live updates since our four o'clock newscast. what's happening now, lex. fire broke out at the s. wallace edwards smokehouse in surry county tuesday afternoon, reportedly followed by an explosion. tamara arthur, emergency services coordinator for the county, told wavy.com they received a report of the smokehouse on fire around 12:40 p.m. tuesday. more than two hours later, flames were still visible. according to firefighters on scene, they expect to dump up to 75,000 gallons of water to get the fire under control. the plant was open and operating when the fire started, but arthur said there have been no reported injuries and no reports of anyone trapped inside. there was an explosion heard at the smokehouse after initial reports of the fire came through, arthur said. due to a tragic fire, we will be closed for an undetermined amount of time. we'd like to thank the community for supporting us and local

in this follow up -- recognition of bravery and sacrifice. people in nofolk braved a frigid january afternoon in tribute to a police k-9. he was shot and killed by a suspect last week during a call for a domestic incident on land street. police later shot keith richardson after they say he raised a gun at them. 10 on your side's brandi cummings attended a special service today to remember a fr-legged servant to the community. tom- this wasn't just any dog, today k-9 krijger was hailed a hero. the flag remains at half-

that we're 100% in support of what they're going through right now. i know its a tough tough thing to go through. we escorted in a flag draped casket to his burial site at the garden of pines pet cemetery in virginia beach. a long processional followed. we learned a bit more about krijger during the memorial service. we'll tell you about an award he and his handler won two years ago in norfolk brandi cummings 10 on your side. we're following breaking news out of gloucester -- the sheriff's department released the name of the teen killed in a weekend shooting. 18 year old josh morrison from yorktown - died sunday. a friend gave us these pictures of josh. police say it happened near the intersection of ditchley road and gill - early sunday morning. three other people were also shot at that time. we're told two 20 year old men from newport news and a 15 year old girl from yorktown are expected to recover.

a friend of morrison who says he was just a nice guy. - c0026 08;58;19 "he was honestly just the sweetest, the funniest guy in the world. if you were upset, he'd do anything to make you happy ...he just cared about everybody so deeply" police charged 18-year-old dijon whitter from hampton for shooting all four people. charges have now been filed in last week's raid of six massage parlors in chesapeake. they involved 14 women ages 18 to 59 following a year long investigation. you see 10 of the women here, all are accused of multiple charges relating to prostitution. (start with chopper video) local and federal investigators searched six businesses on friday - and took the women into custody. outside of harmony massage on coastal way --- you can see two women in handcuffs, led into a chesapeake sheriff's van. local and federal authorities also raided pure massage, massage elite, asian dream massage, sunny spa and time massage.

tonight -- newport news police say the double murder suspect shot by officers is out of the hospital and behind bars. 33-year-old laratio dantzler faces 2 counts of first degree murder, gun charges and attemped robbery. detectives say he killed 38-year-old cadre grey and 30-year-old quinton kelly thursday morning. police found the bodies of both in a van at 14th street and wickham avenue. officers later caught up with dantzler and shot him during the encounter. police are still looking for a second suspect. ng up on wavy news 10 at 5:30- two virginia men charged with terrorism - what we learned about the case against them after they appeared in federal court today. i'm erin kelly in newport news, where a woman says she was working alone at a dry cleaning business when a man pointed a gun at her head and demanded money. i'll show video of the

some loose change from last week's record powerball jackpot has landed in virginia beach. teofilo mesina and his wife are the proud winners of 1 million dollars. mesina isn't a regular powerball player, but tosses his hat in the ring every once in awhile. this time he got lucky. he uses a combination of family birth dates to pick his lucky numbers. the couple didn't watch the drawing live, but still couldn't believe their ticket was worth anything even when they saw the numbers later. c0005 15;21;09;21 (wife) i was shocked i didn't believe it until we when to the office of the lottery. i really didn't believe it. 15;21;16;16 the winning ticket was bought at the 7- eleven on lynhaven parkway in virginia beach. the mesina's plan on talking to a financial advisor on what to do with their new fortune. paying off their mortgage however is one possibility to put the money to good use.

a woman in newport news says she was working at a dry cleaner, when a man pointed a gun at her head -- and demanded money. now police want you to see the video an officer captured with his body camera. they think it shows the suspect -- trying to get away. 10 on your side's erin kelly has been talking to the detectives on the case. police think the suspect was out here in front of nam's cleaners about 45 minutes to an hour before the robbery, casing the place. and they want you to take a look at this video -- captured as an officer was responding. nats officer video - stop! stop! this is body camera video from newport news police -- of a man they think robbed a dry cleaning business friday afternoon. a woman at nam's cleaners off warwick boulevard tells 10 on your side she

two women involved in what police in arizona call a case of road rage. one of them is dead, the other charged with murder. hundreds of chinese students at arizona state university are mourning the shooting death of 19-year-old yue jiang (yoo jang) in tempe. the finance major from china was behind the wheel when another driver -- holly davis--side-swiped her saturday -- then got out and shot jiang (jang) multiple times. a witness knew the young woman wouldn't survive. (s/ tia toddy/ witness :05) "it was just scary to think that somebody is losing their life right in front of us." according to booking documents, police found a note davis left in her home stating she was going to commit an act of violence. in michigan, something in the water that will draw protesters to the governor's state of the state address tonight. they're calling for his resignation over contaminated water in one city. in 2014 governor rick snyder's administration changed flint's water
