shot -- was shot to death over a year ago. leaders say it is time for people to step forward to bring an end to the violence. >> i do not want to hear about snitching. that is crap. this shooting could have been worse. it is important for people in the community to come forward. >> these people get their guns ready in front of their girlfriends and loved ones and friends. people see them and know what is going on. >> police believe the shootings are connected to that cookout shooting. >> with the violence reaching unprecedented levels, the mayor and leaders are calling for an end to the violence.

power reporter has more on how community leaders and faith- based leaders are stepping in. >>, baltimore did experience an unprecedented amount of shootings in a short window of time. members of the faith-based community to work on a program earlier this spring are calling to expand the program. , in may, the baltimore archdiocese, of faith leaders from all denominations to make this a summer of peace in the city. the shooting over the weekend as spiritual leaders like this bishop saying more needs to be done to end this culture of violence. >> it is rooted in the poverty that grips the city. it is rooted in the gang culture and the drug culture. the entire baltimore community, not the black worker corporate or church committee, but the entire community must come together and say no to this violence. >> he believes when the program
