they arrested lamont davis and charged him with first-degree murder. they say he was wearing a monitoring device when he was arrested. but public defenders show -- say the video shows he was not wearing one. one person says this is a strategy that could work given the amount of media coverage in the case. >> and he has gotten very frustrated in the past several weeks having his client be found guilty in the media. >> according to court documents, several witnesses identified davis as the shooter. reporting live, wbal-tv. >> thank you. city police are looking for whoever is responsible for a dangerous shooting last night.

the video shows a man in a black shirt standing on a corner with bystanders. all of the sudden, he starts chasing a man in a white shirt. the camera catches the suspect running from the scene. once the shooting is over, d.c. neighbor's gathering around 5 year-old raven fry it who was injured in the crossfire. police arrested lamont davis who is 17 years old. in a bold defense move, his public defender released this video saying the shooter is not davis. police say that he was wearing a juvenile gps monitoring device when he was arrested. but the video does not show the shooter wearing one. >> he is doing it, i am sure he is a good reason for doing it. this professor has gone up against the attorney for davis. he says it could lead to an acquittal of the case. >> you'll have to start trying
