money eventhough tivest wasn't licensed to do the work. indictment burfoot manipulated a filing deadline in favor of tivest for work in the broad creek villas development where he now owns a home. the feds also bring up the controversial midtown office tower development project where burfoot got $50,000 in cash and other gifts to show favor to tivest with that development and then voted to approve the project for tivest. he also tried to conceal the scene. at another hearing for another project burfoot was asked udner oath: mr. burfoot have you ever solicited anything fo value in exchange for an official act. burfoot answered, "i did not. i have not. mr. burfoot have you ever accepted anything of value in exchange for an official act. he answered i have not. today i went to the treasurers office,

alive. he was shot multiple times in a shootout with a suspect just before midnight yesterday. 33-year-old officer jesse hartnett was driving through a west philadelphia intersection when the suspect started shooting. hartnett was shot 3 times in his left arm and suffered a broken arm and nerve damage, but he's expected to survive. the suspect fired at least 13 times, emptying the 9 millimeter handgun he was shooting. officer hartnett shot back, hitting the suspect who then ran away. the suspect, a 30 year old man, was shot at least 3 times and was apprehended a short distance away. (s/commissioner richard ross/philadelphia police1:15-1:25) "this is absolutely one of the scariest things i've ever seen. i mean this guy tried to execute the police officer. the police officer had no idea he was coming. uh... it's amazing he's alive." the suspect's name has not been released. hartnett was taken into surgery early friday and is expected to make a full recovery.

high school continue to remember a classmate who died earlier in the week. the students released balloons in honor of rosio delao who during a soccer match wednesday. during the match the 16 year old asked to be taken off the field because she was having an asthma attack. shortly after the sophomore came off the field, she passed out. an ambulance arrived and rushed her to the hospital where she died a few hours later. fire officials in washington state say an employee in a bikini coffee stand was into flames. calls started coming into 9-1-1 just before about a possible explosion. a young barista was inside the stand at the time and suffered burns to her while escaping the flames. investigators don't know what caused the fire but are looking into the possibility that propane tanks used to heat the stand
