10 on your side's brandi cummings is live in williamsburg with details. the alert was sent out on saturday, saying a student contracted the zika virus over the winter break while traveling in central america. the college will not release any information about the student - like the person's gender, or why he or she was in central america or even who he or she was with. officials will only say the student is still enrolled. officials have said the student is expected to recover and is not having any symptoms of the zika virus. zika is primarily spread to people through a college spokesperson told me the student alerted college officials on friday that he or se contracted the virus and the advisory was sent out on saturday. during an interview this afternoon a spokesperson stressed that they believe there is no risk to anyone else on

headache. evidence is growing that the virus could be causing devastating birth defects in babies born to mothers who became infected while pregnant. there's also evidence zika could be causing guillan barre (gee-on bah-ray) syndrome that temporarily paralyzes some people. coming up in our next half hour: i'll talk to a state health department virus. a williamsburg woman could spend decades in prison for stealing from an 82- year-old man. he hired her to help out around the house. but while she was doing that -- federal investigators say she stole more than 558- thousand dollars. 10 on your side's lex gray spoke with the victim today. anita, pete mcdonald tells me the woman now accused of stealing so much from him was more like a friend than an employee. he hired dana morris back in november 20- 11. they would watch morning t-v and go out to lunch. but morris also did his laundry and handled his mail and bills. and that's where he eventually found a problem. mcdonald says in december of 2014 -- a check

had allegedly been doing. when he would write her 400-dollar checks every month -- she was apparently adding a one, then a 3, then a 4. eventually, mcdonald says she was paying herself as much at 44-hundred dollars a month. according to federal court documents, morris committed wire fraud when she sent the money to a bank in texas. she was arrested january 13. pete mcdonald/alleged victim 12:20 i'd say i was more disillusioned and hurt and angry, my god, you're supposed to know people. completely misjudged her, which is the same reaction from people around here who ate with us and knew her and they can't believe it. she's a nice person. :41 morris already posted bond, and pleaded not guilty. i reached out to both her and her attorney today, but didn't hear back. her trial in federal court is scheduled for march 31st. i'm lex gray, 10 on your

several people at a hotel on york street. holloway is in jail without bond. the york-poqouson sheriffs office is looking for a gas station robber. these are surveillance photos from the tabb exxon on big bethel road. investigators say a man with a gun walked in around 6-45 saturday morning and demanded money from the register. he ordered the clerk to the floor and ran. chesapeake police are working to identify the two women in this surveillance photo. detectives say they used a stolen credit. the victim says she lost her wallet on january 4th in the centerville turnpike area. a short time later --- someone used the victim's credit cards at several stores in the greenbrier area. norfolk police are still working to make an arrest in a weekend drive-by shooting. bullets hit three people --- including two teenagers. it happened around 3:30 yesterday afternoon on a basketball court near widgeon road and partridge street. that's just a few blocks behind norview high school. detectives say someone fired shots from a blue s-u-v. a 13-year-old, a

year-old were shot. police say all three victims should recover. norfolk police are investigating another shooting on east olney road. that's near downtown. it happened around 7-45 last night. police say the victim should recover. if you have information about any of these crimes --- call the crime line. a man is behind bars charged in the murder of his mother in norfolk. police say 22-year-old shawn hunter shot and killed sonya hunter saturday morning. it happened outside their home on westcliff drive, off east little creek road. detectives haven't told us about a motive. family members did tell 10 on your side hunter needs help for a mental illness. there is a memorial service tonight for a family of six killed in a murder-suicide. police found the bodies of todd, lori, landon, brooke, doris, and cameron dooley inside two different homes on north george washington highway and wildwood road last week. investigators say 26-year-old cameron dooley shot and killed his relatives before
