>> good afternoon, and sarah caldwell. i'm joined by sandra shaw. strong winds moved past the area overnight and indications more could go away. >> we not only solve strong winds but nickel-sized hail in some locations. as you look at the doppler, this is what look like when the storms went through. look at the purple sell -- as the vintage radar that is typically associated with rotation and spend. basically an incredibly intense storm and it did do major damage and also the dump a lot of rain and a short amount of time, 1 inch to 2 inches in the northeast of the state, hertford county and a looks like 1 inch to 2 inches to the east of frederick.

as far as tonight, still very unstable because we are in the moist, tropical fumet air mass. the front will be moving through tonight, so that could trigger more showers and storms. some isolated storms cells could be strong and severe. as far as the aftermath, we have more on that with melissa carlson. >> it was just 6:00 p.m. when the size of owings mills and points beyond grew dark. a quick moving storm made its way down reisterstown road and then moved on. >> apparently as the storm passed through northwest. come and knock down trees and general weather-related damage through churchill lane, thrown nicodemus road. >> it just got dark, the rain

started pouring down. you couldn't hear anything. you could just hear pouring down rain. >> i was a little bit scared, thunder and hail. >> residents were pummeled by the elements and have the damage to prove it. massive trees bend and broken like twigs. firefighters had to go door-to- door. residents who spoke to said they had to make a quick move. >> pounding rain, hail, banging on the windows, and we saw all of these starting to swirl. >> for others like this family, the storm outside became a very unwelcome guests inside. >> i heard a loud, snapping noise, and then it just a swoosh going around the house. >> mystery toppled onto the house, cracking the roof and tearing the sighting -- this jury toppled. >> it was really frightening.

what is not to be happy about? training camp starts the day, the first public date is tomorrow. right now things are quiet. the staff is getting ready and you see the crew getting the field ready. as mentioned, training camp means a lot of dollars for the city of westminster so. businesses are gearing up as well. -- area businesses are gearing up as well. even the seats are purple hair and during the month training camp this year -- more than double the amount of normal customers come into heat. >> it just gets busy and overwhelm sometimes. >> we get a lot. last year we were really busy. >> it is ridiculous. extremely busy, the line through the door. >> always something that would look at. >> the mayor says was the answer is thrilled to host the ravens.

baltimore, maybe not the intense storms as yesterday but we do have a chance seeing strong storms erupt later on this afternoon until the evening. 88 degrees is the forecast high for this time of year -- normal for this time of year, we have been evading summer but now we will see a persistent drought the rest of the week. 85 in ocean city with a chance of showers and storms. winds out of the south southwest at 10 knots to 15 knots and water temperatures in the upper summoning's near 80 degrees. 101 is the record set july 27, 1940 and in contrast the record low of 52 refreshing degrees back set 1952 and unfortunately no where near tonight. the cloud cover around, keeping the temperatures high. 66 degrees to 70 degrees tonight. for it to the west, trough out ahead of it. will slowly make progress the
