accuse him of breaking news about a shooting investigation in newport news. police say a man who allegedly shot his mother on kitmal drive last week has been arrested. authorities tracked down 20-year-old devante williams in los angeles. we first told you about police say devante wiliams shot his mother on kitmal drive, in the ocean lakes section of the city. the shooting caused nearby ocean lakes elementary to be put on a lockdown, because it was so close to the scene. the mother was seriously injured in the shooting. newport news police is working with the l-a-p-d to get williams extradited back to the area. he is facing several charges including attempted murder and carjacking. a federal judge will decide by the end of the day whether to approve a sex discrimination settlement for female workers, who took b-a-e systems norfolk ship repair to court. if it's approved, the company will pay more than four million dollars. 10 on your side's erin kelly was in court today and talked to a woman who

employees mistreated her. judge arenda wright allen heard from both parties -- who said they were pleased with the settlement . if it's approved -- it will be the first settlement of its kind to be reached in systematically denied raises and promotions for them. that they were stereotyped and that some bosses sexually harassed them. bae denies the allegations in the complaint but says litigation would be uncertain and costly. we talked to janet aviles -- who has worked as a ship fitter for bae. she's a plaintiff in the case and calls the settlement a small victory. 2541 i didn't want them to see me cry, but it's so emotional and i still get emotional now 2546 just to think about the way i was treated 2549 the judge will decide by the end of the day. an attorney for bae told me they are hopeful the judge will approve the settlement and are looking forward to moving forward. coming up on wavy news 10 at 4 -- i'll explain what changes the company would make as

accused of hurting his girlfriend's son back in september 20-14. child protective services says - her e mom nor the boyfriend took the child to get medical help. the boy didn't go to the hospital until several days later, when a relative noticed the burns. authorities eventually foun dakota and arrested him. they sent him back to newport news city jail on friday. police say it appears the little boy's injuries are healing. neatw idday, police in newport news are investigating the robbery of a 16-year-old boy at gun point. the boy was taking a short cut on alan drive while walkign with friends yesterday evening. that's when a man appeared and held a gun up to him. the man demanded the jacket. he then ran away after getting those items. police say they are looking for a man, 5 foot 8, with a goatee. if you know anything crime line. developments on a story out of france. that's where two children died when the school bus they were riding in crashed in the eastern

the 12-year-old boy and the 15-year-old girl died when the driver lost control in snowy conditions, causing the bus to flip over. the driver and three other children were slightly hurt. the cause of the accident isn't clear right now, but some reports suggest the bus was going too fast for the bad roads. two people went to the hospital after thisn crash in norfolk. this happened on tidewater drive near biltmore. police say the truck you see on its side there got hit by another car while it was trying to turn. both drivers went to the hospital but both are expected to be okay. we are working to learn if anyone will be charged. in case you missed it, the first presidential primary is over and the results are all in. on the republican side, donald trump ran away with the race. he got 35 percent of the vote. polls predicted a double digit win for the businessman heading in to the vote, and trump did just that. he won by almost 20 points. during a victory speech last night, he said he is very excited about the results, but there is a lot more to be done.

senator ted cruz came in third, followed by jeb bush and senator marco rubio, who couldn't turn his momentum from iowa into a strong showing in new hampshire. on the democratic side, it wasn't even close between vermont senator bernie sanders and former secretary of state hillary clinton. he won by almost 22 points. the senator is making income inequality the focus of his campaign sanders told supporters his win shows the political and economic establishment of america that people will no longer accept a rigged economy. l/ concord, new hampshire:02 (sen. bernie sanders / democratic presidential candidate:40) "together we have sent the message that will echo from wall street to washington... from maine to california... is already overcrowded. some parents in virginia beach feel their voices haven't been heard when it comes to changing the public school grading system. families, school board members and others, interested in the issue, attended a forum sponsored by concerned parents last night. the meeting comes as the public school division looks to change grading policies for secondary schools - and develop a uniform standard. some parents want on-going practices to change, like teachers allowing students to turn work in late and retake tests. one mother believes students are not being held accountable. she's calling on change. sot vicky manning - concerned parent c2 c2 01:02:00 "we really want parents to be heard and we want the administration to open the door for parents to speak out and to be heard about this." a committee of teachers, parents, students and school board members are working on recommendations. so far, they haven't made any formal submissions. any changes the school board makes, will go into effect during the next school

the city council in ferguson missouri announced last night it will approve an agreement between the city and the u-s department of justice. but only if some changes are made. the council voted unanimously to the agreement, but only if seven conditions are met. the proposal comes after months of negotiations. but after an analysis found it would cost the city close to four-million dollars in its first year, ferguson leaders are asking for changes. the biggest change -- removing a justice department requirement for police salaries to be raised. the department of justice has already said no to that. ferguson's mayor believes there is nothing wrong with what

knowles says: . we're not trying to take away any safe guards, we're not trying to take away anything subsequent about the decree. many of these we're going to continue to do that." the d-o-j says it may explore legal actions against ferguson for delaying the nnew policy in coming to the city. a former priest is arrested for a murder that happened almost 56 years ago. 81-year-old john feit is accused of killing irene garza in dallas in 19-60. the 25 year-old grade school teacher and beauty church the night of her murder for confession. father feit was 27 at the time. police say he was the last person to see her - what new evidence they found. authorities arrested feit outside his home in phoenix. he left the priesthood many children and authorities are working to send him back to texas.

san diego was diverted by the flight crew. all because a passenger allegedly got too drunk and started threatening others on board. airline officials say the man sat in the middle airlines flight. he started to become disruptive, and flight attendants came over to calm him down. that's when he started cursing at them. he even threatened the crew at one point. that's when the pilots decided to land in denver to get the man off the plane. several passengers caught the uncermonious exit on their cell phone. many of them clapped and cheered as air marshalls escorted the man off the flight. (s/ renee wilkinson / passenger :18) "they changed seats for a couple of passengers so there were some well built men sitting around him to try and contain him. at one point the flight attendants moved the drink card so in between coach and first class so he could get up front anymore. the flight was able to continue its journey to san diego without any further disruptions. a popular women's soccer

concerned about the zika outbreak in brazil heading into the olympics. u-s national team goalkeeper hope solo told sports illustrated if she had to make the choice today, she would not go to the summer games in rio. solo says she feels that competing in the olympics should be a safe environment for every athlete, male or female. the u-s olympic committee said it hasn't advised athletes to consider not competing because of the virus. the women's soccer team is playing games in texas as they try to qualify for rio. it may be cold here, but other parts of the country are enjoying some record breaking high temperatures. people in seattle took adantage of a 62-degree day yesterday. residents got to go outside to take the dog for a walk, or just go for a job, and some peopel just fed the ducks. about 140 miles west in forks, washington, temperatures reached 73 degrees, the warmest temperature ever in the month of february there. that is about seven degrees warmer than the high in miami.

fewer days in class, and teachers may get more time for professional development. big economic news for hampton roads. norfolk city council approved the money to entice data processing company a-d-p to relocate. the vote allows the economic development authority to use five-million dollars to persuade the fortune 500 company to move into downtown norfolk, and bring thousands of new jobs with it. the relocation isn't a done deal just yet. a-d-p still needs to make the decision to move, and right now there is no timeline for when that could happen. in the wake of corruption charges against norfolk city treasurer anthony burfoot, a city councilman is hoping to figure out what went wrong. andy protogyrou is calling for an audit of city policies and procedures. he wants the city auditor to look over burfoot's indictment and see if any policies need to addressed. he provided a copy of his memo to council at last night's work session c23 4:40:30 - as you read the document that i and then in turn, to

police say devante williams shot his mother last thursday at the home on kitmal drive, in the ocean lakes section of the city. the shooting caused nearby ocean lakes high school to be put on a lockdown, because it was so close to the scene. the mother was seriously extradited back to the area. he is facing several charges including attempted murder and carjacking. more emergency workers are at the site of the train crash in germany that killed at least 10 people. the trains crashed head-on about 40 miles south of munich. the two train drivers are thought to be among the dead, and one forest. authorites are still trying to figure out why several safety measures failed and how the trains got on the same set of tracks at the same time. the search for survivors in an apartment building that collapsed in an earthquake in taiwan enters it's sixth day. more than 100 people got trapped when the building came down on saturday. search teams are still

like excavators, to dig through the rubble and find anyone who may still be alive. the rescuers know that as more time passes, the chance of finding anyone else alive becomes slimmer. many family members are surrounding the building, waiting for any news on loved ones. former israeli prime minister ehud olmert will be spending more time in prison. olmert will have his original 18-month prison sentence extended for one month. it's because he pressured a friend not to testify in the several legal cases against him. he pleaded guilty to that charge last month. the court in jerusalem convicted the former prime minister in 20-14 of accepting bribes to promote a controversial real-estate project. he got a sentence of six years for that. he is the first former israeli prime minister to go to prison. an indian-american actor is accepting an apology from a mexican airline. the flight crew wouldn't let him on to the plane because he was wearing a turban.

home from mexico city to new york monday. when he wouldn't take his turban off, security wouldn't let him on to the plane. the turban is part of the dress code for sikh men, and it carries a deep religious signicance. still, the airline would not let him fly until he let them check it. ahluwalia says: "you know i've been asked that before and i said i will talked amongst themselves and one of the aeromexico agents came back to me and said: 'you will not be flying aeromexico, you should book yourself on another airline'." the airline apologized to the man in a statement. an elephant goes into a viallage and starts destryoing things. this happened earlier today in india. the elephant smashed homes and sent frieghtened residents running for cover. the animal wandered from a nearby forrest into the town. an official says the elephant was a loner, and was looking for food.

these people wanted to see how they "stacked up" against the competition. but most of them got "flattened" at the end. residents of liberal, kansas competed against people from a town in england in the 20-16 international pancake day race. it's a pre-lent tradition that brings together the two communities from opposite sides of the world. the race features women running a 415-yard course with a pancake in a pan. this

parsons won the kansas leg of the race. but did not beat the time of the england winner. a 93-year-old world war 2 veteran is in australia. he flew there from virginia to go see his wartime girlfirend. norwood thomas landed in adelaide to reunite with 88-year-old joyce morris. they met in london shortly before d-day. thomas was a paratrooper at the base near where she lived. they lost touch after the war, but last year, they reconnected via skype. after their story went public, a fundraising campaign helped raise money for thomas to travel to australia to see morris, where she now lives. s/ norwood thomas/ us world war ii veteran :19 question: "what's the first thing you're going plans for the week, what's the plans?" thomas: "i really don't know. i'm just sitting and taking it as life comes,
