breaking news about a murder case from last may. u-s marshals caught the last three suspects wanted in the murder of a 17- year-old in portsmouth last year authorities found rodderick britt, andre keel, and jalon trotter hiding out in atlanta together. they were hiding out in an apartment. the three are accused of killing 17-year-old jayzayvia hill in may of last year. two others were hurt in the shooting. the suspects were originally arrested for the crime last year. but, the original charges against the suspects were nolle processed, and they were released. the commonwealths attorney decided to bring up the charges again earlier this month. all five suspects in the case are now in jail. samking beale and raykwuan short turned themselves in earlier this month. later this afternoon, jesse matthew junior will be in court in abermarle county. he is expected to plead guilty to the murders of two college students. the prosecutor announced last week matthew will take the plea deal to avoid the death penalty. matthew

hannah graham and 20-year-old morgan harrington in charlottesville. graham was a u-v-a student. she disappeared in september 20-14. harrington went to virginia tech and disappeared after a concert at u-v-a in 2009. matthew is already serving life in prison. a jury convicted him in june of last year for a sexual assault that happened in 2005. 10 on your side's erin kelly is in abermarle county for today's plea hearing. she'll give you a full report of what happened in the court room starting on wavy news 10 at 4. we're following developments in an earthquake in indonesia. tsunami warning after the seven-point-nine magnitude quake hit off the western coast of sumatra. the u-s geological survey says the quake centered about six miles below the surface of the indian ocean. the earthquake itseld was far from land, so damage wasn't too severe. but, officials still warned residents in coastal areas to get away from shore, in case a

toughest sanctions against north korea in 20 years. the u-s and north korea's ally china spent seven weeks negotiating the terms of the new sanctions. they include mandatory inspections of items leaving and coming into the country by sea or air. it also bans the sale of weapons to the country. the news sanctions come after north korea reportedly tested a long range missile and upped its nuclear activity. this comes just after north korean media released these pictures of kim jong un touring a factory. the factory is known as one of the main places for developing missiles in the country. the state broadcaster says kim emphasized the factory needed to be updated, to make it more modern. the visit comes as the u-n is about to vote on a new resolution for tougher sanctions against north korea over its recent nuclear activities and long- range rocket

super tuesday is in the books. and in case you missed any of the results we are here to recap for you. let's start on the democratic side, where hillary clinton won big over bernie sanders when it comes to including virginia...and she won by double digits in all but one state she took. senator sanders had strong showings in four states. he won minnesota, oklahoma, colorado, and his home state of vermont. on the republican side, donald trump continued his strong run during this election. he took seven states on super tuesday. however, senator ted cruz's campaign may have gotten a spark. he won three states, including his home state of texas. florida senator marco rubio got his first win of the cycle, taking minnesota. rubio also finished a close second to trump here in virginia, only trailing the billionaire by three points. now let's take a look how

the delegate counts. hillary clinton has a strong lead over senator sanders. she has just a little more than a far. that's more than double than what senator sanders 2-thousand-three- hundred-eighty-three to win the the nomination. on the other side, donald trump has the lead over ted cruz by 90 delegates. marco rubio is in thrid place, 110 behind cruz. ohio governor john kasich and doctor ben carson are fourth and fifth. despite being far behind, both say they have no plans to drop out. all of the candidates are back on the campaign trail today. they are getting ready for the next primaries elections and caucuses. kansas, kentucky, lousiana, maine, nebraska, and puerto rico will be contested this coming weekend. 10 on your side will get you all the results as they come in. new at midday -- police in norfolk are trying to new at midday -- police in norfolk are trying to

woamn dispatch tells us this happened on lafayette avenue around six this morning. dispatch says the woman told police the person who robbed her assaulted her and took her purse. we are working to find out how badly she was hurt. police haven't arrested anyone yet, but if you know anything about what happened, call crime line. norfolk police are looking for two overnight robbery suspects. investigators say two men with guns hit the 7-11 on granby street at la avenue just after midnight. that's in the riverview neighborhood. investigators say the men got some money and ran away. officers say no one was hurt. call the crime line if you have any information. also new at midday -- the northern landing bridge in chesapeake is operating under an alternate life schedule because it can't fully open. that's because a barge hit it yesterday morning. the barge was trying to go under the open bridge,

that caused damage to the bridge. but, the army corps of engineers took a look a the bridge and say lift, and only small boats can go through. officials don't know how long it will take bridge. police in suffolk are looking for the person who killed a 42-year-old man. we first told you about this yesterday morning when investigators said they found wayne pleasant hill cemetery off old dill brother-in-law, keith edwards, says watford had troubles. c34 keith edwards - clothes and i would take my clothes, whatever i could give him you know to get his self back, get his self back on his feet for a little while and then he would fall, he would fall again." so far police have neither given us any suspect information, nor told us how watford died. call the crime line if you know anything. 10 on your side continues it's investigation into a

investigation. but who -- if anyone -- could have killed a norfolk teenager with no known enemies. today marks one year since anjelica "aj" hadsell disappeared police later found her remains on an abandonded property 50 miles from her home. in the midst of the search, police arrested her adoptive charges. he became a person of interest in the case -- but never a suspect. even with all the time that has passed -- loved ones are still waiting for closure ((c1 22:22)) "you don't stop thinking about it. you never stop thinking about it. it's just how you think about it. some days you play over thinngs that were there signs, what would you do differently. some days i wake up and i think is this the day i'm going to get a phone call and charges are coming." 10 on your side's joe fisher has followed every development in this case

forecast. a teenager in tennesee is in jail today. shooting several people in his family, all because he didn't want to go to school. investigators say the suspect's grandmother tried to wake him up for school. that caused the 16-year-old to go into a rage. police say he grabbed a bullets hit his grandmother, his 12- year-old sister, and six-year-old nephew. fortunately, they are all expected to recover from their injuries. neighbors say shootings happen often where they live.

to it and it's sad that you have to be used to shootings in your own neighborhood mumford says: "the sixteen year old went to a closet, retrieved a handgun. the family was unaware that it was in the closet and he started firing." mos says: "i have a baby myself and there is a lot of kids in this apartment complex and it's not safe to be out here." the teen is charged with four counts of attempted homicide. a police officer and a suspect are dead after they shot each other. it happened in texas yesterday. police say 29-year-old officer david hofer walked up to the suspect and the suspect started shooting at him. officer hofer shot back. both of them died at the hospital. police have not said why officer hofer was approaching the suspect. hundreds of people were forced out of their houses in upstate new york. a norfolk southern train came off the tracks and spilled ethonol. 15 to 20 cars came off the tracks in ripley new york, just before ten

the engineer and conductor were the only two people on the trian, and they were not hurt. officials say two of the cars were leaking onto the tracks. evacuate 55 houses. those homes were about one-thousand feet away from the accident. families went to a shelter at a nearby churchs which gave the things they needed to spend the night. (stella zeigler/mechanic street resident) "first it was the house shaking real bad, and then the train to derailed right in front of our house." (jill otto/south state street resident) "i just heard a loud ... almost like a tornado was coming through. it was just a loud wooshing, screeching noise." (mark smith/ripley fire department chief) "all the water is being secured. all the run-off is being retained and the appropriate measures to take care of that." investigators are working to figure out how the train came off the tracks. an attorney filed a federal lawsuit against the governor of mississippi. it's over the confederate

part of the state flag. carlos moore says the flag makes african-americans scared, and fear for their lives. he says the flag amounts to quote "state-sanctioned hate speech." governor phil bryant responded to the lawsuit. he says the design of the state flag is up to voters and he doesn't have the power to change it. (gov. phil bryant/ (r) mississippi) "oh i think it's a frivolous lawsuit. i think it's a filed i think an inaccurate lawsuit because he's asked the governor to provide remedy that the governor cannot provide. i cannot issue some executive order and bring down the state flag." last month, bryant signed a proclimation to declare april "conferderate history month" in mississippi. state legislators recently killed a bill that would have taken the emblem off the flag. people in washington state are cleaning up debris in their yards today. take a look at this cell

trampoline blowing across someone's back yard. the wind storm also knocked down trees and power lines throughout the town of enumclaw. more tha n 75-thousand people lost power. the national weather service says gusts reached nearly 60 miles an hour. chyrons: enumclaw, wa and people in alabama are cleaning up after a possible tornado hit the middle of that state. the national weather service says the radar showed a tornado, but they still have to confirm it touched down. people in several towns reported trees falling down, and cars and houses being damaged by the high winds and debris. the sherriff's office says four people were hurt, but they should recover. in a month. whole foods shoppers, we have a recall to tell you about. the company is recalling maytag raw milk blue cheese nationwide because of a possible listeria contamination. recent tests in iowa showed listeria bacteria in two batches of the product. the recall involves cheese sold in packaging like the one shown on your screen. maytag dairy farms suspended production and distribution while officials try to figure out the cause of the problem. whole

the anthem of the seas came back in port in new jersey this morning. the ship had a voyage cut possibility of severe weather brought the ship back home. the crew on the ship says at an average of nine new cases of the reported by passengers each day over the last week. you may remember, this is the same ship that was damaged in a coastal storm off the last month. three sheriffs deputies in san francisco are a facing charges. they are accused of forcing inmates to fight each other. two fights that happened at the county jail last year allegedly happened for the deputies' enjoyment. investigators say one of the deputies told the two inmates to fight, or he would handcuff, pepper-spray, and beat them. one of the inmates was reportedly much bigger than the other, and the smaller prisoner got hurt. authorities say the other deputies did not try to stop the fight. because it really was done for jest and they were betting money on the winner." the deputies have two days to turn themselves in, or they will face more charges. a follow up to a story we first brought you yesterday. a man who lead california police say lead them on a low speed chase in a a man who lead california police say lead them on a low speed chase in a hummer was arrested by police, hours after the chase ended. police accuse thomas ueno of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and her two children. police chased the hummer for two hours monday. the woman and kids were both inside. the chase ended, ueno let them go, and then went over a hill to keep himself from getting caught. he managed to avoid police for hours, before they finally found him yesterday afternoon. police say the woman and her

a woman who cut off a four-year-old girl's head and held it while she shouted in the streets of moscow appeared in court yesterday. the 38-year-old woman was seen holding the child's head outside a moscow train station monday. a video on the internet shows the horrifying scene. investigators say the woman was the child's nanny. prosecutors believe she did not act alone in the killing. they think a group of people told her to kill the child, and she listened to them because she is mentally unstable.. people who live in moscow have been placing flowers and children's toys outside the train station in memory of the little girl. police in colombia arrested the brother of the former president of that country. investigators say santiago uribe was involved in murders and kidnappings. they say he was trying to form what they call a death squad in the 1990's. uribe has denied any involvement in the killings for years. a police captain says he belonged to a group called "the 12 apostles," who planned murders from his ranch. the former presideent, alvaro uribe, says his brother

the fan just laughed it off, probably because if you can afford courtside seats, you should have no trouble affording the expensive drafts. a reunion in utah a woman never thought would happen. meridee mcfalls was shoveling snow outside her house, when her wedding ring slipped off her finger. it got buried in the snow. she posted pictures of it on social media, and used a metal detector in hopes of finding the ring, but had no luck. it wasn't until two months later the snow melted and a group of high school boys found it laying on the ground. the teens found a way to track it back to meridee.
