cooling centers around the city to give residents a break from the heat. anyone who does not have air conditioning in their home is encouraged to go to one of them. they have water for all residents. and they helped a permit is making it easier to get to the cooling centers. -- and the health department is making it easier to get to the cooling centers. >> people can use the bus passed to get to a cooling center. we have six of them and we have cooling centers at all of our senior centers. >> the cooling centers are located in an all city community action centers tomorrow and tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. to find a location closer to you, call 311. you can go to our web sites wbaltv.com for more information. two residents were killed in a

plane crash this past weekend. it took off in taneytown. our reporter spoke with the families today and joins us live. >>letty williams leaves behind some sons and grandchildren and a legacy. it shows a spirit of the venture and a legacy of life. >> it is devastating. >> he says it is just darting to sink in that his mother is gone. she died -- it is just starting to sink in that his mother is gone. she died during the plane crashed in carroll county. >> she was an accomplished woman. she was a professional. she did a lot of good things. a lot of people love her. she loved a lot of people. she is going to be missed.

>> the pilot of the two-seater plane was also killed. there were very close friends for many years. they enjoyed living life to their fullest, traveling, scuba diving, skydiving. she was working on getting her own pilot's license. at 66, she was having the time of her life. >> she liked to have a good time. >> here is one consolation is that she died doing what she left. she is leaving behind quite a legacy. >> an outstanding mother, she left her kids. she had five grandchildren. she loved them to death. she was the life of the party. >> their family will try to move on without the woman who was such a bright spot in their lives. >> we put our trust in the lord. there is a plan and the reason for everything. it is not for me to know or

anybody else to know. >> the family has not finalized any funeral arrangements yet. federal investigations have not release any information on what caused the plane to crash. wbal tv 11 news. >> divers have recovered a body from the hudson river where a chopper in small plane collided yesterday afternoon. the search will continue for others who are presumed dead. our reporter has more from new jersey. >> one day after the horrific mid-air collision, crews lifted the mangled wreckage. engineers loaded the helicopter on a barge for investigators to search for evidence. >> the helicopter sustained significant damage. they are going to be conducting further examination of the wreckage. >> just north, ntsb officials say they located the fuselages of the small plane. >> divers are working to

confirm if this is the airplane. then they will work on recovery of it. >> they are trying to recover all the victims, seven of the nine have been found. the pilot of the helicopter was a new zealand native who was living in new jersey. five italian tourists were on board and had taken up for a sightseeing tour of the manhattan skyline. in new jersey, the small private plane was piloted by one man. his brother and their son was on board. they were from pennsylvania. >> he was on the phone with his father. he sought it in new exactly what it was. tragic. >> this home video shows the crash aftermath. you can see where the helicopter went down along with floating debris and divers searching for any survivors. the pilots were lying below

investigators are looking in the crash. health officials say they are in a race to get a swine flu vaccine on the market. hundreds of people have been infected in maryland and so far. but people will die from the virus. the secretary spoke on when the vaccine should be available. >> we are looking at some time in the fall. a likely beyond where we start our typical flu vaccine, the seasonal flu vaccine. it will be after school starts. what is important is that parents get ready for an unlikely flu season in making sure that students have all of the things they need to keep them healthy in the classroom. >> and to help keep this didn't help, officials are asking parents to keep their children home if they are not feeling well.

and to constantly washed their hands. the health care reform fight is heating up. lawmakers are getting angry earful back at their home districts. they began their august recess, and some are trying to fight the democratic health care plan. our reporter is in washington with more. >> congress may be on vacation, but lawmakers are not getting a break on health care reform. constituents are demanding to know how the lawmakers are voting on the health care bill, even though there is not one yet. >> there is no health care bill. what this is, is a compilation of three committee reforms. >> the house and senate looked at some plants but failed to write an actual bill before the august recess. there is an angry debate back home. >> i came out because i read the

bill. >> congressional meetings have turned into a mob scenes. >> this was never set up to be a town hall. >> some say it is a political campaign. concern is boiling over. >> i think the citizens are expressing their opinions about an issue of this magnitude. it may indicate some weakness on this issue. >> they may have to go it alone. >> if it reaches a point where we cannot reach a bipartisan agreement, i do not want to see health care reform failed. you only get a chance to do something once in a lifetime. >> some lawmakers can expect to feel the heat like never before. the white house is trying to correct misinformation, including a false report that the health care reform supports euthanasia. wbal tv 11 news.

of his children's sporting events, and a birthday party for a campaign donor. the media should not be the only group investigating the matter. estate plane was used in march to pick him up from myrtle beach and fly into columbia. his calendar showed his only appointment was personal time. that trip cost taxpayers over $2,000 according to the ap. that chip is one of many revealed during this investigation. >> it is an ongoing soap opera on the people of south carolina. at some point, out of respect for the people of south carolina, he needs to step aside. >> a former spokesperson is quoted in the story saying the governor only use the aircraft for state business. >> the governor's office
