of former first lady nancy reagan. we'll take a look at the tributes to her from around the political world. but first, breaking news out of suffolk. that's where police are investigating two possible meth labs. police went to a houses on elwood road and glen haven drive, the carrsville area, earlier this morning. 10 on your side's jason marks is live outside the home on elwood road with the latest on the investigation. state police have finished up at the scene here on elkwood road. they are now about a mile down the street on glen haven drive. here is some video from earlier. this was things looked like here on elkwood. it was just after 4 when state police raided this home. we're told they were there to bust a meth lab. you can investigators there in haz-mat suits. troopers then packed up here and headed out to a

next chance for rain looks like it will come around on sunday. so we will also get a chance to dry out so we will also get a chance to dry out new at midday -- several people are hurt after an s-u-v crashed into a bus. this happened at the intersection of battlefield boulevard and hanbury road around 9:30 this morning. three adults and two children on the bus were hurt. the driver of the s-u-v was also injured. everyone went to the hospital, but they are all expected to recover. chesapeake police are trying to figure out what caused the crash. we are working to learn more about a police chase through two cities that happened overnight.

police in chesapeake say officer tried to stop a motorcycle for having bad equipment on george washington highway near military highway around 12:20 this morning. police say the rider refused to stop. officers chased the bike into portsmouth. it lasted for about six minutes before officers lost sight of the bike on high street and stopped the chase. no one was hurt and no property was damaged. police haven't released any suspect information yet, but as soon as we do, we'll bring it to you on com. police in virginia beach arrested two students for allegedly making threats against their high school. police say the students made the threat over the internet. it allegedly said they were going to hurt people at landstown high school. 10 on your side's erin kelly is following this story. she joins us live outside of landstown high school. erin? police say a parent of a student here told them about it yesterday. then school officials were notified and police started investigating the threat. two students have been charged with making an

electronic threat to do bodily harm on school property. the principal sent a message to parents this morning -- saying the two students are still in custody. and that normal operations were never disrupted. the principal also asked parents to use this as an opportunity to talk to their children about the appropriate use of text messaging and social media. increased police presence at school today. talking to superintendent about this later today. live in virginia beach, erin kelly, 10 on your side. new at midday -- the southampton county sheriff's office arrested a man they say put a child in danger. this is chad timberlake. deputies say he got into an argument with the mother of his child. that's when he put one of his kids into a truck and tried to leave. deputies say the child only had a pair of shorts on. when a deputy went to check on the child, he spotted a gun near the child. and that gun was loaded.

deputies arrested timberlake and charged him with reckless care of a child. virginia beach police are looking for a shooting suspect at the oceanfront. dispatchers say it happened around 2:00 this morning in the parking lot of "the cave nightclub" on atlantic avenue. police searched the area for a man they say, fired a gun. no one was hit. police have not found the shooter. police across several cities are investigating at least eight separate shootings from this past weekend. one man died saturday in ocean view. three other victims are in the hospital with other two are men from virginia beach and hampton. virginia beach caught a suspect in an early morning shooting not too far from the scene at a hotel. new this midday, we can tell you his name. police say 20 year-old levi roberts shot a man on atlantic avenue near virginia oceanfront. we are working to get his mugshot for you. the victim is in threatening injuries. police say roberts fled

police in new york city shot a man and arrested him after investigators say he went on a violent crime spree. police say 23-year-old james dillon's spree started when he slashed his next door neighbors face and neck with a knife. four hours later, he allegedly stabbed the owner of a liqour store and set him on fire after pouring an accelerant on him. that man died. moments later, police say dillon sprayed a 61-year-old man with the accerlerant and

lit him on fire. that man is in the hospital. officers caught up to dillon in the backyard of his parents house. investigators say he refused to drop his knife and then he sprayed two officers with the accelerant. police shot him seven times. he is in the hospital in critical condition. police are trying to figure out what sent him on the spree, but reportedly told investigators he wasn't psychological issues. a suspect shot a pastor in the parking lot of a church in idaho. this happened sunday afternoon. police say 30-year-old kyle odom is the one who shot pastor tim remington as he walked to his car. officers say remington was hit with several bullets. odom was able to runaway from the scene and police are still looking for him. remington is expected to make a full recovery, and members of his church are rallying support behind him. mos says: "he gets to go home to his wife and kids. that's number one" mos says: "all the people in society turned their

want us to pray for that person... that's how he is" police are still looking for odom and are still trying to figure out why shot the pastor. just a day before the shooting, pastor remington delivered the opening prayer at a rally for presidential candidate ted cruz as he visited idaho. that's him at the podium. cruz has not commented on shooting. a 19-year-old man is going to make after someone shot him several times while working at a fast food restauraunt. police say a man got angry while eating at a church's fried chicken in philadelphia. he pulled out a gun and shot the employee several times. police haven't figured out an exact cause for the shooting, but they suspect the man snapped when employees started cleaning tables as he was eating his food. the shooting happened only a mile and a half away from where someone beat a woman to death with a hammer earlier in the

day. but, police don't think that is related to the shooting. a scary moment for a teenage pilot. he had to make an emergency landing on a golf course in florida over the weekend. the 18-year-old was flying with his dad when the small plane started having trouble. police say air traffic control told the pilot to land at an airport in saint petersburg, but he quickly realized the plane would not make it there. luckily, he spotted the saint pete country club and decided to land there. neighbors were shocked, while golfers were just mildly annoyed. miller says: "as i was driving through the neighborhood, i realized there was a plane on the golf course, and i was like 'oh my gosh!'" wood says: "we didn't know if didn't hit the plane! i was a little worried about that!" nobody was hurt. the n-t-s-b is trying to figure out what a problem. the west coast is getting some much needed rain. but, it is causing a lot of problems. mudslides are happening

it was built in the 1960s and was only supposed to last for 30 years. we've told you how crews have put band-aid fixes to keep the span up. construction on a new span has been delayed from legal fights between environmentalists and residents & transportation officials. the bonner bridge connects hatteras island with south nags head. nearly 100 scientists are in gloucester to talk about trash in our local waterways and ocean. it's part of the two-day virginia marine debris summit at the virginia institute of marine science. scientists will talk about ways to prevent pollution in places like the chesapeake bay, which you can see in this recent video from chopper 10. the u.s. marshal service is warning virginia residents about a national phone scam where individuals are claiming to be law enforcement officials collecting fines for failing to report for jury duty. marshals say they do not arrange payment of any fines over the phone. the scammers are trying to appear more credible

super doppler 10 forecast 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 in case you missed it live during wavy news 10 today, there it is again. nasa launched a suborbital rocket from wallops island around seven this morning. on board, space development projects that flew more than 99 miles. sceintists recovered the payload and it will return to wallops later today. engineers will be able to analyze the results of the launch. north korea is once again making threats against the u-s and south korea. this comes after the two countries began their annual large military drills. it's a test of defenses in case north korea attacks. pyongyang is calling the drills "nuclear war moves." television read a statement by the defense commission, launch an all-out

about heavy rain in california. but the snow is coming down in the mountains there too. a powerful storm hit the sierra nevada last night. people driving on i-80 had to go through white out conditions and officals had to close parts of the highway. police say there were a lot of accidents, but nobody was seriously hurt. snowstorms are expected to continue in that area throughout the week. it's time for a shout out to cereal lovers! today is national cereal day. 49-percent of americans start their day with a bowl,or two of cereal. the stuff has evolved from the early days of just bran flakes, to more elaborate, and healthy choices. stores sell two-point-seven billion boxes of cereal every year. that's enough to wrap around the earth 13 times. a wild sea otter mom wanted to seek shelter from the stormy seas so she could give birth to a pup. the otter gave birth to her baby in the monterey bay aquarium in california saturday, as staff and visitors watched. the mom and the pup spent the weekend resting in the tide pool. wild otters and other animals are able to swim into the aqaurium from the wild. it is the second time since december an otter

mom used the sheltered waters to give birth. a stunt didn't quite work out for a few mascots at an n-b-a game. ouch! miami heat mascot burnie celebrated his birthday during last nights game against the philadelphia 76ers. as you can see, he went for his best evel knievel impression, trying to break the record for most mascots flipped over. he clearly didn't make it, landing hard on a couple of the mascots, especially the florida panthers' stanley c. panther, who probably won't be inviting burnie to his birthday party. thank you for watching wavy news 10 midday.
