[unintelligible] lipscomb cut a deal last month when he admitted to making an improper campaign contribution to councilwoman helen holton. prosecutors dropped more serious bribery charges against him. the new perjury charges against dixon are similar to the ones that were dismissed by a judge to two months ago. the judge ruled that they mistakenly relied on her voting record the first time around. this indictment makes no mention of the votes. the theft charges repeated allegations that she stole gift cards that were donated to the city for needy families. again, there are new details provided by naming names. howard dixon is the one who bought a playstation with donated gift cards, but used the

mayor's home address and phone number. they are not related. howard dixon, as we have reported, is the driver who allegedly took $4,000 cash from the mayor, put it in his bank account, and, at her request, used it to make the payment on her american express card. one of dixon's lawyers call that a regurgitation of the old and contains the same legal flaws. this could push back her trial date scheduled for early september. the mayor issued a statement a short time ago. >> city hall is responding via e-mail. just a few moments ago, we caught up with the mayor. here's what she had to say. a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 8:00 p.m. tonight. up until about midnight, the threat of one of these strong storms will be with us. the high temperature was below normal at 86 degrees. 87 degrees is the normal. but it will form overnight. when you average out the temperatures, it turns out to be ia warmer than normal july day. the month as a whole, with only a couple of days to go, is checking in kind of cool. as of right now, the seventh coolest day on record was tied with 1996. it is interesting to know that three of the seven cluster been in the 2000's. this will probably end up been

one of the top 8 to 10 coolest days in july. the cold fronts have been sleeping in through the mid- atlantic. this one is coming to western pennsylvania. there is warm, muggy air out ahead of it. it looks like it will get past this late tonight, pushing the storms out over the coastal well because to clear through the morning. during the day tomorrow, we will be on the other side of the front. for tonight, the risk of a thunderstorm is until midnight. it will be warm and muggy with lows around 70 degrees. there is tropical moisture coming from the gulf appeared once this front get past this, look how clears up for indiana and illinois. that means that tomorrow, we will probably have a different day. this is likely to bring around another round of thunderstorms for friday. some of them could be strong
