website at abc7ny.com. reporting live in wayne, tim fleischer, channel 7 news. police are trying to figure out what caused a fiery crash on a highway in new jersey. news 7 was over the scene right after the crash happened. all southbound lanes were shut down. we just got new cell phone video of the truck in flames. police say the truck driver hit the center divider and then veered right and crashed. the driver is said to be okay. the fire is now under control. however it's not when those lanes will be reopened. well, the grandson of the late mob boss john gotti is under arrest tonight for drug charges. police arrested 23-year-old john gotti, his girlfriend and five others as part of a larger fbi investigation dubbed operation beach party. the younger gotti lives in the same howard beach home as his grandfather. this was the first time that law enforcement agents were

for the public's help to help find the killer of a jogger in queens. a $10,000 reward is now being offered. 30-year-old katrina was sexually assaulted and strangled tuesday evening while on her daily jog in a secluded section of spring creek park in howard beach. lucy is there with the latest. lucy. >> reporter: liz, among the police are looking for we're told the woman's ear bud and sneaker. the jogger was only at 30 years old and at the peak of fitness. police believe that she fought with every ounce of muscle she had. she fought until she couldn't anymore. >> this woman put up a ferocious fight right to the end. so she was beaten quite severely. >> reporter: tragically in the

as her sexually violated and strangled body was left face down in these marshes. tonight teams of search crews continue to tackle the dense weaveds -- weeds 300 feet at a time with machetes. they don't want to damage any possible clues as they clear the area. >> we're clearing a vast area in the back, adjacent to the crime scene. and we're conducting a search for evidence. >> reporter: 30-year-old her nightly run in howard beach. it was early tuesday evening, still bright outside. several private security cameras caught her jogging by. but she never came back out. her father, a retired new york city firefighter grew alarmed, called for help and went searching along with police. that's when his worst nightmare came to pass. >> the mother and father just visibly shaken. they want closer, they want justice. they want to be able to bury

who had been teaching summer classes in london. the five other victims survived. police say the attacker has mental health issues and do not believe the stabbings were terror related. well, president obama gave an update a short time ago on the campaign to destroy isis. he spoke to reporters after meeting with his national security council. he says isis is losing territory in syria and iraq but conceded that it is shifting its tactics to plni inspiring attacks elsewhere in the world. he also spoke about an expansion of the mission against isis strikes he authorized this week on the libya city. >> beyond syria and iraq, we will work with allies and partners to go after isil wherever it tries to spread. at the request of libya's government of national accord, we are conducting strikes in support of government forces. and we will continue to support

few mornings, it has not felt like august. more like september. >> early september. we're going to heat things up. humidity, you will notice a big difference. the problem is you have to deal with a couple thunderstorms. it will not ruin your saturday. but there will be a couple times that you have to go inside because of the storms rolling by. one thing i wanted to point out while the beach weather is spanningtacular, rip current risks go into saturday. not as bad on sunday. they go to moderate to high with this on shore flow. we're at 77 right now. south wind at 12. the high in the lower 80s. a few degrees below average. there's your sunrise and sunset times. weather headlines look like this. the humidity spikes tomorrow night. saturday, hazy skies. a thunder threat in the middle part of the day. later in the day, the storms leave the scene. then we're back to beautiful on sunday. jersey shore at 77.

temperature is nice and warm. even the beaches in the mid-70s right now. sunshine through evening. clear skies overnight. another sunny day tomorrow and the low humidity lasts through the day. satellite pictures are clear. there's the high in cape cod with the on shore flow. that's our saturday weather maker right there going into the great lakes. that's a 24-hour loop. the storm is a hurricane making landfall in belize and it will be a depression in the next few hours. you see it leaving guatemala and going into southern mexico. a big rainstorm will continue here. several inches of rain for southern mexico. here is the storm track for the weekend. right through saturday evening with this. tomorrow morning, very comfortable. lower 60s. going through the afternoon, a few patchy high clouds.
