cameron dooley-now a suspect in landon's death. 3:28 - cameron there are people out here who care about you. you need to come out with your hands up. come to the phone with tory or shuffle the blinds and let us know that you are ok police eventually storm the house at 2;10 this morning and what they find indescribable. todd dooley shot to death. he was last seen monday and failed to show up for work at lynnhave dive center tuesday. his wife lori dooley was also dead as was his daughter 17 year old brooke dooley who was last heard from school tuesday or wednesday. these time elements raising questions on how long the family members had been dead in the home that belonged to todd dooley's mother doris who was also dead. police say cameron killed all five family members

another victim-- todd dooley -- is the father. he had just retired from the chesapeake police force -- in october. 10 on your side's erin kelly joins us now, with reaction from law enforcement. by all accounts, todd dooley was well liked and respected as an officer, and as a person. and his death -- in this way -- comes as a shock to the tight-knit community of law enforcement. c0006 - robert ike - city was, i don't think anybody saw this coming. 822 chesapeake city councilman -- and retired chesapeake police officer -- robert ike -- says word of a family's tragedy

members of law enforcement thursday. police say 50-year-old todd dooley -- and four other members of his family -- died at the hands of his son. c0006 - robert ike - city council member, retired chesapeake police officer 621 i hate to think that this fashion, is just, is just tragic. 633 ike says dooley retired from the police department just two months ago. he joined the force after ike left. c0006 - robert ike - retired chesapeake police officer 607 i knew him socially through the fraternal order of police and other police events. 612 he was a great officer, well-respected among his peers, known as a rock solid back-up when you needed one. 620 dooley was also an active member of law enforcement united -- a charity which helps children of police killed in the line of duty. they have an annual bicycle ride from chesapeake to dc. today chaplain shared on social media -- "the one thing about todd, is he always had a smile and one we looked forward

with the youngest victim-- 17 year old brooke dooley. she was a cheerleader at deep creek high school. 58=15:41 "she was a great person never hurt anybody. i think that things happen for a reason there's reason why she's gone right now" no one knows that reason-- brooke died along with her 22 year old brother landon. their parents lori and todd were also killed. todd was a former chesapeake marine police officer. 74=26:30 "i describe him as an all round great family man loved his work as a police officer loved diving he was just a great guy" todd retired from the department and started working at the lynnhaven dive center in virginia beach in october. he didn't show up for work on tuesday. 74=26:53 "we are all in complete shock we can't even wrap our minds around it" the fifth victim is this woman-- the matriarch of the family- grandmother

right now chesapeake police are working a death investigation. the body was discovered, after firefighters put out a fire at a home on hoover avenue. 10 on your side's liz palka is live at the scene. liz what have you learned? latest on scene. neighbors are telling us an elderly woman died in this fire. at this point - police have not identified her. the fire started at noon on hoover avenue in the south norfolk neighborhood. people who live nearby said they saw the flames and smoke before firefighters arrived. they attempted to rescue the woman, who they could hear yelling for help. one neighbor told us she tried to get in the house, but the fire was too strong at that point. later on,

norfolk police need your help finding a shooting suspect. 24-year-old ceason moore jr. has active felony warrants for malicious wounding and attempted robbery. he is wanted in connection for a new year's day shooting on hugo street. the 36-year-old victim was hospitalized with serious injuries. police say moore is armed and dangerous. gates county deputies arrested a second suspect-- geral bass-- in connection with a june homicide. 29-year-old aaron holland was arrested in october. holland and bass are suspect in the death of 43-year-old calvin bell, junior. bell was found dead in a

((c28 50:53)) "pledge of alliance, to the flag, to america." but the 600-plus students and staff stood just a bit more united on this day. nats: clippers ((c39 8:00)) "it's amazing to be able to know that in some small way that our school and community can help." kindergarten teacher sandi muraski started raising money last week for gracie perry-toutaint. one of her five-year-old students who's fall on the monkey bars in december led to a high fever. soon after, a diagnosis. virginia beach detectives sent us new surveillance video of a november business burglary. the crime happened on south kellam road. you can see a man throw something through the glass door of a law firm to break it. then he crawled in and walked around. we're working to find if anything was taken. two men robbed a pizza hut restaurant in newport news. now police need your help finding the suspects. this is surveillance video from the crime saturday night. employees say two suspects came in to the warwick boulevard restaurant with guns. one of them made a worker open the register and then they fled with the stolen cash. no one was hurt. the york-poquoson sheriff's office needs

we're learning new information in the selden arcade explosion. today the norfolk fire marshal's office released a final report. we now know the explosion started outside the building near an electrical power supply feed in the duct bank. that's the main power feed to the electrical switch room for the selden arcade. the report says a contractor working on power lines near the selden arcade triggered what officials called a "catastrophic failure of the electrical system". that chain of events is what led to the april 2015 explosion. stay with us. wavy news more on the developing news we've been following all day -- out of chesapeake -- where a family of six is dead -- following a murder-suicide. ten on your side has been digging into this case all day. here's what we know so far. cameron dooley shot and killed his grandmother doris, father todd who is a retired chesapeake police
