developing news from suffolk this evening.. police continue to look for two people responsible in an early morning armed robbery. we've learned it happened just before 1 this morning at the 7-eleven on godwin boulevard. the suspects went in the store, showed a gun and demanded money. the two ran away after getting money from the store employee. portsmouth police are looking for two suspects who robbed a convenience store. it's a story we first brought to you as breaking news last night at 11. it happened around 10-45 last night at diamond's express a gas station on victory boulevard, near greenwood drive. police say at least one the suspects had a gun. they demanded money, then ran away. this is the fourth time that robbers have targeted diamond's express. police also responded to robberies at the store in october, november, and december.

((c501 5:02)) "they are scared of more gun control laws and making it more difficult for them to legally purchase a firearm." the foot traffic at the showmasters gun show just one sign interest in guns is growing. the marksman in newport news says they've seen increases in people shooting guns, buying guns, and enrolling in conealed carry classes. to tell your family or friends if that would ever happen. the virginia d-m-v is registering customers for ther emergency contact program -- it started this past week. you can give two contacts that's securely stored and available only to law enforcement. there are a couple of ways to sign up for the program -- to find out how go to wavy and here in hampton roads. triple-a says the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is 1- dollar 96-cents. people in 10 states are paying less than a dollar-75 or less... including us here in hampton roads. according to gas buddy dot com -- the average price for a gallon of unleaded gas in our area is a dollar-74. even though, you can find some prices as low as a dollar-50 cents. if you think that's low - experts are suggesting gas prices may get as low a dollar a gallon in some parts of the country. the last time

italian police say an american woman is dead after being found murdered in her apartment last night. officers say the victim is 35-year-old ashley olsen from florida. she had been living in florence for some time. police say olsen was found with her neck bruised and scratched. a friend of olsen's says is shocking. s/ amy / friend of ashley olsen :15 "i can't imagine a person who awful shock. we've got a great community here of people and everyone loved her." police say an autopsy

the extraordinary tale of joaquin "el chapo" guzman took a surreal twist late last night. rolling stone published an article saying the drug kingpin apparently gave a secret interview to actor sean penn while on the run. penn wrote that he met guzman face-to- face in the mexican jungle, along with a mexican film and television star who had been interested in making a film telling the fugitive's story. the interview supposedly took place in october. guzman escaped from a maximum- security prison in july. the drug kingpin was arrested friday. mexico plans to extradite him to the u-s where he's wanted on drug charges. still ahead -- a growing jackpot -- we'll tell you how high the powerball jackpot is expected to get this week... and --the golden night -- we'll preview what you can expect in the 73rd annual awards tonight on wavy
