in newport news. wednesday we told you officers found making meth on cynthia drive. investigators sent the testing. so far police have not made any arrests. new at 4: new information in a weekend meth lab bust in norfolk. detectives say one of the men who lived in the second floor apartment on west 27th street told police his partner assaulted him. when officers went to serve a warrant early sunday morning --- they say they police charged and released 31-year-old james patterson with frequenting a drug house. this man --- lance otis --- is behind bars charged with manufacturing and possessing meth. there's a new police chief in portsmouth. chief tonya chapman was sworn in this morning. she is the first african-american woman to hold the position in portsmouth. 10 on your side's jason marks was at the swearing-in ceremony this morning at city hall. chief chapman says today was a dream come true. a

a civil case involving seven women who alledge they were sexually abused by cosby and that his denials amount to defamation. it's believed to be the first time camille cosby has given testimony since dozens of women came forward with the allegations. bill cosby has acknowledged cheating on his wife. because camille was his manager, lawyers for his accusers say she may have information about how his inner circle tried to reject the sex assault claims. the justice department could have gotten its hands on the information it's seeking from apple --- if the county government that owned the iphone had installed the technology it paid for. if the technology called mobile device management had been on --- it could have allowed the f-b-i to easily and immediately unlock the phone as part of the terrorist investigation. the only person who knew the passcode to unlock the iphone is the dead gunman syed farook. he was an inspector at the san bernardino county's public health department. a judge in california ordered apple to help.
