are busy preparing for the winter storm. ten on your side's andy fox has been keeping an eye on the situation from james city county? andy? today vdot is preparing for a storm tomorrow we caught up with the secretary of transportation who has been closely advising the governor. supers; secretary aubrey layne/transportation robert melton/homeless as storm preps are underway at vdot in williamsburg-james city county the governor has declared a state of emergency following the advice of transportation secretary aubrey layne (8 28) ((which allowed vdot to get heavy supplies heavy trucks on the road suspended all the restrictions)) runs: 06 vdot has meetings at 10am and 12 hours after that during the winter storm. and they either meet or talk with the governor twice a day during the (14:04 28) ((we go around the state they

until a nearby sergeant arrived soon after. 10 on your side's erin kelly explains -- investigators think the same person robbed multiple drug stores. deputies say in these different cases -- the suspect passed a note, implying he had a weapon, to steal drugs. and that people, who were already on edge because of the pharmacy robberies -- were on the lookout. charles joseph loher the third of williamsburg is locked up and charged with robbing multiple drug stores along route 17 in york county. deputies say he passed a note, demanding pain meds and implied he had a gun -- at a walgreen's near goodwin neck road wednesday afternoon. lt. dennis ivey jr says he didn't get far. 3415 when he left on foot, a brave person who was inside of the walgreen's chased him down and tackled him, and one of our sergeants was nearby and went right up. within a minute, he was apprehended 3430 ivey says it ended in the parking lot of advance auto parts across the

no one was hurt. 3532 we really appreciate it. we're glad he didn't get hurt and you know we want people to use caution when they think about doing those, but it robberies. one in december at a rite aid on route 17 another earlier this month at the same walgreen's robbed yesterday and another one days later at a different route 17 rite aid. ivey says, even though they were four incidents -- loher is charged with eight robberies. 3754 when he passed a note to one person in the pharmacy who passed it to the pharmacist, that's actually two robberies 3759 because the note has passed two people and so both people are feeling threatened and intimidated 3806 the sheriff's office says the suspect did not have a gun on him and they don't know if

himself or planned to sell them. loher did not want to talk to us today. james city county police are checking to see if a robbery at a williamsburg rite aid is connected to the york county cases. in the newsroom, erin kelly, 10 on your side. some chesapeake residents are reacting to news that drinking water near them is contaminated. yesterday we told you the navy is giving bottled drinking water to its employees at naval auxiliary landing field fentress. this week test results showed a high level of contaminants called p-f-cs. 10 on your side's brandi cummings joins us now with the story. people who live near naval auxiliary landing field fentress are upset that they first learned about contaminiated drinking water through the media. the navy says its simply taking precautions because based on federal and state standards, the drinking water is safe. sot - toney brooks, chesapeake resident - clip 12 12:13 its concerning. 12:14 toney brooks has lived on new land road in chesapeake just six months. he recently learned that tests done at nearby naval auxiliary landing field fentress showed elevated levels of a contaminent known as

is there a link between migraine headaches and menopause? a new study suggests there could be. researchers -- lead by the university of cincinnati -- studied more than three thousand women -- and all of them experienced migraines both before -- and after their menopausal years. the risk for high frequency migranes increased by 60-percent during peri- menopause - that's the transition period before menopause begins. experts say changes in estrogen and progesterone levels during this phase may be to blame. coming up on wavy news ten at five- thirty - an upclose look at a snowflake. the special
