that meant a lot richer. judge sweeney dismissed previous charges because prosecutors used her previous voting record. >> they over-pleaded her case. they told the whole story. grand jurors deciding whether to indict were given information that was protected by legislative immunity. >> new details are provided. allegations include asking the developer for money to help pay for expenses on a trip to chicago. the condemning claims he gave her $2,000 to $3,000 in cash and then another payment in short time later. >> i do not think it changes the discounts but just makes them factually stronger. >> the new indictment alleged that the developer was asked to

tragic accident when two onlookers were killed as they were waiting to watch an illegal drug race. what the state highway administration and the maryland state police have done is basically closed this section of from the park and ride all the way to where interstate 70 meets 65, bringing it down from three lanes into one in order to prevent another tragedy. that is how a friend of the two describe how quickly they were killed as they were watching an illegal street car race back on june 21. witnesses said the car that hit them was not involved in the racing and may have been fleeing from police. now a little more than a month later, a joint effort between the maryland state police and highway administration installing temporary measures to

prevent any future racing or tragedies. >> the maryland state police believe this is an effective way to address the situation, something that will keep the police from having to come back here on a regular basis. >> both groups are working together, installing a six-foot wide portable barrier's 300 feet apart, closing what was three lanes to one lane by interstate 165. >> we are reducing the section down to one lane to curb illegal street racing. >> maryland state police said the barriers will remain in place until further notice. state highway officials will monitor the site to see if any further action need to be put in place. >> we are going to monitor it to see how all -- we will see if anything needs to be done from that point.

is hunting season for thieves. a warning for motorcycle and minivan owners. melissa carlson has more. >> motorcycles and minivans, you may think the two vehicles have nothing in common. but for thieves, those two vehicles are a perfect combination. this woman said she woke up last week to find that the only thing left of her husband's motorcycle was its cover. >> which saw other people with motorcycles around out here so we did not expect anything to happen to it. it was parked right out front of our door so we did not think anybody would be brave enough to take it. >> you can see marks on the ground where thieves dragged the bike. a spokesperson explains that in the last two weeks, six street lights have been stolen. >> they don't have garages where they can lock these things up.

>> 12 minivans have either been stolen or there was an attempt to kill them. >> criminals will coat cruising. they will go in and out of these parking lots. if they can't defeat the security bread away, they will put it in back of the minivan. >> try to lock it to another large object. also, consider a tracking device and leave the title in your home. >> we had it insured but we only had a liability on it. we were not expecting anything like this to happen. >> since this seems to be happening late at night, baltimore county police are asking anybody that sees something suspicious to call 911. >> howard county police are searching for the suspect who stabbed a teenager on a basketball court.

past baltimore. if it keeps sliding past us, some of the drier air may get here for the start of the weekend. saturday could be a little bit more comfortable. it might try out just a touch. tomorrow, we are firmly entrenched in the warm and muggy air. some sunshine for saturday. sunday will start with sunshine and a finish of the weekend with another round of storms. tomorrow, some of the storms could be strong. it will be much cooler as you head westbound up into the mountains. probably only around 70 degrees tamara with thunderstorms throughout the day in the mountains. saturday looks like a nice day in the western maryland mountains. 89 or 90 degrees around the chesapeake bay tomorrow. storms will arrive late afternoon, maybe even towards sunset at ocean city tomorrow. the best day at the beach
