coast, and it will swing we're still fine-tuning this forecast...so, stay while most of hampton roads watched the snow fall saturday from inside their warm homes - for possibly 100s of military families - that wasn't an option. they had - little to no heat or hot water. some say it lasted more than 12 hours. they felt they didn't get enough information - so they called 10 on your iside. our deanna leblanc is outside the ben moreell complex with the update. deanna. the residents i spoke with - gave mixed reviews of the response they received when they lost - others felt - there was more that should have been done. 18:45 house was still cold. hasn't heated up. went and tried to do a reset on the furnace. tried to light the stove. this family is one of about 120 others that made calls for service from the ben moreell housing complex saturday,

they had no heat - no hot water. the problem - was low gas pressure from a line on the navy base. 21:49 so i call their 24 hour maintenance number which is what they referred us to on their facebook page. which is a call center back in california. this family who asked not to be identified - felt that lincoln military housing should have done more. two people in their home have medical conditions - and they and then an hour later the heat's back on. i didn't want to jump into something we didn't necessarily have to do. 22:45 but - after making 17 phone calls -from noon to nine - they never got any concrete answers. we found out - lincoln military housing couldn't give concrete answers, because they didn't have any. a spokesman tells me they had to wait for the navy have been helpful. 22:53 i thought for sure they'd tell us one way or another. i would have appreciated even if they said don't hold your breath for 12 hours. we they did everything they could. including calling opened up community centers, and ordered

now i also spoke with families who said they felt lincoln military housing situation as best they could. the navy - even opened a base gym so people could get warm showers. duffy says they will review their plans to see how and where they can make things smoother in the future. in norfolk i'm dl 10 on your side. in north carolina -- thousands are still without power across the state. more than eleven-thousand as of this morning at least six people died during the storm -- all of them in traffic accidents. no traffic related deaths

shoveling snow. the big apple is slowly getting back to normal today. the city was literally shut down over the weekend. the governor issuing a travel ban. its been lifted -- but new yorks mayor -- encouraging people to stay off the roads. (bill de blasio- ny mayor )- "this is not your history of new york city in the last century and a half. we've got to get that through everybody's head." the city saw a one-day record-setting 26 inches of snowfall on saturday. in d-c -- schools and federal offices remained closed today. city officials asking people to stay off the streets and let the crews continue to clear the roads. at a briefing earlier today d-c's mayor said it's important to note - that even though the snow has stopped falling -- the danger has not passed: 47-1:05 mayor murial bowser/district of columbia we talked to night. so, any wet surface can become icy- walkways, sidewalks and roadways. we are

in washington, d.c. about 2 feet of snow fell on the nation's capitol. mayor bowser plans to ask for federal funding to help for the clean-up. so -- where are crews putting all of that snow? a lot of it is going to the parking lot at r- f-k stadium. as soon as the snow stopped falling -- snow removal crews hit the streets of d-c. trucks are filled with snow -- then dumped in the "snow lot" -- then bulldozers back the snow into mounds -- some as tall as 15 feet. in elizabeth city -- a man is behind bars after police say he tried to rob a 74 year old woman. 28 year old brett cote is facing multiple charges tonight. ten on your side's liz palka is in elizabeth city - where she spoke to the victim. liz what was she able to tell you? police tell us: the man forced the victim to drive him to a bank --

bring them to you on air and online. lp toys new information tonight on a lawsuit filed by the families of ten sailors -- who died aboard the el faro cargo ship that sank in a hurricane in october. the florida times-union is reporting each of the families will receive 500 thousand dollars in a settlement reached with tote maritime -- the ships owner. the family of virginia beach resident richard pusatere was among those who filed claims against tote. legal documents say the settlements cover "pre-death pain and suffering" and economic losses from the deaths. coming up on wavy news

more on our continuing winter weather coverage - airports in the storm zone are working on getting back up and running. still -- more than 28-hundred flights were delayed or canceled at some of the nation's busiest airports today. including hundreds at reagan national and dulles in d-c. both airpports resuming flights today -- much to the delight of passengers who have been stranded in d-c. with a week to go until votings begins in the iowa caucus - tonight the three democratic presidential hopefuls are ready to make one last pitch to voters. tonight c-n-n is hosting it's final democratic townhall before voters head to the polls. for a look at where things stand in the democratic race - here's ten on your side's national correspondent mark meredith.

trt: 1:20 out: in washington, i'm mark meredith reporting. nats of bernie being applauded walking in riding high in iowa. vermont senator bernies sanders leads the polls in the hawkeye state but is far from guaranteed first state to vote comes at the expense of national frontrunner former secretary of state hillary clinton. while she may be in second in iowa - she's spending time reminding voters of her first hand 01:00:47-01:00:54i n clinton sot "i offer you my experience, and my judgement, about how best that job should be done" over the weekend - clinton scored the endorsement of iowa's largest newspaper - the des moines register. but it's too early to tell if it'll help her re-take the lead. graphic a cbs / you gov poll released sunday shows sanders with a narrow lead over clinton - just by one percentage point - and well within the margin of error. but a rival poll - released by c-n-n's shows sanders leading by five points. nat break tonight's c-n-n townhall won't include a debate stage - instead each candidate will speak one on one with a moderator. clinton campaign may already be looking ahead
