look at the front of the home. you can see where the first floor is completely gutted. the front of the house is pretty much charred. but i also want to point your attention to where the firefighters are standing right now, those two cars. there are some initial reports that fire from these vehicles may have kept this family trapped inside of the home. now we also have cell phone video of this fire, where witnesses describe hearing explosions. this happened around 11:30 last night here on washington avenue little ferry. in fact a police lieutenant just happened to be driving by, heard the explosions. he says when he arrived here on the scene, there were children being lowered from the second floor to escape the flames. >> reporter: as i was passing this house, i heard a big pop, knew it was some type of explosion. not sure if it came from the garage or the cars parked in the driveway and the whole

is unconfirmed at this point how many family members live in this home but there could be up to six people injured. ken as you mentioned there is a 5-year-old being treated for burns at hackensack medical center. two women are being treated for second and third degree burns and as you can see, the cause of the fire is still under investigation. reporting live in little ferry, darla miles channel 7 eyewitness news. also developing this morning police are still on the scene in new jersey where the body of a missing was found buried in a backyard. eyewitness news reporter diana rocco is live in long branch with the latest on this investigation. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. after missing for five months this is not the outcome rita julius's family have been waiting for. two people are under arrest.

who does live in this moment. julius went missing on march 8th when a friend dropped her off at the long branch train station. she was found last night. circumstances surrounding her disappearance and murder are unclear this morning but police did spend the night focusing their efforts on harris' backyard. harris and sweeney are now charged with first degree murder, desecration of human remains and tampering with physical evidence. julius had just recovered from being shot eight times while sitting in a car in the front in november in linden, new jersey when she disappeared. julius did leave behind two teenage children. an autopsy is scheduled later this morning. police hope that will give them the cause of death here. live in long branch, new jersey diana rocco channel 7 eyewitness news. >> thank you so much. major break in a missing persons case in think in think in. also police arrested two

police questioning a 19-year-old college student at florida. austin har after after vagilia tacked michelle and john stevens outside their home. both were stabbed and the suspect get this, bit stevens's face off. a neighbor jeff fisher ran over to help but was stabbed five time. when deputies arrived it took a taser, a k-9 and several officers to stop the attack. >> obviously we don't know what mental health issues that are going to have to be investigated here. earlier in the night ha after stormed out of dinner with his parents. the teen may have been on hallucinogenic drugs. an investigation has been launched into video posted on social media showing an officer holding a woman up against a car. the twitter video was posted earlier this week and appears to show a black woman, will

a neighbor here, who also reports hearing explosions on washington avenue around 11:30 last night here in little ferry. in fact a police lieutenant also heard that explosion. he was in the neighborhood at the time and when he drove by the house it was fully engulfed in flames and the people inside were des sprattly trying to get out. -- desperately trying to get out. >> started breaking out windows out. pulled several people out of the building. >> reporter: take a live look at the house again. you can still see where the fire department are hitting hot spots. i want to point your attention two cars in the driveway. there are initial reports that the explosions from the cars and flames from those vehicles may have prevented the family from getting out.

5:20. caught on camera. terrifying ordeal for a man who tried to stop a carjacker. the victim left his vehicle mailbox. he got his hand stuck while the crook started to speed away. the victim was dragged several blocks. >> don't try to stop somebody stealing your car, you are going to end up getting hurt. >> i was petrified. petrified that he could have been hurt, he could have been ran over. >> the car was found abandoned and trashed. police hope the surveillance video will lead to an arrest. crews are searching for more victims of the deadly and devastating flooding happening

was fully engulfed in flames. we have seen firefighters inside, hitting those hot obviously to make sure this does not kickback up. i want to point your attention to the garage. you can see they are in there turning over hot spots, but there are also initial reports that this may have been where the fire originated, or the cars caught fire, which may have trapped the family inside of the home. we also have cell phone video of the flames at the time of this fire, when witnesses heard those explosions last night here on washington avenue and little ferry. in fact, a police lieutenant happened to be driving in the neighborhood and he also heard the explosions about came over to help rescue the family from the home. witnesses say there were kids jumping from the window, from the second story window to escape the flames. >> yeah it was like one explosion in the garage and within 10 minutes the house was up in flames. i have seen like three people
