snow is most likely. 10 on your side's andy fox continues our team coverage from james city county. andy? all day vdot getting ready, and at the local lowes they're getting ready too. brunt of the storm. vdot plows the county streets and they also plow the interstate. they are expecting a mess tomorrow morning. at the local lowe's, it did not take long to find folks preparing. this person bought a chainsaw to cut a limb. >> the last winter storm, i had a big them out of our oaktree. andy: so you've got been chainsaw. you hope you don't have to do it again.

tom: an arrest in last night's bond scare that followed outside of little creek. police charged a 20 year-year-old with the scare outside of date five. today he made his first appearance in a courtroom. jason has the latest. jason: he is in bad shape. that is what his dad told the judge this afternoon. his parents were in the courtroom and said their son has a history of mental illness. the 28-year-old is accused of leaving a package. the incident happened around 5:00. crews rushed out and blocked off streets and closed down the area . bomb squad's were brought in to see what was inside the package. police are not saying what was found. the investigation was turned over last night. hours after the package was

him down and he was questioned by the joint terrorism task force. today he said some very bizarre things. the judge tried to ask his name and he said he could not see her because he did not have his glasses so he would not believe she was a real judge. he was also's inky needed to go into detox and he wanted some. -- ssome xanax. nicole: authorities say a student brought a gun to school. a resource officer got a tip and started investigating on wednesday. deputies say the 17-year-old had a gun and drugs on property. they took the student to juvenile detention and plan to press charges. tom: the attorney for anthony burfoot is asking for changes. right now burfoot can't have contact with any potential witnesses or victims. the attorney says both sides

rader tom: a judge declared a mistrial in a housing mold case. nicole: it took five years to get it to trial. jury selection finished for the case. this family claims they got sick from the mold in their home. their house was part of lincoln military housing. several issues came up, attorneys said the judge decided to declare a mistrial and take himself off the case. >> they destroyed this family and other families. we will continue fighting for them. they can't outgun us. nicole: they claim there is no proof of mold in the home and no link to medical conditions

moves beyond the headlines. we know domestic violence affects hundreds of families. tom: we are also looking into what is being done to save lives. here is anita blanton. anita: every nine seconds in the u.s., a woman is assaulted by someone she thought she knew. and then there are those who stories can only be told by police are the loved ones they leaked behind. >> tee shot her one time. my mom ran in the room and that is when they shot her two more times. >> the victim was found by her son. we are interviewing other witnesses and based on that information we believe it is domestic related. anita: that victim was angelina. >> this is something that can't be tolerated. anita: fred g matthews is

saturday they will raise awareness about domestic violence with a message especially for men. >> other men can hear from men that this is not acceptable. we have teamed up with a shelter and the samaritan house because those are great resources. >> men are standing up and saying this is not right. we are going to teach our sons and daughters what a healthy relationship looks like and this is not something they should stand for. anita: olivia is on the front lines. >> they can reach out to us and we will be here for them. we offer case management, children's programs, we have a 24-hour hotline. financial us distance. rent, utilities. anita: safety planning and more to make sure no one else dies at the hands of an abuser.

here is our computer model, all evening. around 28. cold enough for snow tomorrow morning. we move on to the noon hour. 32 degrees at that point. the winds start picking up. this is too broad in terms of snowfall for the day on friday. i think it will be scattered snow and then widespread farther out into the day on friday. friday at 3:00, we see a change to rainfall for the south side. right in the center of things coming up for the day on friday. now we move on to friday evening. 40 degrees, pretty much all the rain. it pretty solid stretch of time. especially for the peninsula. it will last into the drive time

25 mile per hour wins. 40 degrees. becoming all rain. the middle peninsula, working its way through the northern neck. still very strong wind and again it is all rainfall by that point and we will see some heavy rain between midnight and 4:00. 20-30 at 4:00 in the morning and there is the center. it is moving northeast. 45 for norfolk to start the day on saturday. it centers over the top of us. the southerly wind in eastern carolina. around 43 in norfolk. temperatures dropping. 20 mile per hour wins. that low over the top of us, you can see how things are swinging around. some scattered rainfall.

coming up during the evening hours on saturday. now we take you into the long-range forecast model. saturday evening into sunday. we've got some rainfall. starting to change over to snow. we could see an inch of snow after the main bout. most of the storm is going to be rainfall. saturday evening on into sunday morning, sunday morning at 7:00, it is snowing. by noon, it is gone. coming up for the day on sunday. what do we end up with on friday? friday only, an inch for most of the south side. before melting is important. it will melt early. around 4:00 for the south side. it later for the peninsula before it really starts to melt and later the net through friday.

there are too many. there could be pockets of two feet of snow up toward fredericksburg. that is through friday. how much on the ground by saturday? zero. nothing. again, that is what is going on throughout the area right now. 31 degrees. temperatures are dropping down. nothing huge. tomorrow, starting as snow, finishing as rain through the overnight hours. all of the day saturday. changing over saturday night. an inch of snow by the time it ends on sunday. i will have more at 11:00. bruce: he came back from a bad back to play on baseball's biggest stage.

bruce: after missing most of the season, david wright returned in time to play in his first world series. while his future is up in the air, playing in the fall classic is something he will never forget. i'm bruce radar. with $87 million left on the biggest contract in mets history, david wright has plenty of incentive to end his baseball career in new york. david arrived in florida shortly after the new year and is continuing to manage the spinal stenosis that caused him most of last season. regardless of what happens, the seven-time all-star wheelchairs playing on the games biggest stage even though the mets lost the championship to the royals. >> it is no fun to fall short like we did.
