afternoon. the wind certainly hasn't helped anything - it kept temperatures in the in the upper-30s and low-40s. this evening, the clouds will gradually break overnight, expect decreasing clouds with lows in the mid-30s by tomorrow morning. we'll start with a decent amount of sunshine tomorrow, but more clouds will fill in as a quick-moving clipper system drops in from the great lakes. it won't be as windy tomorrow, but still cool with highs in the upper-40s. as that weak clipper brushes across hampton roads, we will rain showers after midnight into early sunday morning. once the showers are gone, expect increasing sunshine on of sunshine through most of the week with highs back

found on the property once owned by o-j simpson. police only became aware of the knife recently. it's being examined by a forensics team. it was found by a construction worker -- and given to an off-duty police officer. officials are trying to figure out why the officer never turned it over to them. unrelated charges. we also have new information on a story week -- out of ohio -- where a 14 year old opened fire in a school cafeteria. officials now say two students knew the boy had a gun at school before the shooting happened -- but didn't tell anyone. they have been charged with failing to report a crime and have been issued a summons to appear in juvenile court. two students were shot. two others were hurt. they are all expected to recover. 14 year old james hancock has been charged with attempted murder. tragedy strikes a family three children were through their home overnight. according to police -- they were asleep upstairs asleep downstairs. she woke up home was on fire -- but wasn't able to get to upstairs to rescue the children. she escaped without injury. an officer was hurt trying to smash through a window to reach the kids. the cause of the fire is under investigation - but fireifghters say it

this weekend voters in five states are heading to the polls to choose their party's 2016 presidential nominee. saturday's contests come after a wild week in presidential politics. the question is will voters change their minds? ten on your side's national correspondent mark meredith has a look at where things stand in the race for the white house. nats from the debate hostile, loud, and divisive. the delegate count - right now 98 delegates ahead of texas senator ted cruz - and even further ahead of florida senator marco rubio. nat break of sanders meanwhile vermont senator bernie sanders is facing fewer options to become the democratic nominee. hillary clinton continues leads the senator by 600 delegates and is nearly halfway to needing enough delegates to wrap up her race. fullscreen a c-n-n o-rc poll of registered voters shows in a hypothetical matchup clinton would be able to beat trump in a head to head match-up 52 to 44 percent but would face a much closer race between both senators ted cruz and marco rubio. new developments out of flint michigan -- where crews are starting to dig up some of the old lead-contaminated pipes. flint mayor karen weaver says they are targeting neighborhoods with the highest number of children under the age of six -- senior citizens -- pregnant women -- and people with compromised immune systems. they are also focusing on homes where water tests indicate high levels of lead at the tap. this all comes as a delegation

than a dozen members of congress visited flint to hear the concerns of residents. all new at five-thirty -- it's been just over six-months since a shooting at smith mountain lake near roanoak claimed the lives of two journalists. the woman they were interviewing, vicki gardner, was shot in the back. after several surgeries and months of recovery gardner just returned to work as the executive director of the smith mountain lake regional chamber of commerce. she's been back part-time for one month now and says she's been as busy as ever planning events for the lake's 50th anniversary next week. just before the shooting, vicki had been working on a painting of smith mountain lake-- that image is now the cover of this year's official guide to the lake. in honor of the lake's 50th anniversary,
