it will be in downtown suffolk by 8:00 or 8:15 p.m. right at the oceanfront by 9:30 p.m. it is a long way away in terms of moving on in. in terms of any snowfall with it, there is no paul white up in the mountains, but that is it, so we are not concerned about it. as far as any snow we might have, it might be tomorrow night when we could see some snow. .08, .05, nothing very much. a quarter of an inch of snow to richmond. the ground is warm. we could see tomorrow night a dusting and at most a flurry or two in the hampton roads area and a little further north. nothing real big. the bigger stuff happens next week. i will tell you what that is. it does not involve snow. that will be coming up in a few minutes. nicole: a big change day today day of whether.

tom: another pounding from nature. this is video from enzi 12. deanna: continues our team coverage tonight. deanna: the police here in kitty hawk closed the road for a few hours while crews make sure they removed the sand and any dangerous debris. the people that live here that i talked to say it does not rank very high on the list of the worst ones they have seen. >> this is not the worst one i have seen as far as storms, but you can see the difference. deanna: the kitty hawk mayor says the storm came and went quickly, and that made all the difference. >> right now, we have a nuisance. it lingered, it would have been a major problem. deanna: sometimes it falls into the ocean. >> the only reason that road is still there is what the state

deanna: he says nc dot is sending a crew out to kitty hawk to make sure the road does not need any repairs or reinforcements. >> it would make sense to kind of weight. we are not that -- kind of wait. we are not in danger, but it is their call. deanna: the dunes, more of nc 12 could be in danger. >> there are no sandbags here. if we continue to get storms, there is a good chance this section will do like the section that needed to be repaired. deanna: they hope to get a private firms replenish 100 feet of beach. the bidding process for this private process actually starts tomorrow. he says it will cost tens of millions of dollars partially funded through a beach nourishment tax.

about 12:45 p.m. this afternoon from the southampton county sheriff's office. they say they are not looking for any suspects. there have been very few details released. about 12:45 p.m. the recalled to this address. member. he would not say where that emergency dispatchers. he also said they could not comment on how the two adults died, and what they have been able to figure out in their investigation so far. there were very family members here when we arrived but they did not want to comment. some of them extremely upset they cannot even talk about it. their names have not been released, but as soon as we get the information, we will give it to you. live in southampton county, liz, 10 on your side. tom: new details of a body found in the city. a man believed to be in his 80's

the man died of natural causes. information from a deadly shooting over the weekend in norfolk. he was identified as 21-year-old kevin greene. he was found shot several times yesterday morning at around 10:00. the discovery came moments after police got calls about gunshots in the area. so far, no arrests in that case. nicole: police arrested a man after a standoff in chesapeake. investigators second start at around 7:30 a.m. this morning as a domestic situation between two brothers. for a while, one man was inside the home and refused to come out. the man came out of the house on his own. he will have a mental evaluation now. his mother was not hurt. tom: republican congressman randy forbes says he is leading his district for a different one. for more than a decade, he served the fourth and lived in in chesapeake. he is running for the second district. scott is leaving at the end of his term and endorsed forbes

side, you are watching wavy news 10 at 6:00. tom: we are back now with a local family's search for the truth after their loved one is shot and killed by police. nicole: this is a story we have been covering since it happened in december. that is when corey eckstein was shot in suffolk. police said eckstein was chasing kids down the street with a gun in his hand, but his parents say the story does not add up and that is why they got in contact with andy fox. andy: even the report he was chasing them is called into question. he had a broken kneecap with a pin in it. we have been through paperwork and witness accounts trying to figure out the truth in the death of corey eckstein. >> it is hard. andy: she is the mother of 28-year-old corey eckstein. >> this is where my son's life

andy: he was shot by a police officer on december 28. >> we ask a lot of questions and you expect answers. andy: they wanted answers and we started digging. the autopsy report confirms what a source first told us. cory was killed by a gunshot wound entering the right back. the bullet entered the back here and exits the right chest. our source confirms cory was sitting on the ground when he was shot in the back. >> i am outraged. andy: something police believe corey brought actions on the suspect and concern for safety. >> he is on the ground and usually him in the back. while? -- why? >>andy: his friend drops him off and shortly later he is following juveniles. >> he started screaming a lot of profanity, and then he started threatening that he was going to kill one of them.

the one corey was following. he would not say why but he says corey had a gun. >> and then what happened? andy: at 5:15 p.m., the officer shoots corey in the back after he is ordered to the ground. corey dies two hours later. his parents wanted answers after he was shot. they claimed all they got were lies. >> he has been shot, so my first question is who shot him? his response to me was we have to suspect we are looking for. andy: two suspects? he was shot by the officer. >> i feel like they are hiding something. andy: they want to know when he police were already in his apartment before they got a search warrant accusing him of malicious activity. according to the search warrant, police do not sees anything from his apartment and there are

police first claimed on the warrant officers arrived and found a subject in the middle of the street with a gun in his hand, but that was not true. that line was changed on following search warrants to officers encounter the suspect, who was causing the disturbance. no mention of gun in hand. >> he was yawning or screaming and hollering at the police officer. all of a sudden, i heard a gunshot, and that was it. andy: we found a neighbor close enough to hear his last words after the officer shot him. he does not want to be identified. >> they told the cop, you just shot me, bro. when i heard a female voice say i found a gun, and that is when the young man who was shot replied and said it is not a real gun. it is a fake gun. andy: police did find a realistic style bb gun found in close proximity. police do not define to me but

on the coldest day of the year, it seemed appropriate to meet his parents at the grave site of their son. >> i want to know what happened to him. and i want to know the why of what happened to him. >> we want to know the truth. andy: we contacted the suffolk police to respond to our report. the e-mail address the police department is still conducting the criminal and internal affairs investigations related to the case. over the statement made. both officers involved in the case are back on administrative duties within the suffolk police department. they are officer james baber and officer sheryl everabergo. >> now your super doppler 10 forecast with don slater. don: we are looking at rainfall chances are it will stay as rain.

snow mixed in. it mixed with rain, it will melt so we are not looking at a few relating snow whatsoever in the region. kind of an interesting set up. we see the rain showers developed over the ocean front in virginia beach. really offshore for the most part. you can see these develop very rapidly and then will extent of up eastern shore. there is another band that will move through the eastern shore with a little bit of scattered rainfall. it is creating some snow in the north to maryland and delaware, but not for our part of the world. really, there is no snowfall in our part of the world. you can see the rainfall going on across the eastern shore right now. another band of rain from the delta area further to the west across the bay to reedville. there is the area of rain moving to emporia right now. it is moving eastward at 30

it will be to downtown suffolk at 8:30 p.m. in the municipal center at 8:46 p.m. and at the oceanfront by 9:30 p.m. just to give you an idea of what is going on. it continues to move to the east and the east-northeast. you can see why it is developing. there is still some wind in this area right here. the moisture it's the wind -- hits the wind and the rain develops. we continue to see scattered rainfall. this is 2:00 in the morning. snow not real likely with that. a couple of links to the north and west. in the afternoon hours, we see a little bit of scattered rain. it will be around 49. relatively warm for us to see snow, but we could see a mr. at 7:00, 9:00 among midnight

no accumulation real likely. further to the north, there could be accumulating snow to be about it. on wednesday, this forecast model and a couple of others have snow developing offshore for the most part at 3:00 unless they. and and eight other -- at 3:00 on wednesday. and then another development. we will see a flake or two of snow and that will be about it most of it will be mixed with rain. the main thing we have going on in our forecast, it will get cold. really cold. the long-range forecast model, closer to 35 degrees. into friday, it warms up to 35 or 38 and and it really drops coming up saturday and sunday. of her 20's to the 30's for high temperatures during the weekend.

care that never quits. appointments available now. bruce: a big announcement today regarding the old dominion football team. they are now adding the university of virginia cavaliers to their schedule. it ishas taken years but they have agreed to a three-game football schedule now giving monarch fans a chance to see their school play either uva or virginia tech each season for a decade to come. the deal with virginia begins in two years with a game in charlottesville in 2018 and then a game in norfolk two years later. virginia will pay $400,000 to odu further stadium.

the opponents in conference usa may not have regional interest, but the deal means the monarchs will have played every acc school in virginia and north carolina except for duke. toss in the home and home agreement and this is good stuff. coach wilder announced his offensive line coach and another assistant will be replaced. i expect to see wilder replacing them with two very experienced coaches who will help them with recruiting. ocean lakes high school has hired joe jones to replace chris scott at virginia beach school's nationally recognized program. jones led his team to the playoffs the past four years and
