this after an incident that started last night after the city council meeting. 10 on your side just obtained this mug shot of wright after he turned himself into the magistrate on an eluding charge. 10 on your side's jason marks was there when it happened and jason once again the mayor didn't say much. no and hasn't talked to the media in months.. so no surpise he didn't say anything today though-- his attorney did advise him not to say anything. this is video of the myor being released a short time ago after turning himself in.. this all stems from an incident last night in the garge under city hall. the sheriff sayst the mayors inspection sticker had been expried for 7 months. the sheriff says he tried to tell the mayor about the sticker by the wright just drove off. the sheriff followed in his patrol car wih the his lights on. at one point the wright does pull over but the sheriff says he drove off again. watson descrbed it as a low speed prusit. finally after portsmouth police arrvied the mayor stopped and watson wrote him a ticket for having the inspired inspection sticker. this

decided to return to the magistrate and get the warrant for felony eluding. a magistrate from virginia beach granted the warrant and the mayor had to come down and turn himself in. 02=15:57:40 "how arrogant is he to ride around with an expired inspection sticker for 7 months and think he is going to get by with it" 05=16:01:45 "the mayor is not a criminal he was in no way trying to elude the sheriff obviously there was some disagreement he's the mayor of this city how is he going to elude the sheriff" wright was finger printed, photographed and released. he will be arriagned january 29th. now should the mayor have been charged with a felony. i spoke with an attorney a shot time ago. he tells me the punishment for class 6 felony eluding is 5 years in jail and a 25 hundered fine. but he told my that's like the speed chase. where someboy is endagering other lives and property. even the sheriff says that wasn't the case here. there is a class 3

virginia's general assembly is back in session. state senators and delegates met in richmond for the first of 60 days they'll be at the capitol. 10 on your side's erin kelly has been there since yesterday to keep us up to speed. lawmakers were in good spirits today -- as the prepare to tackle a big 2-year budget plan and what will be about 3,000 pieces of legislation. the session started in the house with the tradition of the sgt. at arms carrying the mace to the chamber. republican have the majority in the house and senate and face a democratic governor. we caught up with the lt. governor -- who leads the senate. 19 what we're going to try to get accomplished this session is all about economic development, the new virginia economy. 25 we want to bring manufacturers,

29 coming up at 5 -- you'll hear from some other hampton roads lawmakers and what the lt. governor sees as the region. live in richmond, erin kelly, 10 on your side. the virginia beach police department wants to know what citizens think about body cameras. it's been researching the topic for several years in hopes of having the cameras on some officers next year. tonight they're hosting a forum to discuss the plan. 10 on your side's brandi cummings is live in virginia beach at the meyera oberndorf central library where the meeting will be held. the first of two community forums will begin here in two hours. virginia beach police are inviting citizens to be part of the discussion about body cameras. by early 2017 the department plans to have then body cameras as part of what they call their daily equipment. they plan to have most of the uniformed patrol officers wearing them to record encounters between

felony. 02=15:57:40 "how arrogant is he to ride around with an expired inspection sticker for 7 months and think he is going to get by with it" last night-- watson says he noticed the mayor's car with that expired inspection sticker. the sheriff waited till the mayor came out of the council meeting. watson says he tried to flag the wright down but the mayor just kept driving. 02=15:53:24 "he just totally ignored me which he does with all law enforcement i got in the car and i proceeded and i stopped him at the traffic circle" watson says the mayor drove off again.. with help from police-- he stopped a short time later-- watson calls it a slow speed chase. he gave the mayor a ticket for the expired inspection-- but this morning he charged the mayor with felony eluding law enforcement. 02=15:54:42 "it was a traffic ticket to start with and now it's a class 6 felony..how smart is that" the mayor turned himself and was processed. the mayor had nothing to say as he walked out. 1:00:22 "mayor do you have anything to say at all" 10 on your side
