breaking news from the campaign trail -- hillary clinton has won the democratic nevada caucus. the race between the former secretary of state and vermont senator bernie sanders was extremely close. this is a live look at clinton's camp in las vegas. minority voters had a strong showing at the polls, and many participants identified as liberals according to entrance polls. right now people in south carolina are voting in the republican primary. the election commission is expecting record turnout. former florida governor jeb bush, dr. ben carson, texas senator ted cruz, ohio governor john kasich, florida senator marco rubio and donald trump are waiting on the results. we'll let you know when we start hearing in. we've been getting a

here's what the deputies say happened. captian jim used his burn barrel friday afternoon. from what they can tell, he may have used an accelerant for the burning. at some point the barrell exploded and caught brincfield on fire. when medics and deputies got to his home they found him in the shower cooling his burns. the sheriff says the fire burned 3/4 of his body paramedics flew him to sentara norfolk general hospital. a neighbor told me the entire family has been called to his side this afteroon. the sheriff says the entire communty knows captain jim well. sheriff tony perry/ camden county, n.c. 17:51:42 "very dedicated to the community always wants to elp his fellow man, his neighbors out he's very involved with the chruch methodist church." 17:51:54 sheriff tony perry tells me tomorrow morning the church will have a ove offering for captain jim.

donations there during servces. in camden county matt gregry 10 on your side. all new tonight. a group spent the afternoon protesting the virginia beach police department. the mother of india kager and her supporters demonstrated outside the 7-eleven on lynnhaven parkway today. that's the intersection near salem road -- where police opened fire last year on the vehicle 27-year-old kager and 35-year-old angelo perry were sitting in. their couple's baby was with them but was not hurt. police say perry shot at them before they returned fire. kager's mother, gina best, tells us police had no right to open fire on the car while her daughter and the baby were inside. police tell us they had perry under surveillance because they connected him to a homicide in the green run area last year. as officers approached him september 5th, they say he started shooting. last night we told you best's mother is calling for the justice department to get involved and demanded to see surveillance video from the 7-eleven. police say they can't release any evidence while the commonwealth's attorney is
