>> and i'm shirleen allicot in for joe torres. new jersey getting hit with heavy downpours. here's a look at the river from somerset county. that's where they got several inches and the river overflowed. >> the weather in suburbs seeing heavy rain. this is monroe in orange county. a car over there washed out. will the rain continue tonight? meteorologist jeff smith here with the first look at the accuweather forecast. jeff. >> sandra, there's rivers and streams in somerset county running at or above bank full. there's a flood warning in that area through 8:00 p.m. and new flood advisories, southern parts of orange county here. pretty close to monroe where you saw the video and northern orange and southern duchess and ones ter county and a flash flood watch for north western new jersey. any storm that develops

heavy thunderstorms. if you're unlucky enough to fall under this, you're going to get heavy rain. watching storms and showers moving into northern orange. that's why we have the flood advisory. putnam county moving into sen. parts of duchess and around the five bureaus of new york city, we've been dry for the past few hours, but there's showers developing so you want to grab the umbrella during the evening and heavy downpours across ocean county dawn this morning. flooding problems there and parts of hunter county, three to 4 inches of rain causing flooding problems in and around the fleming ton area. here's our future cast. scattered showers and storms out there. it could contain downpours and grab your umbrellas if you're headed out tonight and tomorrow. we'll tell you when it drys out in your accuweather forecast. >> thank you, jeff. we'll see you then. two people are dead from flash flooding.

got 6 inches of rain in a matter of 2 hours. flood waters rushed through the main streets sweeping up cars. in one instance you see people here, they had to form a human train to rescue a driver trapped in his car. people in homes and buildings had to quickly evacuate. maryland's governor declared a state of emergency. >> it was shocking and devastating, but what was incredible, that was the bad devastation. the good side was watching heroic rescues and seeing the first responders and the neighbors helping those out of the cars as they were floating by. >> that rushing water caused a ditch into the streets. town officials say it is the worst damage they have seen in decades. police are searching for a man who tried to rape a woman in a church on staten island.

suspect has suuo-o- he's identified as asunicon moran. the man grabbed the woman by the threat and pushed her off. she was able to fight him off the nypd on alert after someone got ahold of a police radio and started making threats. someone was targeting a police captain and sent police on a chase trying to track him down. eyewitness news reporter aj. >>reporter: sandra, whether this was a prank or real, they're not -- they're sending warnings at the midtown precinct as they respond to calls. who is behind these unauthorizes admissions is a miss tory and how they were able to tap being investigated. >> it was a seemingly innocent

went out over several nypd frequencies early saturday evening. but minutes later, the unknown voice start the making direct threats to the midtown south precinct captain. >> captain, remember how you put me in jail. i'm out and i'm putting a bullet in your head. >> officers responded to the numerous unauthorized calls around 5:42 p.m. he said -- he said he was standing next to a van in time square and challenged the captain to find come and spot me. >> continuing to taunt the captain, the suspect later said he was inside the wall greens at time square, but searchs found nothing. >> i'm right here at the wall greens. >> some people tried to [indiscernible] >> at this point, investigators aren't sure the person is using a lost or stolen police radio, but they're warning patrols to be careful with calls coming over the radio.

calls. the balloon is engulfed in flames. >> among those killed is the pilot and the own of the company that operated the balloon, nickels. >> he loved what he did. his up most priority was the safety to his passengers. >> it's very, very rare that we see an accident of this magnitude occur in the united states. >> fellow pilots and friends calling the accident tragic, but rare. this crash is raising questis just 2 years ago, the ntsb called for more regulations of the hot air balloon tour industry in a letter to the faa cited operational deficiencies in the industry. now before those recommendations are revisited, officials say investigating this accident in texas thoroughly is priority. >> we're here to find out what happened, so that we can keep it

flood advisories issued here near southern duchess and certain putnam getting heavy downpours. i wouldn't be shocked to see ponding of water or flooding on that interstate and heavy showers and downpours moving into orange county from -- we had showers developing near jersey city moving northeast. those have weakened, but one shower, one downpour popped up over the bronx heading g the next 15 to 30 minutes and also showers and storms over parts of ocean county $30 minutes and also showers and storms over parts of ocean county and new jersey where we had flooding report earlier and also more recently flooding reports in the fleming ton -- in the fleming ton area. here's our future cast overnight into the day tomorrow. same deal. it could be a shower or thunderstorm at any point. you want to grab the umbrella and we dry out by tuesday into the day on wednesday. here's your accuweather forecast for
