and another suspect faces charges tonight. officers arrested 25-year-old tanner meeks on sidney place this morning. police and hazmat crews raided the home overnight. it's their third bust, over the past five days. officers say they found materials to make meth in a shed in the backyard. neighbors tell us meeks moved there in june-- and they've been suspicious of him all along. super = judith neighborhood, but like later on i heard the house could jave exploded with the chemicals they had in there," ((but too)) ((c26 44:13)) "shocked, amazed, dissapointed and then just horrifyed that this was going on across the street from me." newport news officers also raided two homes on middlesex road this week -- for a total of four arrests. on sunday -- officers arrested autumn wells after finding meth-making materials in her car. then on tuesday -- evidence led them to another meth lab in a home across the street. michael adkins and dana

and in hampton-- police are looking into whether a hazardous material investigation there, is connected to the ones in newport news. that discovery was made wednesday on cynthia drive. police say they found items consistent with making meth. they say investigators have sent materials to the lab, and they plan to release information about charges. reports of shots fired sent joint base langley eustis into lockdown today. everything started around 11:30. that's when a call came from inside building 650 -- the soldiers support center. military officials say 3 contractors were working on the roof when they heard- what they thought- was gunfire. they say they didn't find any evidence-- and it may have been a misunderstanding. super=colonel bill there is noises on the installation so a contractor who is not familiar with the military might have jumped to the conclusion" about an hour after that call came in, the lockdown was lifted. officials still don't

a norfolk officer is on administrative duty tonight. the department is investigating accusations that he exposed himself to a woman in the parking lot of a portsmouth walmart. she did not want us to show her face, but says him out of a photo lineup. starting next month, a new man will take over the portsmouth fire department. the city manager has named dwayne bonnette as the fire chief. he has served with the alexandria fire department and the coast guard. he has more than 25 years experience in related fields. he starts on march 14th. on monday, portsmouth plans to welcome a new police chief. tonya chapman will take the oath of office. according to the department, she is the first woman to hold that position. chapman has worked in various positions across virginia, most recently as the deputy secretary of public safety and homeland security. investigators are trying to figure out what caused a fire in virginia beach. they sent us these

an update to breaking news from virginia beach. police say someone stabbed a 14-year-old, and medics took him to the hospital. they say they got the call around nine, on wimbledon way -- near the intersection of lynnhaven parkway and holland road. officers say a homicide detective is investigating this, but the teen should recover. a grieving mother is calling for an independent investigation of an officer-involved shooting in virginia beach. in september, officers responded to the 7-eleven on lynnhaven parkway in the salem neighborhood. they say 35-year-old angelo perry opened fire on them, so they fired back on his

27-year-old india kager and their baby in the backseat. perry and kager died. the child was not hurt. days later, police told us perry had a record of crime and violence. they believed he was planning something-- and had him under surveillance at the time of the shooting. today, kager's mother met with a deputy commonwealth's attorney. she laid out her concerns with the police response-- and asked to see surveillance video from that night. she also met with police. 10 on your side's liz palka picks up where our brandi cummings left off today. liz, you spoke to kager's mother and an officer. nicole - i did check in with police. a spokeswoman told me they would not be commenting on this case today - or releasing new information. that includes some of the evidence kager's mother was hoping to discuss. a tearful gina best walks out of the virginia beach police department. she had just met with chief jim cervera for more than an hour. activist jerroll sanders was also in the room... c2 18:15:16 - we

night her daughter was killed. the bottom line is, there was no immediate threat. :26 best, who is india kager's mother, wants to know why police had to move in on suspect angelo perry that morning. police said in a news conference in december - they had been doing surveillance on perry. and believed he was connected to a murder. chief jim cervera said two guns were found in the car kager and perry were sitting in when they were shot and killed by police. 15=07:00 these weapons were used to shoot 5 individuals killing two of them and just 14 days later the same weapon was used to shoot at our police officers" best and sanders want to see surveillance from that night. police said it won't be released until commwealth's attorney colin stolle is finished with it. c2 18:15:58 - are we just to excuse that? stolle has the investigation in his hands now. sanders said cervera explained the report should be complete in about 30 days.
