20-14. police say latham threatened them with a knife before edington opened fire on west 30th street. latham's family says he suffered from mental illness. a longtime virginia beach police officer is in jail tonight -- accused of driving under the influence. fellow officers pulled sergeant margaret hobbs over last night. jail records show she had a child in the car with her. 10 on your side's liz palka joins us from newsroom. liz, what are her colleages saying about this? nicole - the people we have spoken to within the department are stunned. she's been with virginia beach police for 17 years and is highly respected. they also say hobbs got into some sort of accident right before she was arrested. a virginia beach police sergeant arrested for driving under the influence. virginia court records show sgt. margie hobbs' blood alcohol concentration was more than twice the legal limit. and that she had a child in the vehicle with her. c50 1:03 - the crook isn't going to place a

hobbs when she served as a public information officer. a police spokesman says she now works in the investigative division and has been with the department for 17 years. master police officer jimmy cason released few details on hobbs' arrest - other than it happened on sunday in the early evening. however, police sources tell us some sort of accident happened near the oceana nas dam neck annex. and that hobbs did have a norfolk's swat team and homicide squad. sources tell ten on your side they're shocked by the charge. they say, when hobbs decided to become a sergeant she was at the top of the department's list. adding, they wouldn't expect this from her. hobbs is currently being held in the virginia beach city jail. she will have a bond hearing early tomorrow morning. i'm liz palka, 10 on your virginia beach police say they robbed a

abducted her. 22-year-old ronnie anderson is also accused of sexually assaulting the victim. police couldn't show us the second suspect because he's underage. 10 on your side's erin kelly has been working to learn more from nearby businesses off northampton boulevard. erin? most of the surrounding businesses would have been closed at the time this is alleged to have occurred. but there may be surveillance video -- and tonight it's not clear what that could show. virginia beach police say wingate by wyndham hotel burton station road. around 12:30 am sunday -- officers say a woman was about to get out of her car -- when 22-year-old ronnie lesha anderson came up to her with a knife and demanded something she had. then, police say an underaged male who also woman's purse. when that didn't turn up anything of value, police say anderson forced his way into the woman's car -- and sexually assaulted her. staff at the wingate tell
