helping to track down the suspects. one they've caught and another, they now have a more detailed description. chief myers said yesterdays double homicide and officer involved shooting all happened in less than a half hour. within 2 minutes of the call, officers were on the scene. they found two men dead in the the two suspects on roanoke avenue.. myers said both had guns. when the suspects didnt to listen to the officers demands to stop. he shot at them. chief myers says one of the suspects fired his gun. a female officer found that same suspect on a porch. when he didnt listen to her commands she shot hitting him. chief myers the quick timing was helped people speaking up. two colleges on the peninsula -- during a investigation. state police say they're still looking for one of the suspects. only chopper 10 was above thomas nelson community college and odu's peninsula higher education center yesterday. investigators say it all started with a traffic stop on nearby interstate 64 in hampton. troopers say one of the men ran from the car, towards the campuses. administrators locked the campuses down as a precaution. 10 on your side is following breaking news from hawaii. we first told you on fox 43 this morning -- two u.s. marine corps helicopters crashed into each other off the north shore of oahu. this is a map showing where the accident took place late last night. we've learned searchers found a fire and debris field about two and a half miles north of shore. they also found an empty life raft. the debris field is about 1 and a half miles wide. according to the coast guard -- 12 people were on the helicopters. there is still an active search going on right now -- we're working to find out if

bring you a live report from hawaii on this breaking news story in just a few minutes. four people face charges in connection to a meth lab found in a house in norfolk. just before 9 last night -- detectives found the meth lab on templar boulevard in norfolk. this is video of the bust -- you'll see only on 10. detectives found the meth lab when they were serving a warrant. four people now faces charges relates to manufacturing and trying to dealing meth. here's a picture of the four arrested. they are 49-year-old richard billups, 30- year-old justin long, 28-year-old kyle harris and 23-year-old ashley billups. police say no one was hurt in the bust. officers in portsmouth are still looking for the person who shot a man early this morning. around 1:30 - a man walked into maryview hospital's emergency room with a gunshot in his leg. we've since learned, the shooting happened in the parking lot of pure diamonds lounge on portsmouth boulevard. if you have any information about the

morning... v-dot had to set up a detour around the accident - until it reopened. we've also been told people were hurt, but they're all expected to survive. we're learning more about yesterday's deadly plane crash in middlesex county. state police say the pilot was gilbert dennis gregory. gregory was from glenns, in gloucester county. right now state bomb squad and arson investivators are trying to figure out what caused the crash. it happened around 2:00 thursday afternoon about a mile from wake road in the small town of topping. a witness called 9-1-1. investigators sent us this picture of the scene. the woods are so thick -- crews had to use a bulldozer to get to the plane. state police say they're checking a device on board, used to deploy parachutes. 10 on your side's jason marks is headed that way -- look for his updates starting this afternoon on wavy news 10 at 4. police officers will say their goodbyes to krijger next week. a gunman shot and killed him during a standoff sunday night on land street.

he died on tuesday. the norfolk police department scheduled krijger's funeral for tuesday at the police k-9 range. the dog will be buried in virginia beach. the ceremony is private, but you are welcome to pay tribute along the procession route. covering decision 20-16 -- it was a tense night on the debate stage in south carolina, especially between the two leading republican candidates: donald trump and ted cruz. trump continued to hammer cruz on the birther issue. he's been questioning whether or not cruz is eligible for presidency since he was born in canada to an american mother. cruz fired back saying the issue is settled. perhaps the most notable exchange between them was over what cruz calls trump's "new york values." trump will be in virginia next week to speak at liberty university's convocation monday. but some students believe having trump speak on martin luther king, junior day is not appropriate. according to "the news and advance", some students will hold a peaceful protest outside the

to quote dr. king and sing songs about equality and god's love for all. next month trump will be back in hampton roads to speak at regent university in virginia beach. this is video from his rally in downtown norfolk last year. trump is participating in regent's "presidential candidate forum". other candidates jeb bush and john kasich have already participated. all chipotle stores will close for a few hours next month to focus on a variety of issues including improving food safety. it's an attempt to get all the restaurant employees behind the cause. nearly two-thousand stores will participate in the meeting on february 8th. it's coming after outbreaks of e-coli, salmonella, and norovirus at stores across the country. chipotle is facing at least nine lawsuits because of the outbreaks. we'll be taking you live to the scene of breaking news in hawaii. crews are searching for possible survivors after two marine helicopters crashed near the coast. we'll get an update from oahu in less

and d-c to talk about reducing gun violence in the commonwealth. today's meeting will be the first of its kind in washington. the meeting focuses on illegal guns and ways communities can work together to lower gun trafficking. the attorneys plan to talk to reporters after their meeting. you can expect the latest coverage on this story starting at 4. north carolina officials say tougher laws need to be put in place to ban sex offenders from the state fair. advocates brought up the issue with state lawmakers. they say state law doesn't specify whether offenders are banned from the fair. two times last year - sex offenders were arrested at the fair. an update to sex offender law could come in the legislature's short session - which starts at the end of april. a tennessee couple claims they're the big winners! the couple visited "today" for an exclusive interview. john and lisa robinson say they are america's newest multi-millionaires. the tennessee couple went on the today show this morning with their daughters s d their lawyer. the couple says they bought the ticket wednesday night. the

"ride the ducks" tour of seattle returns later today. the company faced controversy after a deadly crash. in late september - a "ride the ducks" bus hit a tour bus on a bridge. the accident killed five people and hurt several others. the company says they've made changes to their route that takes the

over a different bridge. and the company is putting two staff members on each vehicle - one to drive the tour bus, and the second to be the tour guide. despite all the changes, some residents aren't sure it's enough to keep people safe. city's water from lake huron -- to the flint river, which was not tested. now -- there are high levels of lead in flint's water. the fallout for residents has been devastating. ten people died from legionnaires' disease in the past two years. state officials stopped short of saying that flint water was the cause. they say there's a lack of clinical data. state and county officials have already declared a state of emergency themselves. the governor's activated the michigan national guard to help distribute water at sites across flint. environmental officials in new mexico are planning legal action over last year's toxic spill into the animas river. state authorities say they plan to sue the e-p-a, the state of colorado, and the owners of the gold king and sunny-side mines. the spill happened in august when an e-p-a crew accidentally caused a leak at the dormant gold king mine. that leak sent three million gallons of heavy metal filled wastewater into the river. indonesian media reports three people suspected of plotting an attack have been arrested.
