are investigating whether 26-year- old carmelo pinellas was speeding when he lost control of his car and went airborne, striking two cars in the other direction. pinellas, his cousin patricia and his 10-year-old son, christopher were all killed. patricia's 3-year-old daughter was also injured, but is expected to survive. also killed in the crash, 81-year-old edelson. shelby thorough was just released from the hospital. khedezia been childhood sweethearts and were set to mary in april. kristen thorn channel 7 eyewitness news. the hunt is on for the gunman whose stray bullet

the crash remain in the hospital. two people are in serious condition while the others are in either fair or good condition. a bus driver was killed friday morning in newark when the bus he was driving in was t-boned by another. a memorial service is being held today for a bronx deli worker who was shot and killed by a man who stole a police officer's gun. friends and relatives will pay wally camera. after the service, camera's body will be shipped back to his native country, maale. police say a problematic customer guzman, grabbed an officer's gun and fatally shot him. dwight godden spoke on the radio today among new concerns about his health.

unclear. the largest fire began when a power line came down in a field south of spokane. >> fire behavior is challenging and we do have some serious winds out here today. we knew with a red flag warning this could be a possibility. authorities have reported no injuries. together the telefires have burned nearly seven square miles. a paraglider crashed into a church. eyewitnesses say he spiraled out of control before he crashed into the roof of the church. the pilot was pronounced dead at the scene. no one else was hurt. a federal judge in texas has temporarily blocked an obama administration on bathroom rights for transgender

firefighters suffered minor injuries while putting out a small fire at a church no queens. the fdny responded to the cathedral yesterday morning. firefighters believe the fire began in an electrical closet that was brought under control after about an hour. the injured firefighters were treated at the hospital and released. new at noon a man was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a deadly jose benitez is charged with leaving the scene of the accident. police say benitez was taken into custody after he fled on foot. the decades-old case of a mother convicted for her own son's death in new jersey will drag on even longer.

could really repeat this tomorrow and have a nice weather pattern in place for much of the week. looking from lower manhattan to brooklyn. i love this view today. getting out, finding a way to enjoy it. getting numbers like this in august is rare as we all know. northwest winds at 9 miles per hour. so far the temperature in the city has been 76 degrees, i think we'll beat that. but if you compare it to the we were yesterday the same time in monticello. 5 to 10 degrees cooler than we were in yesterday in spots. you can feel the difference as well as see it in the air. looking at the evening forecast going through 5:00 or 6:00. temperatures will be in the upper 70s, mid 70s tonight, 50s and 60s expected. not only do we have the cool air coming in from the northwest, but we have mostly

of the day, escapes right back into the atmosphere. we let the futurecast roll into thursday. a unique front quickly disappears into the dry air. we'll watch for that to happen. i think we should talk temperatures at night. 50s and 60s showing up tonight at 10:00. as low as 56 in monticello. a lot of spots dropping into the upper 50s north and west of the city. we wake up to cool temperatures. we could see a few 40s, i wouldn't be surprised especially tuesday morning just to the north and west of the valley. once again tuesday night to wednesday, same story, we are teetering right there on the upper 40s and low to mid-50s. that will be the coolest temperatures we have seen all season. daytime highs are the coolest since we have seen since the beginning of august. northwest winds 15 to 20 miles per hour.
