the 20s in some areas. right now cloudy and 46, a southwest wind around 6 miles per hour. temperatures staying pretty steady, if not falling just a couple of degrees overnight. maybe with main mum around 42 3:00 or 4:00. back up to 42 by 6:00 a.m. i think the next six to eight hours we're mainly dry. there could be some showers north and west of the city. 45 right now in teterboro, at jfk, 37 at monticello, 36 your cold spot at toms river of all places. that's because you've actually had mainly clear skies down there, allowing for that pretty decent radiational cooling, as we like to call it. but clouds are increasing otherwise. there is some rain off to our west. it's inevitable that some of this gets into part of the tri- state during the next 12 hours. i don't think it's a washout during the day tomorrow but there will be some spotty showers in and around the city. more numerous shower activity is relegated to areas north

i think during the afternoon we could actually see a few breaks of sunshine. so the best shot at showers is right around dawn, right through about midday, then we could get a few peeks of sun. that gets temperatures up to 58 in the park, maybe 62 at toms river but staying in the upper 40s well north and west at monticello. so, yes, it's getting milder but the problem is we have this unsettled weather moving in. on tuesday we probably will have a steadier batch of rain with the cold front dragging through the tri-state area. late in the week this looked like a nice forecast as we headed into next friday and saturday but now it could get damp or cloudy as the low pressure tries to move back towards the atlantic seaboard, at least increasing our cloud cover. worst-case scenario, we get some rain for friday and saturday. your accuweather forecast, 7:00 a.m. showers are mainly north and west of new york city. temperatures around 4 3. then it's kind of a spotty shower during the daylight hours. 58 degrees, maybe some peeks
