road. call the crime line if you recongize either of these men. also in hampton -- police are looking for the driver who struck a bicyclist - and fled the scene. it happened wednesday afternoon. 10 on your side's liz kilmer spoke with the victim today - liz, how is he doing? other than feeling a bit sore -- phillip reed is otherwise ok. but, the 21-year-old wants justice. he's asking for the driver who struck him to come forward. c1 14:45 "i could have been killed like i was scared." in what felt like slow motion - phillip reed feared for his life - as a mini van hit him as he rode his bike. c1 12:58 "it pulled my front wheel, and it pulled me under and caught my right arm, my leg, i have a tire mark from where it ran me over. it happened just before 1 on wednesday afternoon. reed had been biking south on grimes road, near east pembroke avenue - when the mini van - a white, older model - pulled out of this taco bell/kfc parking lot. c1 12:39 "i was coming to the end of the sidewalk, i saw the van about to

end." c1 14:15 "i wanted to make sure i came to a complete stop and i did but it wasn't enough for them not to catch my front wheel, they caught me, and they just took off, it would have been one thing if they came back to make sure i was okay." reed says he couldn't see what the driver looked like. he hopes that person comes forward. c1 21:54 "i just don't see how somebody could do it, i don't see how they could leave me laying there, that's the scariest part." c15 12:37 "as reed was on the ground some nearby construction workers ran to help him, others jumped in their vehicle and chased after the van." c1 17:22 "i want to thank them for that, that was amazing, that made me get through it." an act of kindness -- in the wake of cruelty. as an avid bmx rider - reed says this experience won't prevent him from getting back on the bike, again. in fact he's even working to repair the one that was struck. c1 16:16 "i know what it's like to have a two for that, thankful it wasn't worse." reed was taken to the hospital but again, he's doing ok - just sore.

they say there wasn't usable surveillance video. if you have any information about this -- you are urged to contact police. liz kilmer, 10 on your side. new tonight police in norfolk have a suspect in custody for assaulting an officer. it happened earlier tonight when the officer was following up on a report of vandalism. the officer said it happened when he to the scene on picadilly street. no one got hurt. we're working to learn if the suspect faces additional charges. tonight police in suffolk are looking for suspect accused of murdering a man earlier this week. police are looking for 18 year old karlton boone, junior. he's wanted for the murder of wayne anthony watford. someone found watford's body tuesday morning at pleasant hill cemetery. you can see boone's picture on your screen. call the crime line if you know where he is. firefighters in chesapeake tell us someone dumped 500 gallons of paint down a drain in south hill. you may have seen crews cleaning it up today. firefighters tell us police investigated and

behind dumping the paint. we're working to learn who that is and if they face any charges. new developments in the ongoing death investigation of aj hadsell. 10 on your side learned a potential witness may testify against the teenager's adoptive father wesley hadsell. investigators found the 18-year-old's body behind a home in franklin last spring in the midst of an intense search. it's been more than one year since she disappeared and no one has been charged in her death. the court papers released thursday in federal court say there's a "strong possibility" the witness would testify if hadsell picked up any charges relating to aj's death. super = officer daniel they want to be 100% confident that who they are putting in front of the judge is the right person so the family can move forward." the medical examiner ruled aj's cause of death "acute heroin poisoning" what's still a mystery is whether it was aj -- or someone else -- who put

only on 10, once described as a loyal employee, a virginia beach woman was found guilty of ripping off the company, and it's not the first time. today a judge convicted mandi flowers of embezzlement from people's auction company in chesapeake. she was the only office worker at peoples. so when money went missing they went looking for mandi flowers. after a string of disappointing finishes in the primaries, carson not add up. i did the math, i looked at the delegate counts, i looked at the states, i looked at the requirements. and i realized it simply wasn't going to happen. organization aimed at motivating christians to vote. the supreme court will hear former governor bob mcdonnell's appeal next month. 10 on your side has followed his case since a jury convicted mcdonnell and his wife maureen on doing political favors for a wealthy executive- all in exchange for more than 165-thousand dollars in gifts and loans. mcdonnell's lawyers will argue on april 27th, the federal jury unfairly convicted him on a broad definition of bribery. a decision is expected toward the end of june. mcdonnell's wife's appeal is on hold until the supreme court rules. new developments in the public corruption case against the norfolk city treasurer. anthony burfoot's

judge to throw out many of his charges. andrew sacks, burfoot's attorney filed 8 motions. he claims his client was entrapped while on the witness stand and now his statements are being used against him. burfoot testified back in 2013 for the defense in the federal trial for the bank of the commonealth. sacks claim when burfoot took the stand under oath federal prosecutors cross examined him and asked him questions they knew he would lie about. questions like has he ever taken a bribe. burfoot of course answered no. prosecutors are now using his testimony under oath against him. the feds charged burfoot with 8 counts of corruption and perjury. they say he accepted more than 475 thousand dollars in bribes and kickbacks burfoot is scheduled for trial in may. in just a couple weeks a judge will rule on those motions. tonight loved ones will have to wait a little big longer to see family and friends aboard the u-s-n-s laramie. the oiler was scheduled to return home to norfolk tonight, but the windy

the debate over planned parenthood will continue next week - with a vote in the virginia senate. this week a committee passed a bill that would remove state funding for the organization. the department of health gives more than 25-thousand dollars to the hampton roads office. the agency says those are federal dollars-- used for s-t-d prevention and testing. capital news service reports-- the bill's sponsor has said the legislation would defund the organization and "redirect funds to more comprehensive health care for women." planned parenthood says the money it received from the state does not fund abortions. we asked the department of health to break down the numbers for us. you can find them right now on our website wavy dot com. new tonight the suprmeme court blocked a law in louisiana that could force all but one of the state's abortion clinics to close. justices struck down a law that required doctors who provide abortions to have admitting priviledges at nearby hospitals. the move also reverses an order by a federal appeals court that allowed enforcement even as the law was being challenged in the courts. it's a sign that a similar law in texas could also be in jepardy. new tonight, a student faces charges after sharing nude photos of his teacher. police in south carolina say the high school student went through his teacher's cellphone. the 16-year old faces a computer crime and voyeruism. the teacher involved said she shot the nude selfie to share with her husband. after the student went through her phone she quit her job teaching in charleston. the superintendent said

students unattended during a four-minute break between classes. developing in flint, michigan - a republican is not needed. senator mike lee from utah is holding up address the lead-contaminated water crisis. republican governor has not asked for federal help and the state does not need it because of an enormous budget surplus. senators from both parties reached a deal for a 220-million dollar package to fix and replace the pipes, but the bill remains on hold. crews started today to replace those pipes that caused the public health emergency. new tonight, help from the federal government is on its way for those affected by the tornadoes last week. the u-s department of agriculture rural development will be in waverly next thursday to talk about home repair and construction loans. specialists will also be on site to answer questions and provide advice. the event will be at the fresh pride grocery store

from three to seven march 10. while the event is in waverly, anyone who was affected by the recent storms is able to attend. new numbers on the deadly tornadoes show what they did to people's homes and property. we learned virginia farms lost at least one-point-six-million-dol lars. chopper 10 was above the damage in waverly. the tornadoes killed three people there. in essex county, the virginia department of forestry says the storm caused about 750-thousand dollars in damage to timber alone. developing tonight, a case that captivated the nation is back in the news. police in los angeles say they are testing a knife supposedly discovered near o-j simpson's home. investigators are looking to find out if the knife is connected to the murders of simpson's former wife, nicole brown and her friend ron goldman. police say a former l-a-p-d traffic officer recently turned the knife over to detectives. officials say the officer said he was working off-duty on a
