we will see a big change following sunday. i will tell you all about it in a few minutes. nicole: the nation's highest court is deciding whether to consider bob mcdonnell's up. appeal. if they decide not to hear the case, mcdonald will go to prison on corruption charges. the justices are not expected to make an announcement until monday. in september 2014, a federal jury found him and his wife guilty of trading political favors for gifts and. tom: an arresting one of the many 7-eleven robberies in norfolk. police arrested kevin bristow this afternoon. he was wanted for a robbery at the 7-eleven on chesapeake boulevard wednesday morning. that is where an employee was shot. the worker is expected to be ok. nicole: much more ahead, including a first of its kind custody case in hampton roads.

today, a judge decided yes. erin kelly has more. erin: yes, this leads the way to a custody battle that will happen when they have their divorce trial. they decided to bring the child into a valid marriage and the easy route would have been to make this about science but he said it was clear that warren intended to be the parent. she and her spouse were in a virginia beach courtroom friday, after a judge decided she did have rights as a legal parent to a child born during the marriage. >> it was crazy actually. it was so amazing to finally hear what i already knew and felt. erin: they married in maryland in 2015. karen the became pregnant and

lauren's team argued that she was a parent who attended the birth and provided care and insurance for the child. karen's attorney said it was up to the parents to decide. the judge wrote a contentious divorce does not mean lauren is no longer the parent because karen no longer wants her to be. >> we are seeking joint custody so the child can have the complete and full benefit of two parents. erin: the judge did not grant custody but did say lauren is a legal parent. a protective order was filed against lauren which expires next month. it allows her to see the child in both parents agree. tehhe psperm donor waived his rights. the biological mother says while we respect the ruling, our client is very disappointed and

steps will be. these are issues the legislature needs to address. erin kelly, 10 on your side. announcer: now your super doppler 10 forecast with don slater. don: we have the rainfall throughout the area but it is very light. in earlier versions of the newscast, we solve moderate areas of rain. it will taper off even further overnight. we move in for a closer view and show you what is going on. you can see the rainfall has moved offshore of virginia beach. here is three hours worth of time lapse sequences. the bulk of the rain is offshore, even for north carolina. there are some showers over parts of norfolk, north of downtown norfolk all the way into the lake smith area. it is into the river system as well. some spotty rain showers.

drizzle, a mist anywhere else within the area right now. seeing some rain on the west side. farther south, rain is pretty sparse until we get to hatteras island. we are seeing some heavy rainfall. roanoke island is seeing heavy rainfall. the heaviest rainfall is near hatteras island. that is what is going on with the rainfall now. mostly rain free weekend. there is the solid rain in eastern north carolina and then it breaks up. 51 degrees in the evening. stray shower overnight is not out of the question. we could see a sprinkle tomorrow but not big. 54 to 60 degrees. highs around 59 degrees.

really builds up overnight and into sunday morning. it will not be huge rain. it will likely be fairly warm, especially the first part of the day between 9:00 and 10:00. it drops off into the mid-60's by 3 p.m. it will be rather greasy. there is -- breezy. there is a line of cloud cover moving through. it will be a strange day. we start with rain. we will cool off only a little bit. it will be breezy on sunday and dropping through. how about monday? relatively quiet and colder. tuesday, relatively quiet but kind of cold. overnight, awfully far away to really nail it, wednesday morning at 2:00, snow. wednesday morning, 7:00, snow. it is a crapshoot at this point in terms of it really coming to

that is how cold it will be all the way into next week. right now, it is not bad. 49, 53 into the region. it is going to drop to around 45, 48 degrees overnight. into the low 50's. 45 degrees overnight. tomorrow, around 55 to 59. rainfall is not likely until closer to the dinner hour and overnight into sunday morning. it will be breezy. it gets weirdly cold after that. temperatures only into the 40's next week. >> old dominion had a big conference usa win last night and the redskins continue their preparations for sunday's playoff game against the packers.

bruce: the nfl playoffs are america's most popular and most-watched sporting events. sunday night for only the third time in 18 years, redskins fans will be able to watch their favorite team at home. looking for a shot at a super bowl. i'm bruce rader and on sunday evening at 4:40 p.m., the redskins will take on the green bay packers in the final game of wild-card weekend. the redskins finished the season with four straight wins and have yet to beat a team with a winning record. in the past eight games, they went 7-3.

kirk cousins is the nfl's second rated passer and has the fifth rated power ranking. he threw 10 passes in the redskins playoff loss to seattle three years ago. what does he remember from that? >> what i noticed the biggest difference was the environment at fedex field. i remember it being electric and exciting and noticeably different from the regular season. that is exciting to think about. on the field, i think it is still football. the guys on the field are playing for everything. it is their livelihood. i don't know if that desired changes a lot. bruce: while the packers offense has struggled, there is no question aaron rodgers is one of those elite players that can win a game, even a playoff game on his own.
