beltway an easy ride as well. so the entire major roads rung smoothly. a live view of 95 at 895. rather, sandy point, first. across the bay bridge a smooth ride from the beaches this morning. if you delayed your departure until this morning, you should be problem-free there. southbound traffic coming toward us, the rest of the major roads looking good. we'll keep you posted. that's the latest. over to you. >> thank you. our big story, baltimore county police want to know why two teens were hanging out on light rail tracks on sunday. >> one of the teens is now dead while the other remains in shock trauma. whether they were actually hit by a train remains a mystery. 11 news reporter jennifer franciotti joins us live with the latest. >> good morning. one of the teens is listed in critical condition here at shock trauma. the other did die over the weekend. and the discovery was made on sunday afternoon between the falls road station and the lutherville train station. again, this happened on sunday afternoon when an m.t.a. worker

made the grewsome discovery about 100 yards south of the lutherville station. a spokesperson for the m.t.a. says it doesn't appear the teens had been passengers and none of the conductors reported seeing anything or hitting anything. >> we are inspecting every one of our trains to see if there's any hit hint of an accident, collision or coming into contact with a human. that would easily show. >> anyone with information is being asked to call the m.t.a. we'll have more on the story at 5:30. reporting live, jennifer franciotti, wbal-tv 11 news. >> thank you. police in tennessee continue to investigate the death of former baltimore raven steve mcnair which has now been ruled a homicide. mcnair was found shot multiple timed alongside 20-year-old sahel kazemi who was also found with a single gunshot wound to the head. the former waitress's family says the 20-year-old had been

dating the football star for months. >> all scenarios are on the table. as we talk to witnesses, look for laboratory testing, wait for the results of testing from the medical examiner's office. all options will remain on the table. >> steve mcnair leaves behind a wife and four sons. he was 36 years old. stay with 11 news for continuing coverage of steve mcnair's murder on our website. there's video from the scene, reaction from the ravens and more footage from the football star when he announced his retirement. you'll find it right on the homepage. >> a baltimore teen is charged as a an adult with the shootingf a 5-year-old girl. police say 17-year-old lamont davis shot the girl known as raven as well as a teenager he was fighting with. the girl was walking on south pulasky street when she was shot in the head. she remains on life support. this weekend's celebrations kept authorities in harford county busy with three incidents involving illegal fireworks. first involved a 43-year-old man

who was badly burned after fireworks ignited in his face. the other happened in edgewood, a 23-year-old suffered burns to his leg and face. both victims were taken to shock trauma. in aberdeen, fire crews were called in to put out an apartment fire that was sparked when an errant fire work land on an awning. fortunately nobody was hurt. in all fire marshalls confiscated more than 50 pounds of illegal fireworks saturday night. >> today president obama begins two days of talks with russia's president in moscow. there is word the two will announce progress on arms control. 11 news reporter brook hart has more on today's discussions. >> president obama sat down with russia media he said what he hopes to communicate today to russia's president medvedev and its people. >> with that come special responsibility that are very different from positions of many other countries around the world. >> u.s. officials confirm today the two leaders will announce

progress on arms control, specifically cutting the number of nuclear warheads, securing nuclear materiel has been a priority for both countries. >> we know that people are trying to get their hands on this materiel. we get it through our intelligence community. >> but issues remain in replacing the arms control treaty that expires. russia wants the u.s. to scrap plans for a missile defense system in eastern europe, something russians see with suspicion. >> we have areas of differences. missile defense is a big one. >> americans, too, have become more weary of russia. just 29% see russia as an ally compared to 52% seven years ago. the shift came as former president putin forged closer ties with iran's ahmadinejad and pressure on nato expansion. as president obama received a personal paik on a tradition russian doll, he says he wants to reset the u.s.-russian

relationship. just last week russia offered its airspace to flights of u.s. troops and weapons into afghanistan. the president hopes the issue of arms control helps open more agreement elsewhere. after moscow he heads to italy where he'll have an audience with the pope. then it's to ghana in africa. in washington, brook hart, nx news. >> political analysts are still trying to figure out whether the sudden resignation of alaska governor and former vice presidential candidate sarah palin will help her political future or end it. the alaska republican stunned many on friday when she announced she would be leaving office just two and a half years into her first term. yesterday palin posted on her facebook page that she was leaving to answer a higher calling some. wonder if she just joined the ranks of republicans who recently flamed out on the public stage. >> it is not clear what they are strategy here is by exiting the governorship two and a half years through her term and putting herself on the national

>> a very good morning to you. it's in the 60's right now. checking out i-95 north of maryland 152. we're looking ok right now traffic wise and weather-wise a beautiful -- we had a wonderful weekend, below normal temperature-wise. for the most part of this week we're going to remain dry. that's not the case over the carolinas where a stationary boundary has stalled out. we're dealing with low pressure to our south. around here we're sheltered from that. and high pressure will dominate our landscape, meaning mostly sunny skies. 84 to 88, the temperature range, which is seasonable. i've got more on your seven-day forecast coming up in a little bit. back to you. >> thank you. covering the nation, former washington, d.c., mayor marion barry is out of jail after being arrested on stalking allegations. according to police a 40-year-old donna watts flagd down police saying barry was stalking her. a spokesperson says he was on his way home when he bumped into watts. he was taken in for questioning then released.

he's expected to appear in court later this week. >> at least 25 people were injured when a wooden bridge collapsed following a fourth of july fireworks show in indiana. no one was killed but officials say more than 50 people were dumped into the lake. some 50 rescue crews rushed to the scene, pulling several people, including children, out of the lake. a preliminary investigation into the collapse showed a structural failure of the footbridge. >> 5:12. 60 degrees. coming up, one popular social networking site is stepping up their game in efforts to protect you. >> meanwhile, another is potentially the gateway to porn for children. a warning parents need to know about twitter. >> and as far as your commute if you're heading back from the beach, we're look at a nice ride. we'll update you coming up.

that's clearing out today. we are seeing activities down to the south, churning over the carolinas. we have an area of low pressure resting long a front. it will remain to our south. in our neck of the woods we're going to see basically high pressure build in. that's going to stabilize things. even though we have a cool start, we're going to surge up into the mid 80's today. cool meaning only 58 degrees at b.w.i. marshall. this is almost unheard of, how cool we've been. the low humidity for the move july so far. we're going to see it the rest of this week, too. it feels so nice out there. these dew points have remained so low. we're looking at mid to upper 50's. typically this time of the year we're looking at a 65 or a 70 dew point reading. haven't had much summer. but it's going to be really pleasant. got news is no major rainfall is expected. that's good only because we're about four inches above normal. 82 for the mountains of western

maryland. mostly sunny skies as we zoom across our area. looks like 87 in baltimore today. 87 is our normal high. mostly sunny skies. as we head down to the shore it looks like 83 over in ocean city so if you still have a few days at the beach a beautiful beach day with a high u.v. index as well. today winds variable. five to 10 knots. waves a foot or less. water temperatures in the 70's. yesterday we only hit 77 degrees. it's july 5, 77. 62 was the low. 101 is the record high. the potential that we could see this time of the year but not so this week. that was set 1979. a record low of 51 was set. our average low is 65 it looks like in our outlying suburbs we'll be in the low 60's, kind of in between, it looks like, around baltimore. then downtown it looks like we'll be about 68.

we'll be dry as well. kind of making up for all of that excess rain we had earlier in the spring of the right now a clear scan over baltimore. there is activity to our south as low pressure churns into the carolinas this morning where a stalled front is just sitting out there. but for today we're not going to be affected by that. instead high pressure is going to build in from the west. that means mostly sunny skies, absolutely gorgeous sky conditions. 84 to 88 our temperature range. seasonably warm. 87 is our typical high for this time of the year. the humidity isn't going to be a factor, which it typically is. 62 outlying areas. 68, downtown. there's more from where that came. tomorrow looks like mostly sunny to partly cloudy. again, 84 to 88 degrees. right now let's check out the roads. >> we're trying to figure out where everybody is this morning. i think they're sleeping in. it is a really quiet ride out there. not seeing a whole lot in the way of volume. still up to speed on the north side and the west side at 59 miles per hour.
