18-year-old virginia tech student charged in her murder. investigators believe the two had an inappropriate relationship and that lovell was planning to expose it. they believe that could be the reason she was killed. about an hour ago one of the suspects accused in her death was in court for a bail hearing. lawyers representing 19- year-old natalie keepers rescheduled the hearing from yesterday . 18-year-old david charges in lovell's kidnapping and murder. a major sexual assault testing project is moving in virginia. it's part of a 1-point-4 million dollar program being led by attorney general herring's office. the goal is to clear out a backlog of more than 2-thousand untested sexual assault evidence kits. the commonwealth finalized a contract to perform the testing at a northern virginia facility. the first kits submitted for testing will come from virginia beach. some of the kits date back to 1988. police in norfolk need your help to find an armed purse thief.

live in maryland and dc. some virginia state lawmakers say kids going to public school should have at least 20 minutes of physical activity a day. a bill has already been approved in the senate. now members of the house are looking to pass a similar bill. some lawmakers say the bill is unfair for teachers and local districts. the bill applies to students in kindergarten through fifth grade. later today the coast guard cutter bear should return back to portsmouth. for the past month the bear's crew has been patroling the waters in the caribbean to stop drugs from entering the country. in one bust alone, the crew confiscated more than 46 pounds of cocaine. amazon prime users - a new service starts today in hampton roads. the company says its one-hour delivery service is expanding to virginia beach and other places in the seven cities. the service is for thousands of daily essentials. in virginia beach, prime now is available from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.

the accomack county sheriff's office is investigating the overnight shooting death of man in horntown. we're told 22 year old robert franklin baytops iv was shot outside a home, just after midnight. baytops later died at a maryland hospital. if you know anything about this shooting - you're asked to call the sheriff's office at 7-8-7-1-1-3-1. a prank gone wrong in arizona is making headlines this midday... police say a prankster -- pretending to be from a fire- suppression company ... called this tucson jack-in-the-box tuesday morning. the caller convinced the employees to smash every window .... after telling them the gas levels were high and the building needed to be evacuated ... authorities are investigating the incident is being treated as a criminal act. meanwhile, a similar prank happened in california ... on tuesday, someone called a

employee about a fake gas leak. the caller convienced the worker to smash the windows of the restaurant. that worker used a car -- causing about 35-thousand dollars in damages. police in eastern wisconsin say a bomb threat at the sheriff's office appears to be tied to the controversial netflix series. the person who called in the threat wednesday evening made a reference to "getting justice" for steven avery. avery is the wisconsin man whose prosecution in a 2005 killing was the centerpiece of the netflix series "making a murderer." the series questions avery's treatment and suggests the possibility that sheriff's deputies planted evidence. authorities didn't find any suspicious devices. an investigation is ongoing. australian media reports passengers on a cruise ship which docked in sydney today have the stomach flu. the outbrere affected 158 passengers on the diamond princess cruise ship which had

12-day trip to new zealand. some passengers say the cruise operators took measures to contain the outbreak by confining patients to their rooms. a california helicopter is safe and sound after a close call with a large drone flying too high. the fresno county sheriff's department helicopter pilot says he spotted something in the sky headed towards the chopper. at first he thought it was a bird. it turned out to be a drone illegally flying almost 600 feet up. the pilot gripped the controls to dodge the fixed wing drone-- as it flew just over the top of the helicopter's blades. he says the chopper and it's crew narowly avoided what could have been a major disaster.
