the weekend when calvin washington was arrested on dui charges. according to an incident report obtained by wach fox news, the county counsel member crash into another vehicle. he was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and two people from the other car were taken to the hospital. one needed surgery and was unconscious. the report goes on to state that the officer who arrested washington could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath the notice bloodshot hospital. washington said he had one beer at a friends house before officer say he felt a sobriety test. he was arrested and taken to center. next day. washington was not at tonight's county council meeting. while there was no mention of his name during the session, corey rush talk about the incident after tonight's meeting.>> we have made

hours a day on our website at wach.com an absolutely beautiful day across the midlands. warm temperatures out there. lots of sunshine. even as the clouds began to work their way in. we are turning our attention to a line of showers and thunderstorms in georgia. as you travel along 20 toward atlanta, we have strong stender -- thunderstorms. we see showers in the greenville and spartanburg area at this 10:00 hour. we're seeing that strong impact of storms somewhat weakening as they continue to push into the midlands and toward the palmetto state. we will see a line of these showers pushing through between 1 am and 3 am. we are not looking at an organized severe weather threat but it could be windy and sounds of thunder may wake you. keep that in mind as you head to bed this evening. we are very mild out there. 50s and 60s. we are likely to see a midnight high temperature as we head

we will rebound d some, but down to about 61 at midnight with thunderstorms around the area. 55 degrees at 3 am and 49 degrees by 6 am. above the average temperature. through the day, temperatures not expected to make it back to the 61 degrees things to a cold front moving through the area. just how cold will it get behind this front for the next couple of days? we will take a look at that and some more chance of rain in your full forecast coming up later on. a richland county deputy was fired today after sheriff leon lott said the man stole something that was not even worth a dime. sheriff lott said it happened when deputy caleb room and another deputy were responding to a mess the dispute in northeast columbia last week. lott says that broom defaced a poster of africa that was hanging on a wall in an attempt to make a racial slur. event stole a piece of double-

lott says they will not tolerate that behavior. >> it may sound small, probably valued less than $.10. it is effect that he stole something. that is what he is being charged with.>> caleb broom was with the richland county sheriff's department for two years. if he is convicted on the misconduct in office charge, he could face up to a year in prison. this afternoon, a judge set his bond at $10,000. breaking news story that we night. richland county coroner has and killed in northeast richland county. investigators say that 18-year- old jayla josie was shot in the back around 9 pm last night. he was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. jos reyes has been charged in the crime. deputies arrested him this morning. investigators say reyes taught the teen during an attempted robbery.

the skywach for radar. we do have just to our west, right up to aiken county, the georgia side, severe thunderstorm watch. it has to do with these thunderstorms that are currently moving through parts of georgia. taking a look at the last three hours in the movement of the storms, most of them moving off to the east at anywhere from 20 miles per hour to 30 miles per hour along the eye 20 corridor. as far as these storms beginning to impact the augusta area and working into aiken county, let's take a look at some of the cities. these are just outside of our viewing area. around the martina area within the next 26 minutes. the good news is we will lose a little punch if you will as we make our way through much of the evening. but it will be wendy at times. you will see light showers that are moving into parts of newberry county. also like showers moving into will start to move into

minutes or so. the main thing is we're going to see some of the severe threat diminished. that is certainly good news right now as we make our way through the overnight hours. it does not mean that you will not hear thunder and gusty winds. i cannot rule out an isolated thunderstorm but as far as a watch goes, we're keeping our eye on things but not seeing one issued in the future. it is 64 degrees in ridgway.windsor from the south at about 7 miles per hour. we have seen them gusty -- gusting as high as 18 miles per hour. 64 currently. light southerly wind at five miles per hour. gust at 20 miles per hour. it is 64 in salute of. we have seen gusts around 10 miles per hour. they will pick up a little as these storm lines approach. taking a look at future watch, this is out of here for your morning commute. it will be wendy though. sunshine and cooler by lunchtime.
