the most part spared by this with the snow on the air and maybe just the light coating in the grassy area. we are in new jersey in higher elevations. we have a gusty wind that will be a very chilly night feeling like the 30s. we will slowly dip through the 40s, but the winds will be gusty and never totally go away and they will kick right back up tomorrow. you might say what are you talking about with a little bit of sunshine. also the wind is gusty outside of the northeast with that damp afternoon. the exception will be well to

once we get south of i-80 in new jersey, new york city and long island will be close enough to the storm. but the best chance in new jersey and the higher elevations, that it will be probably warren county and western morris and somerset county. and as you notice by the temperatures, mainly above freezing. that is why they would be wet. with that in mind that they could be icy early saturday morning because of the slick spots on the roads. look for a trace that will be wet snowflakes to as much as that slushy temperatures. and a few inches here that will be over western new jersey again. the better chance of that in pennsylvania and your seven-day forecast is looking like this on sunday after a few icy roads earlier. 48 in the afternoon. prepare for rain on tuesday and after that we will get to a nice dry stretch for wednesday, thursday, friday into next
