assembly reconvenes next week. will you have to pay more or is there a way to stop additional tolls? andy fox is on toll patrol talking about the ideas including hikes on gas taxes. >> the state senator and delegates chris jones think taxpayers got a raw deal on tunnel tolls. tonight they have their own ideas on how to protect taxpayers from any more bad deals. >> look what occurred with the downtown tunnel. i think we all agreed that was handled the wrong way. >> the delegates chris jones says it's wrong to put up a toll without offering a free alternative route that has no tolls. >> we have tolls on the high rise bridge. you have to have free alternatives on the high rise bridge. if you add more lanes you would toll the new lanes. >> same for the hampton road

no new lane, no new toll. >> if you want to add two more lanes you could toll that. >> but until you do that there will be no tolls on the high rise bridge? >> the way that the bill is written if it's passed, that would be correct. >> what about the reversible lanes? >> they request we look at the hot lane going to the base and convert it to a hot lane configuration. >> now is the appropriate time to have that discussion. do we want tolls or increase the effort through gasoline? >> the state senator is writing a bill to increase the gas tax for three high priority road projects instead of using tolls that would double the cost of the road project. >> if we are willing to make a bigger effort now, not a major effort, but a bigger effort now in terms of gas taxes i think we could avoid tolls all together and minimize the amount of money

>> and that gas tax revenue could go to the 2624-64 interchange project. could go to the 264 crossing. and you might hear about these for the first time tonight. you can count on 10 on your side to keep close eyes on this legislation. aim andy fox, 10 on your side. >> more trouble for a former local business owner that made victims of people that lost loved ones. edward prince pleaded guilty to felony fraud this morning for accepting more than $17,000 from clients, but never delivering the head stones they ordered. prince has been convicted of fraud in four cities. he got 14 months in prison last month in virginia beach. he will be sentenced this month in chesapeake and pleaded not guilty in portsmouth.

commissioners will soon discuss the possibilities of adding hotels in town. >> it has been 30 years since a new hotel has been built there. so next week the board of commissioners invites the public to its work session. they will discuss enincentives to add hotels and the benefits. not everyone we talked to supports the idea. >> i think it is a good thing.

check wavy for police search for a killer. >> the 25-year-old was shot and killed at her home on heritage way. police are looking for anthony smith jr. he shot her when the family members were inside. deanna talks with the victim's sister. >> the family is living in fear right now. four of them were inside the apartment when that murder happened. they know who did it and they won't rest until he's caught. i spoke with her sister that flew in from georgia as soon as she found out. >> she was just a sweet person. always happy. always motivating everybody. she wanted everybody to succeed. >> dominique still can't believe her sister is gone. she said the 25-year-old was a hard working home health aid and proud mother of an 8 and 5-year-old. >> she wanted her kids to have a better life than she did.

something kind of interesting to note, you know, we've been dealing with the cold weather here. there are other parts of the country dealing with very heavy rain and severe weather that doesn't happen very often. here's a look at the satellite and radar composite. a little closer to home we are tracking partly cloudy skies. we have the clouds at night that keep temperatures on the milder side of things. it was definitely warmer out there today. we will call it seasonable. we are in 47 in suffolk. now we are down to 38 degrees. 41 in newport news. temperatures are not dropping off too quickly. not only because we have partly cloudy skies but we have a light breeze. you can see winds out of the northeast sustained between 5-8 miles per hour. as we continue through the week, temperatures will gradually get warmer but it does come with a little bit of a trade off.

most of the friday will be dry as well. the 30% chance doesn't come in late in the day. now, most of your saturday will be dry as well. we won't introduce this 20% chance into the forecast until the evening hours. and then on sunday we are tracking rain for early on in the day, but the afternoon looks dry. we will basically have shower chances the next few days here. in the meantime, i will show you what is going on with the future track forecast. partly to mostly cloudy skies. temperatures are only expect today drop in the upper 30s by 7:00 tomorrow morning. may see a couple stray showers along parts of the upper banks. that's about it. nothing here expected in hampton roads. as you go through your thursday, we will track more clouds than sunshine. we will see just enough peeks of sunshine. low to mid-50s. thursday night right into friday morning, mostly cloudy skies and we will track mostly cloudy

chance for a few showers late in the day. some peeks of sunshine expected in north carolina with a high of 57 degrees. a little closer to 52 degrees. across the south side, partial sunshine. average highs is 48 degrees. it will be a few degrees above that with a high of 53 in virginia beach. 55 expected in chesapeake. 53 in franklin. across the peninsula partly sunny with a slight breeze out of the north with a high of 50 degrees, 53 in williamsburg. the seven-day forecast with showers late on friday. most of saturday will be dry with a high of 62. and another chance of showers for saturday night into sunday morning. we will dry up sunday afternoon and top out around 65 degrees. things not looking too bad there. in the meantime you can check out the latest forecast updates at wavy.com. >> one of the most successful

washington gets set for the wild card game sunday night against aaron rodgers for the green bay packers. it was back to work as they put in the game plan for sunday night. an exciting time not only for the fans but the players that were trying to stay focussed. nathan joins us with the latest. >> thanks, bruce. as you can remember at redskins park there was a certain sense of joy in the complex. they are one of 12 teams left competing in the playoffs, but they know with aaron rodgers and the high octane green bay all business. >> now this is what it comes down to. a fresh start. anything could happen. >> i think everybody knows what's in stake at this game and very excite today play it. >> the quarterback in chesapeake is a 12-year veteran and he knows opportunities like these are never a give-in.
