joe fisher toys we're getting more pictures of that flooding near the virginia beach oceanfront. these pictures show you the bay colony neighborhood -- that's at 47th and atlantic. our andy fox tweeted about the rising water in the area earlier tonight. that tidal flooding hit parts of portsmouth today -- this is a look at wythe street just outside our studio in portsmouth. we call it lake wavy, and the water always rises when tidal flooding happens. the water actually spilled out onto port centre parkway.

a viewer sent us this video of flooding outside their apartments in portsmouth today. you're seeing the bay view gardens apartment complex on victory boulevard. team coverage of the winter storm takes us to the peninsula now. we learned some businesses in hampton and newport news closed early today due to snow. 10 on your side's matt gregory is there now. matt, you say crews have been clearing the roads. i've seen quite a few plow crews off mercury blvd here and across hampton today. vdot tells me they'll continue on 12 hour shifts. you can see the slush made from snow and sleet makes roads passable, but still treacherous. in fact throughout the afteroon more restuarants and shps closed as the weather intensified. out on buckroe beach in hampton, the waves only

a college basketball team from pittsburgh is on its way home... that's after the blizzard extended their road trip. the duquesne dukes were stranded on the pennsylvania turnpike following their friday win at george mason in fairfax. their bus got stuck about 80 miles outside pittsburgh later that night, and they spent all day with other stranded motorists. ironically duquesne's game against george mason was moved up from tonight to friday afternoon because of the coming blizzard. about two hours ago, the team tweeted that it was on the move back to pittsburgh. we'll continue our coverage of this winter weather tomorrow morning. be sure to join lex gray, chris horne and

we're tracking slushy conditions in williamsburg tonight. the plow trucks have been out today, but some drivers are still having trouble getting around. 10 on your side's erin kelly is there now. erin, what are you seeing now? we're near the intersection of 2nd street and merrimac trail. we've seen heavy snow for the past few hours -- and the wind has blown the snow all over the road. earlier today -- we were near the campus of william & mary and richmond road. we saw cars going through the slush -- only a few with issues. crews have been working in 12-hour shifts with 6 plow
