>> donald trump made an announced trip to one world trade. cruz spent time in colorado the state gop convention. he made a stop at a brooklyn bakery this week and expected to be back in new york state next week. and back out here live, a passionate crowd out here excited for clinton to take the stage in the next few minutes. you saw that video of trump making that visit and during that trip, to that memorial. we'll bring you more for the events and all the their attention on new york. i think we're about i believe clinton is about to stage. if you take a look, we'll listen for a moment. if in fact, she is about to take the stage, it certainly appears that she is. again, this is an excited crowd.

ten days away, april 19th. stay with eyewitness news and abc news for complete coverage. new at 6:00, the fbi's probe into nypd corruption is causing a new fallout directed at mayor deblaz zhou. the u.s. attorney reportedly opened an inquiry into the fundraising activities of two businessmen working on behalf of the mayor. eyewitness news reporter stephon is in mid-town. >>reporter: the mayor will be performing at the charity dinner. this as eyewitness news learned that the mayor returned campaign -- reported tied in an fbi corruption probe. >> this isn't a good day for the department. >> that was on thursday. the top cop announcing a shake up in the nypd. officers reassigned as the

rose larger. did officers exchange favors for gifts in the orthodox community. they have -- the former owner of the now closed hudson river. it's a 12 million scheme. the scheme is reportedly unrelated to the focus of the corruption investigation. the parale have ties to the -- who served on a committee that planned the manager's inaugural celebration in 2014. his wife have contributed almost $5,000 to the mayor's campaign. he's returning that money. a spokesperson for the mayor says we're confident the campaign has conducted itself legally and appropriately at all times. >> as always, we'll have to go with, we believe the truth as we believe it. >> sources say the investigation began in 2013. looking into police, community relations in bureau park. relationships

this video appears to show mary hastings, a teacher in beaumont texas hit a student five times while yelling at him and calling him an idiot. she then appears to mock the student's crying. investigators charge hastings with assault. the school placed her on administrative leave. new at 6:00, port authority police say they arrested a teenager armed with a dangerous weapon. officers seized a fully loaded handgun and bullets from a 13-year-old who virginia. police got a tip and met his bus at the port authority bus terminal. the boy told police he wanted the gun for protection. he's held in juvenile detention. his family has been notified. authorities on long island opened an abuse allegation after someone abandoned a dog with its mouth taped shut. the german sheppard's mouth was taped shut in linden hearst. the dog seems to

the high today only got up to 43. and just to put that in perspective, that's a normal low for this time of year. that's your normal overnight low. that was our high today. a normal high for april the 9th. it's 59 degrees. 86 was your record in 1991. it's 40 in new york -- 39 at jfk airport. a couple of snow showers moving through parts of semester tick county new jersey and colder towards the south towards tom's river. 36 there and the reason for that, the precipitation has been coming down more heavily there. grabbing that colder air from up above and dragging it all the way down to the surface, and that has caused snow. a burst of snow over southern ocean county. the precipitation is lightening, so that's changing over to rain, but snow in flying in the air. new jersey getting an inch on the grassy surfaces there.

snow shower diving out of sestic county and mars county crossing overi 80. here's our future cast. you see snow or rain exiting off to the south and east by 10:00 p.m. still could be mixed precipitation over eastern long island and toms river and points south. but around here, and also north and west of the city, it's about the falling temperatures overnight. by 7:00 in the morning, we're down to 30 in central park. that approaches the record low of 28. that's the record low for tomorrow morning. we have 20s in many of the suburbs and teens. not much of a recovery, but warmer than today. getting up to 48. that's 10 degrees below average. at least tomorrow, we'll have sunshine. clouds increase tomorrow morning. there can be a shower or two in spots after midnight tomorrow and early monday morning.
