tube and the north tube. however, the center tube is the tube closed down. we still have a minor delay, but something to think about as you head out. and the new jersey turnpike, truck lane south of exit 13. 7 trains are in that fast track work going on and our street cleaning rules are in effect. >> thank you, 4:32. developing of the jersey shore. what caused a deadly house fire. eyewitness news reporter is live with a.j. >> that's right, two men lost their lives overnight in that vicious blaze that ripped through this home on 14th avenue. not far from b street. at this point, they are investigating what caused this blaze. police tape is blocking off what remains of this charred out home. the fire broke out around 9:45 last night as flames quickly spread throughout. several fire departments responded to the blaze, but unfortunately, two men were not

time. the charred remains and frame of the home are now all that is left as it's a complete loss. belmar mayor called the blaze tragic and a tweet posted just hours ago. again, we are still trying to get an understanding as to if this home was someone that lived in the belmar area. they are not releasing the names until family members have been notified. this vicious blaze that took several hours to put completely out. live in belmar this morning. channel 7 eyewitness news. >> a.j., thank you. 4:33, new video just in of a truck fire causing traffic problems. cell phone video shot by eyewitness news reporter, a.j. ross, showing flames shooting out of the trailer. shortly after 3:00 a.m. the driver was able to get out safely. >> the man accused of killing

a judge this morning. diana rocco is live in q gardens with details on how to track down the suspect. >> michelle, good morning. as police continue to search for a motive. it was a hit-and-run that happened minutes after these murders that led to 35-year- old, oscar morell. he morning, arraigned on two counts of first-degree murder. morell is now charged with killing a queens imam and his friend. queens precinct yesterday after police took him into custody at his brooklyn home. the search turned up a murder weapon and clothes matching. imam and his assistant were killed as they left afternoon prayer in ozone park. surveillance video shows what is believed to be morell shooting them in the back of the head. a chevy trailblazer was driven

man on a bicycle. that's what led them to morell's east new york home. >> right now, we can't explain why this person was there. he was there just prior to that. we have him on video, just 8 minutes prior to the homicide. we'll put those facts together and explore his life to see what's going on. >> the muslim community in queens made it clear they have felt targeted this morning. police have no the yet classified this a hate crime. into morell's past. he has also been charged with second-degree possession of a murder weapon. he will be arraigned in court here later today. we're live in q gardens, channel 7 eyewitness news. >> all right, thank you. at 4:35, new this morning, new york city agreed to pay more than $7 million filed by the family. in the pink houses back in

settlement will include a $25,000 payment himself. and $4.1 million from the city. >> happening today, the former newtown middle school accused of bringing a loaded gun into school will be in court. jason adams will make his case for a judge to allow him into a probation program. he was charged in april with carrying a pistol into school. the program could lead to having the charges dropped. >> the city's plan to open a homeless shelter a lot of pushback. dozens of people took to the streets vowing to derail a plan. the shelter is expected to open october 1 and house 110 families. there will be no children under 18. the city promises round the clock security supervised by the nypd. safety is their main concern. >> we don't want the homeless shelter because of the safety of our children. >> there are three schools, one

the corner from this facility. >> this will be the first shelter. though there is another one mile and a half away. the neighborhood does have an obligation to house the homeless and they are committed to finding a better location. >> 4:37. an olympic celebration being blamed for a scare that paralyzed kennedy airport for hours. panicked passengers were evacuated from terminals 1 and 8. officers swarm the terminals evidence of a shooting was found. abc news confirms a caller confused excitement over usain bolt's victory for gun shots. the port authority is planning to review how it handled the shooter scare. >> mayor de blasio will push for washington to fund the battle against zika as the city's health department calls for more spraying to prevent mosquito born illnesses. although no zika has been

deadly police involved shooting. the officials say the arrest happened last night, helped clear the streets of protesters. the mayor put in a teen curfew in an effort to curb violence after a police officer shot and killed a man who police say was armed during a traffic stop saturday night. the shooting sparked two nights of unrest, including the widespread destruction of property and several shootings. >> the people continue to have reaction we've seen the last days, continue to to do things that threaten people who live in those neighborhoods. it's going to make it hard to address other issues in the future. >> milwaukee's police chief called the violence unanticipated. >> 4:43 is our time. police in mexico searching up to a dozen gang members. mexican police say the gang

a sixth person was found in the debris. two victims are 3 and 8 years old. a 555-year-old man was locatedded and unharmed. investigators are trying to figure out what caused the fiery blast last wednesday in silver spring. this next story really stinks. literally, for a family in new jersey. this is the nightmare a homeowner is dealing with right now. backed up sewage has been flooding the family's basement home. the sewer backup started saturday. missjohnson says she is waiting for a private company to look into the problem, although she believes a solution is on the municipal side. >> they told me that is not their fault because their water system is -- i can't get any help. >> department of public works spokesperson said the problem is between the main and can the home, so it is the responsibility of the

warmer than normal. southerly wind. we will be looking at very warm and humid weather today. storms prediction center of the national weather service. will predict a slight risk of a thunderstorm today. now what that means is we're in the slight risk category for strong to severe thunderstorm, which generally every time the national weather service issues a slight risk, a slight risk to me is like what? 10, 20 percent. a good 70% chance of a strong thunderstorm over parts of the area. a slight risk. somebody is going to see this in the area. you'll see here, back to our west, showers and thunderstorms along this front. so really, what happens with this is parts of the area will see or you're in for a risk of a gusty thunderstorm. they start firing up around 3:00 or 4:00 to see one around the five borrows and see how they come through with this front coming over us tonight. you see by 9:00, 7:00, 8:00,

today, nfl quarterback will be in court. he's threatening to kill his girlfriend. arrested earlier this year after he hit his exgirlfriend during a fight over another woman. manziel slapped her so hard, it ruptured her eardrum. he will be in court died in the devastating flooding in louisiana. volunteers are headed now to help thousands of people forced out of their homes. that after heavy rain left entire communities under water. louisiana's governor is urging residents to remain in shelters and not travel along flooded roads until that water has receded. >> caught on camera, a tornado moving through indiana. it hit a baseball field and caused an explosion.

is still closed down both ways because of equipment problems. the gothels bridge will reopen. we have alternate side of the parking rules in effect. >> developing this morning, two men killed in a fire overnight. >> flames tore through a home down the jersey shore. a.j. ross is live on the scene in belmar. a.j., good morning. >> reporter: police remain on scene at this hour and this investigation into what caused this blaze continues. sadly, two men lost their lives over night, who couldn't get out of this home on 14th avenue. i want to show you video sent to us by a viewer, according to investigators, the fire broke out around 9:45 last night and flames quickly spread throughout the home. several fire departments, including belmar, avon, spring lake, wahl, and neptune responded to the blaze.

man suspected of gunning down an imam. charged with murder. today, he makes his first court appearance. diana rocco is live. diana. >> michelle, good morning. as police continue to search for a motive this morning, 35- year-old, oscar morell will see a judge later today here in queens. he is being arraigned on two counts of first-degree murder. morell is now charged with friend. he was held yesterday after police took him into custody outside his brooklyn home. a search turned up what is believed to be the murder weapon and clothes. imam and his assistant were killed as they left afternoon prayer in ozone park on saturday. surveillance video shows morell shooting them in the back of

dozens of people who live there took to the streets vowing to derail a plan to house the homeless at a holliday inn. the shelter is expected to open october 1 and house 110 families. there will be no children under 18 and the city promises around the clock security, supervised by the nypd. safety is their main concern. >> we don't want the homeless shelter because of the safety of our children. community board 5, there is another a mile and a half away. the neighborhood does have an obligation to house the homeless and they are committed to finding a better location. it's now official, a burst of celebrations for the olympics. jfk is blamed for that scare that paralyzed the airport for how hours. passengers panicked and they were forced to leave terminals 1 and 8 sunday night after someone called 911. officers swarmed the terminals and search the the airport, but
