finally tonight, animal rights activists are in an uproar over amy schumer. >> fur trade, death trade! >> reporter: amy schumer's book signing turned into a bit of a train wreck earlier this week. tmz releasing this video of at least five angry animal rights protesters storming schumer's event in new york tuesday. the outspoken comedian who's with the lower back tattoo" couldn't get a word in edgewise with the furious hecklers. the hairy situation caused by a canada goose jacket schumer was spotted wearing last winter. the popular and pricey brand coming under fire after p.e.t.a. accused them of using coyote fur in an apparently cruel way. a spokesperson for canada goose tells abc news, we are deeply

a false shots fired call at jfk airport. >> we begin with breaking news. two u.s. olympic swimmers late tonight yanked off a plane home from rio by brazilian cops who apparently really want to know what happened the night they and ryan lochte claim they were robbed at gunpoint. now an international incident. jim dolan here with the breaking news. >> u.s. olympic swimmers jack conger and gunnar bentz were pulled off of flights that would have brought them home to the the swimmers along with champion ryan lochte are under investigation for a report they made to brazilian authorities that alleged they were robbed at gunpoint after partying early sunday morning in rio. tonight outrage in brazil after police cast doubt on the swimmers' story. >> reporter: at the center of it all is u.s. olympic swimmer ryan lochte, twelve-time medal winner in the olympics, and the belief of many in brazil that he lied to police in rio about being robbed at gunpoint as he

three teammates. >> the guy pulled out his gun. he talked it. put it to my forehead and said get down. and i was like -- i put my hands up. i was like whatever. >> reporter: it is just that cavalier attitude the judge talked about and the fact that video evidence shows him returning much later than he told police that has police questioning his story. lochte told them the muggers flashed badges and took their money and wallets but not their cell phones. earlier today a judge in brazil issued a warrant to h s searched and their passports confiscated on suspicion of filing a false sworn statement to police. lochte posted from the bar the men were at earlier in the night. the judge in the case wanted to know why the men looked so unphased in these images supposedly taken after they were robbed at gunpoint. the u.s. olympic committee so far, as confused as anyone. >> i couldn't possibly comment

one of them but the union that represents the cops tell us that isn't true. here at terminal 8, when they arrived to the first report of an active shooter, they didn't have a full picture of what was going on until they went in to the building and went in to the security room there. then when another report came in at terminal 1, they had the same problem on a night of pure pandemonium. >> reporter: sunday night's spectacle at jfk is scary enough much less to experience in person. >> terrifying. i think it was the worst night of my life. >> reporter: but the union representing the port authority cops said they were doing exactly what cops are trained to do. it's the panic, the rumors, the uncertainty. that's what's raising questions now. people ran through security doors on to the tarmac. at one point someone pulled the emergency chute on this 747. now a flood of officials are asking the question so many passengers had for days.

known that it was a false alarm they could have made an announcement about it to calm the people down. >> reporter: you'd think so but eyewitness news has learned it isn't that easy because each terminal has its own system. port authority cops can't make a simple announcement from their main dispatch center. the union says they can't access hundreds of closed circuit camera feeds without physically responding to the terminal's security room costing time and manpower and potential telling eyewitness news his cops, quote, entered the terminal with no information as to the potential location of a shooter. police officers, he added, were forced to enter blind. fortunately because of a shift change he said there were more cops than usual, around 80. the nypd fled at the airport with hundreds more. >> as you would know, we invested a huge amount of money in the nypd personnel on our social media outreach capabilities for just this type

rated rant sitting across from him on the train, she claims he was fondling himself underneath his backpack. the young man humiliated by carter's screams left the train at the next stop. >> what made me focus more on him when i heard the little girl sitting across from me say, mommy, what is he doing? so when i looked across and i seen his hand motion, i said oh, no, we are not doing this on the train. so i closed out my kindle app and i opened up the camera on my let it rip. >> and this new video tonight from another woman who claims the same man with a backpack committed a lewd act on the subway in front of her earlier this year. you can see the entire uncensored video of carter's subway interaction with the man at abc7ny. we do warn you the language is graphic and it is not appropriate for everyone. in new jersey a second person has died tonight from a vicious house fire.

a grandmother has died. she was burned over 90% of her body. earlier today we learned a 5-year-old girl had died. police officer on patrol heard a pop and found the home in flames. some residents jumped or dropped from windows in the three-story multi-family house. muslim leaders meeting tonight ahead of their planned news conference tomorrow over the assassination of an imam and his friend in queen will be held at city hall though prosecutors say the motive of the murder is unclear, many muslims believe the men were targeted. >> we wanted to make sure the perpetrator is brought to justice and the full force of the law is applied to him. we wanted to make sure this is classified as a hate crime. >> oscar morel is being held without bail on first degree murder charges.

the weapon used to commit the murders outside of a mosque in ozone park saturday. two people charged with the murder of a woman who vanished in new jersey tonight now linked to a separate shooting of the same victim earlier this year. andre harris and jennifer sweeney arraigned this afternoon, charged with murdering tyrita julius. tyrita's mom said sweeney dropped her daughter off at the train station before she disappeared in march. her body found last night, buried in the backyard of a home in long branch, owned by harris. >> i just want to know why. it reason. you've got to have a reason why. >> now we know. there was a glimmer of hope for a while. but now we know. >> harris is sweeney also charged with attempted murder after they shot tyrita and her child back in november. i'm meteorologist jeff smith in for lee goldberg.

with new jersey governor chris christie by his side, donald trump tonight receiving his first national intelligence briefing. this as he shakes up his campaign by demoting his top advisor. trump invited the media in to what was build as his national security round table. cameras were rolling when he headed to fbi headquarters where he spent two hours getting briefed on national security. and today's developments coming just hours after trump announced shift in his campaign. trump is bringing in breitbart news chairman steven bannon as campaign ceo and promoting pollster kelly ann conway to campaign manager. trump campaign chair paul maniford under scrutiny for his work of russia backed groups in ukraine will maintain his role.

tonight a dirty little secret about landlords and how they can use a widely circulated blacklist to try to deny prospective tenants to apartments in new york city. it comes for housing cases but they say it's incomplete

will say to me, you know, we really like to help you but the landlord really isn't going to take you. >> reporter: margot thought she could easily get an apartment because of her solid credit score. she had no idea a dispute with her landlord put her on what many call the blacklist. they list people who have been sued by landlords. but some argue it doesn't tell the whole story. >> ceilings were open. i had gas line cut with gas leaking in to my apartment. until i was out of there. and i finally went in to a stipulation to give up the apartment because i really feared for my safety. >> reporter: miller's experience shows up as an eviction. despite the fact that she says she settled with her landlord. >> a lot of people end up in housing court whereas a tenant they're in the right. sometimes you with held rent because the conditions were horrible. sometimes you had to take your
