plunge into the water behind me, that set the stage for a police chase to turn in a lifesaving rescue tracks from a car that lost control lead up to the hampton creek bridge on mercury boulevard. according to hampton police saturday morning a blue nissan careened off the road. it hit a parked car and a tree. but, when officers tried to talk to the driver. he ran, and jumped in the hampton creek. danny mason / tried to rescue man c0002 1:03:47 " we saw it he had drifted this far down in that short time. 1:03:58 for nearly twenty minutes danny mason watched as the man floated down the creek, he tried to help... danny to try and get his attention to osee if he could move to see we thought he was unconcious." 1:05:53 from the looks of this rescue video from hampton police. the man couldnt move his arms. firefighters realized the same problem. that's why one plunged into the chilly water and brought him into the

don't forget to always stay connected through our wavy weather app. it's free for all apple and android users. new information tonight about two water main breaks we first brought to you on wavy-dot-com the first pipe burst on shore drive near east little creek road around 2:30 this morning. a second pipe broke around 5 a.m. on tidewater drive. 10 on your side's joe fisher has been monitoring the progress in both areas --- and joe, the big impact was on drivers today. deanna -- roads closed at both locations todayt. in fact, the southbound lanes of tidewater drive still closed right now. i'm told the two breaks are not believed to be connected. but the work to fix them kept crews busy all day long. nats the fix-up and the clean-up -- an all day affair on this stretch of tidewater drive in norfolk. the city says a 16-inch

says he doesn't know why either of the the breaks happened -- but he says likely stressed the pipes until they burst. and work on that break causing the geyser on shore drive is just about fixed. as for the break on tidewater drive, i'm told that was a 60-year-old cast iron line replaced today. traffic is expected to be moving in both directions when they wrap up their work tonight. live in the newsroom, i'm joe fisher, 10 on your side. we're learning more about charges against a richmond police officer accused of murder. david cobb went in front of a judge earlier this week. in october -- police say cobb was off-duty when he shot and killed an unarmed teenager. the defense says paterson brown junior got into cobb's car at a car wash. cobb identified himself as an
