parts of hampton roads may see its next chance of light snow -- sunday. our team of meteorologists continue to track the likely-hood of the wintry mix. 10 on your side's matt gregory is also working to find out what cities are doing to prepare. but first, lets take a live look from towercam 10 over downtown norfolk. it's been a beautiful start to our weekend -- and hopefully you had the chance to enjoy the warmer weather -- because those temperatures are about to start dropping. meteorologist ashley baylor is in the super doppler 10 weather center to let us know how cold it's going to get and the places most likely to see any snow. ashley? tonight: mostly cloudy. relatively mild. lows: near 40. winds: light west to north. sunday: cloudy with rain developing through the morning. some wet snow could mix in north and west of the metro. highs: low-40s. winds: n 10 mph. monday: sunny, but chilly. highs: mid-30s. winds: w 10-15 mph. no complaints expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with temperatures dropping back into the upper-40s by 9 pm.

with the chance of that wintry mix -- cities across the area are on standby -- and say they are ready to go incase any snow sticks to the roads. 10 on your side's matt gregory is live from virginia beach with the details. deanna, i talked with the spokespersons from the major cities in hampton roads. they're not so concerned with tonight. it's tomorrow that has their attention and each one said they're ready for anything. especially here in virginia beach. the fleet of trucks at virginia beach's public works facility are gassed up and ready to go. public works says they have been

since october. a spokesperson tells me they have 3- thousand tons of salt and sand mixed for the road treatments. they have have 3-thousand tons to back it up as well in case they run out. but im told they dont anticipate using that much in one winter storm. crews won't be on standby tonight. but the city will see how the the weater develops tomorrow. drew lankford / virginia beach public works c0011 :00:10:18 "depends on what it is. i mean if its freezing rain and sleet and a little bit of snow then we have trucks going out and treating roads. when you get three inches of snow or more then we put the blades on and start clearing them like that. alot of it depends on :00:10:33 if temperatures drop below freezing tonight. lankford tells me they'll have frost crews out on in the city. but he says its not because of the

isil. officers nabbed farrokh at richmond international airport friday afternoon. he was trying to get on a flight to chicago. officials say from there he was to fly to amman, jordan and then to syria. police say elhassan drove farookh to richmond. they arrested him when he returned to woodbridge in northern virginia. if convicted, each man faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. also developing at this hour -- five americans have been released from iranian custody. one of those americans is washington post journalist jason rezaian. he spent spent more than 500 days in an iranian prison on espionage charges. u-s officials said the u-s offered clemency to seven iranians, six of whom are dual u-s- iranian citizens, who are already convicted or are pending trial in the united states. virginia beach delegate scott taylor discussed his bid for u.s. congress today. taylor spoke to supporters at keagan's irish pub in town center today. it's his first public appearance since making the announcement yesterday. taylor who is an entreprenuer and

he's proud of his work to advance legislation on small business, education and veterans services. with his bid for congress, taylor says his run for lieutenant governor in 2017 will be put on hold. police are looking for the person responsible for a robbery at a store on south lynnhaven rd this morning. the call came into 9-1-1 just before 11. we're working to find out if the person had a gun - and the store that was robbed. newport news police arrested a suffolk man last night - in connection with an domestic assault in that city. 20-year-old keishon robinson is in the newport news city jail without bond. police in suffolk are also investigating to see if robinson is connected to any commercial armed robberies. still ahead -- anti-violence rally -- where people marched to show

breaking news just into the wavy newsroom... norfolk police are at an accident... where a car went into the water. we just got these pictures into the newsroom. just before 5:30 the car went into the water near llewelyn avenue. we've been told the person made it out of the car. we're working to find more information about the accident.

norfolk just two days before martin luther king jr. day. a crowd of people marched -- advocating for safer neighborhoods. 10 on your side's joe fisher was there and joins us in the newsroom with more on their message. joe. deanna -- the city of norfolk recorded 33 homicides last year. what organizers say is 33 too many. they don't know why it keeps happening -- but they are devoted to at least trying to make their communtiies safer places to call home. kimberly wimbish/activist ((c13 57:19)) "we just want to stop the violence in the hampton roads community." an anti-violence march not much different than dozens prior. nats chanting. posters demanding equality. a simple message to put the guns down. but organizer kimberly wimbish says apparently not resonating. kimberly wimbish/activist ((c13 59:15)) "where's the positive things. where are we out we're always having to bury someone." one crime scene after the other.
